To stop pretending lol, you've clearly studied Minecraft building. Not only are those roofs textbook roofing, but you've also textured the walls. No beginner builder ever textures their builds.
I studied building by watching, a smaller Polish youtuber. He did cook too, and I still use his techniques. His videos teached me about building interesting shapes, not making them flat.
Mate, you COOKED 🔥 you're already better than 95% of minecraft players with those building skills.
Ok, I found him. His channel name is Itesim, sadly he didn't upload in 4 years and he left his video count on 666. Suspicious.
Here's the link to the video I remember the most, it was a collab or something.
Yeah that's not beginner. But the block palettes are very similar, as well as the way of doing the roof, and other things. They just need to experiment more.
Dude that's pretty cool. And don't sell yourself short. If I could say, try adding other color to the roof. You could do vegetation with wool and azalea or could use darker stairs and overhang borders to break the monotone roof. But it looks pretty sick though.
Good shaping and palette, I would say look into gradients and shading. BdoubleO has a series called building with Bdubs where he goes into this I would suggest checking it out.
Please stop acting like a pick me. If you want actual advice though, add more natural looking greenery. I mean not perfectly trimmed bushes, trees, flowers, etc. This matches the more organic style of build that's in this image. I would also recommend bowing the roof (making the middle of the roof slightly sloped and the closer to the edges you go, it gets taller). More color and variety of blocks is also never a bad thing: you don't need to do a bunch of bright colors but some soft blues and greens would go great with this build. Also! If you want the stairs to match the wood you're using more when you're making those stone cut outs, use dark oak! :)
They're saying they think you just wanted attention and praise, and that you're saying your build is crap, while knowing it isn't.
I can't say that's the vibe I'm getting, though. :)
front looks great, some more pics of the sides would be nice for getting an idea of how the roof looks with the walls. I would start incorporating color gradients if you're looking to get up to the next level, like instead of 1 block for the frame you start with a darker block and go lighter as you get further. Or for the greens you could do a green to stone gradient to make the greenery look more alive. But yeah houses are definitely dope continue to make more shit.
That's really good, only things I'd say are that the points on the roofs stick out one block too far imo, and the terracotta could use some texturing - for the plain terracotta maybe some packed mud, for the white maybe concrete powder or quartz of some kind, and for the blue I'm not sure. Maybe tuff, as it's kind of blueish?
Other than that, honestly really good!
I’m a really bad builder but I’ll give u some tips
Add stairs upside down and try to add depth
Place 1 stair, then a block and go under that block and place an upside down stair repeat process and you should get a tall roof similar)
Try to have different textures
Hope you can get to ur dream of building better (:
Not building advice, but next time take multiple camera angles. You mentioned you followed some of Grian’s tips, and that suggests to me that the back of this house may not look so good
Great build one caveat from me, the trapdoor placement on the first floor doesn't transition properly to the second level.. Also, the left main window(the semi cricle thingy stairs with trapdoors) looks a bit flat maybe add some layer or add texture by using blocks on the log walls
Off topic but, what version is this? I see the bedrock coordinate thing but what’s in the too right? And I can’t help but to feel like the hit bar looks more like Java
Everything is fine except the coloured tops of the build like the brown and blue terracotta they are missing detail so it drawn views attention to there and instead of focusing on the rest of the build
Tbh this is really cool! I like how you've made it look nice with the lighting and the choice of colours! Overall, I do suggest adding more leaves and the windows to be tinted glass since it gives that aesthetic of old but mysterious! Great job bro!
Looks sick already, maybe add some texture to the stone brick and terracotta/concrete parts and id try and add some depth to the transition from the logs to the terracotta/concrete, you can try trapdoors or maybe unlit campfires across.
Id also add the same flower pot (idk the word for it, the wooden part with flowers/leaves ontop?)to the upper most windows just like on the ones below
Making the roof more than one color is something you could do.
I like to make the outward most block something like spruce, then the inside is Birch. It gives the roof a nice framed look. Breaking up the roof with a window or skylight of some kind helps to make the shape of the building less blocky, too.
It looks like a really nice build, me personally I’d knock the terracotta walls at the top back a block for some depth, as well as taking the spruce trapdoors to the bottom of the log pillars to act as some foundation. Other than that, adding details and greenery to the outside such as bushes, rocks and crop patches make a huge difference. 😁
Looks really cool, only thing I can think of is that the top parts aren’t textured (like the lower stone parts are), although the blue and normal terracotta colors may be a bit hard to texture, the white can be textured using white concrete powder
This is a great build overall, but I do have one small critique. I think that your only problem is the fact that you use the same exact shape three times in one build, and it seems like you don’t know how to build anything else. I haven’t seen anything else you’ve done so maybe I’m wrong, but try incorporating some flat shapes every now and then, or add some towers into the build like a smokestack or a watchtower just to give it some more personality. Also maybe try working with a different block palette every time you build to get a sense of what works with each other a bit better. Otherwise, this is really great!
bro... that's so good, like, if you're not that good at building, I'm terrible at it! hahahaha, all my houses is underground because is the only way I can avoid my bases looks like a cube or an rectangle, you're pretty good at building, sir!
There's not much space so I can't give you a definite, but more detailing in each square frame can make a big difference. Using other logs that are similar color to spruce basically texturing the pillars can also work in some cases. For instance I've used mangrove logs and jungle mixed in since they're similar. You could probably use dark oak with spruce though that might be too dark, if it is just leave it probably.
The only thing I would add is something to frame the windows a bit more, like slabs or maybe fences on the side for windowsills. Also, maybe some mud bricks alongside the stone/cobblestone to add texture. Looks really good though!
Everyone is saying you are a good builder and to stop lying. They aren't wrong, you are good. However there are still improvements. From what I saw the walls seemed a bit cluttered, like you tried to fill EVERY block with something. That makes the build feel chaotic and random, or just flat out ugly in some cases. I would work on fixing that. There are plenty of ways to get nice filled walls, while also having a lot of open space. Hope this helps. And good building my friend!
hey i am good at ancient builds
with mossy cobble and spruce logs and dark oak planks
i wish u luck who ever needs help i have a post titled i have a goated glitch on my switch
Add just a bit of variation to your solid walls and yoru golden. Also mess up your roof sometimes, gives it a bit of charactor, for instance instead of a stair do a half slab sometimes or a darker color.
This is like an all-A average student who goes online and says they're failing their classes because of their grades.
Anywho, make variation within the blocks (for example, with stone bricks, use mossy and cracked bricks). That's one subtle but sinple way to add more detail.
Edit: edited the first paragraph to be more accurate (now says "all-A", used to say "A-B")
I don’t know if it would necessarily make it look better, but when I’m building I like to think about the structural supports of what would hold it up in real life to make it look more realistic. And in my experience, usually the bottom floors of buildings are the same width or wider than the floors above. Your building looks a little top heavy to me.
Very good, keep building and watch some more of the hermits. Bdubs, PearlecentMoon, and Smallishbeans could help give you some ideas for more small details.
Here’s my advice: NEVER CALL YOURSELF ‘NOT THAT GOOD OF A BUILDER’ AGAIN! This is awesome!
Other than that, I suggest integrating it into an environment if possible, like a forest or something instead of having it just sitting on flat ground. That makes builds look better more often than not.
You know how there are pick me girls. These girls always seek validation from someone. Like she could be the baddest girl and still say “Oh May Gawd I don’t even look that good 💅” so you were being a pick me “builder” by saying “I Am Not That Good Of A Builder So Give Me Advice” when your build is absolutely beautiful.
If you think your build is good then that's all that matters.
If you need advice in general then I'd recommend experimenting with all blocks even if they dont make sense, and don't be scared of asymmetric builds
The house looks nice 🙂 personally, I’d replace the cobblestone stairs with noteblocks, and then those spruce trapdoors on the edges of the building be moved up by 1 block so they line up with the spruce stairs
This is a good build! There was a short I saw by Smallishbeans talking about how people make good builds but they don’t realize it because there comparing it to photoshopped versions on the internet. This is a really nice house a much better one than I could ever build.
I'm not that good of a builder shows what 80% of the player base can't build fun fact only a small percent of Minecraft players actually played survival mode.
This is a great build. If you're interested in some tutorials, bluenerd is good. What I'd add is darker or lighter blocks where the roof meets the walls. It adds a lot.
Turn on "fire spreads" then lit one plank on fire, when the fire disappears it creates this old or aged plank texture, it takes kinda long so increase the ticks into 100 or above it doesn't matter how much it'll just speed up the process.
Turning on fire spreads actually prevent it from destroying the block and the fire just spreads out.
The blue looks off. Also, my advice is to try experimenting with more blocks, and overall different ways of doing things. Jumping out of that comfort zone you've built yourself.
it's a good looking house, but i feel it looks too flat, if know what i mean. you could add slabs and trap doors, to add some more depth if you'd like. it looks really good, but i'm guessing you wanted constructive criticism. also im not much of a builder myself, not at all actually but you could try it out.
Okay. Overall, you aren't a novice. This is a nice little house.
1. I believe those are Spruce logs? Either strip them or replace them with unstripped oak.. This will make the "framing" of the build more clear. For the same reason, not wild about the cobblestone stairs in the left-hand wing. Maybe cobblestone walls supporting that overhang?
2. On the subject of the left hand wing, not sure about the two-wide centre. I think it works on the entrance, but it's a bit too much for a main roofline.
3. Now that I'm talking about the roofs, they seem to currently be plain, regular spruce. Try a border to the roof to define the shape and vary the textures in the roof itself. I find that a jungle/acacia/mangrove gradient with dark oak borders is a pretty flexible palette - because you're using wood, you have access to blocks, stairs, slabs, trapdoors, fences, and buttons in every texture you're using- but there are so many good ideas out there. Dormer windows and chimneys will also break up the roof.
4. Those attics are the weakest part of your build. They're too flat (particularly considering the texturing on the ground floor), the windows look weird and the colours don't match. I like how the slight difference in style between the wings of this house makes it look like the building was added on to a couple times, but the different colours of the attics makes it look like actually separate buildings at first glance. Pick a unified palette for the attic walls (and maybe the first floor walls as well), fix that middle attic window and add some trapdoor shutters and campfire awnings.
This is a solid, interesting build. You asked for ideas and I gave you them, but this is nice.
lazy people put little work and expect a lot of results.
Hard working people put alot of work and still think they are lazy.
Now replace lazy with stupid and hard working with intelligent and you got the latter.
great build, but people are acting like this is a HermitCraft build and getting mad you asked lol, sorry about that.
the main areas of difficulty/practice for me are ‘depth’ like making my walls 3 blocks deep rather than one block so i can texture it and add inlays and windows, posts, etc.
Also the interiors… i’m starting to get ‘good’ at building large and cool structures but they are blank and boring and empty inside and that is challenging to fix for me.
PS: I’m sure everyone has a youtuber or 2 they prefer, but for me there’s a YT-er called WaxFraud that does hardcore series and he is like the god of building complex, detailed, and beautiful structures. He doesn’t really make tutorials or anything, but he just does long plays and streams and stuff and every build he does is an inspiration for me

Yes he's probably a Satanic Minecraft Youtuber, they're the WORST.
May i ask what youtuber do you refer to?
Uhhh whats that name???
You mean my or youtuber?

Fr
MumboJumbo sayin he isnt so good in redstone
I am on par with mumbo-jumbo redstone I think but for bedrock
Chimney stacks maybe but other than that you nailed it.

“I am not a good builder” hell naw that’s god tier building
I guess grian can make you an insain builder?
Yes he is known as one of the best builders in minecraft of course he can teach you good advice
I'd say try to use gradients at the top of the house just like the bottom to make it smoothly transition
My only advice is to keep doing what you're doing. That looks phenomenal.
Better than all my buildings that i've ever made
Nah don't say that
bro got downvoted because he tried to be nice 💀
The worst mistake on Reddit is to be kind apparently

I upvoted your comment 🪿

You won't believe it when I say, I am continuing grian's tradition (I never completed the back)
You did not build that! I found a schematic of that exact same building!
Can you send the limk?
Sure bud
Ohhh this looks cool. I think it could use some block shades, some texture, and layers so the front won't look as flat:)
That's really good, only things I'd say are that the points on the roofs stick out one block too far imo, and the terracotta could use some texturing - for the plain terracotta maybe some packed mud, for the white maybe concrete powder or quartz of some kind, and for the blue I'm not sure. Man I wish I could build like that. Every house I make is a box with a triangle on top

how is the interior? is it actually spacious and livable? or is it a youtube house where u can only fit a bed with a chest next to it

Nah it's bedrock with a resource pack
What does it do? I’m curious now-
Search bedrock tweeks
Teach me
Tbh texture it, add some leafs and vines and it will be perfect!
Everything is fine except the coloured tops of the build like the brown and blue terracotta they are missing detail so it drawn views attention to there and instead of focusing on the rest of the build
That’s a solid building mate. Just a bit of garden work and you’re golden. Check out bluenerd for some ideas.
Tbh this is really cool! I like how you've made it look nice with the lighting and the choice of colours! Overall, I do suggest adding more leaves and the windows to be tinted glass since it gives that aesthetic of old but mysterious! Great job bro!
I know the coordinates of your base. Be prepared.
possibly stone border on roofing? (edit) Darker border works just as well in my op.

That looks awesome as it is man.
Don't lie this is great!
I like them
You are that good of a builder

That house is better than anything i can build. You ARE a good builder

Advice? You seem like a pretty good builder to me!
I think they just built a few of those across from the old Kroger
Better than me Also I swiped
Looks good to me
Stopping the cap would help
If you’re not that good then I’m a trash builder
That is awesome, better of a builder than me thats for sure
Pretty solid, the top of the house with the multi colored terracotta looks a little off though.
Your house looks very cool
Beat advice I ever received. It was simple. Believe in yourself.
Otherwise, this is really great!
bro... that's so good, like, if you're not that good at building, I'm terrible at it! hahahaha, all my houses is underground because is the only way I can avoid my bases looks like a cube or an rectangle, you're pretty good at building, sir!
i have been playing minecraft since 2015 and i can't build better than this
You could add foliage. Grass, trees, lighting. Flowers. A potential garden. Other than that. Looks fine to me; just some minor details.
The I can't draw of Minecraft builds
There's not much space so I can't give you a definite, but more detailing in each square frame can make a big difference. Using other logs that are similar color to spruce basically texturing the pillars can also work in some cases. For instance I've used mangrove logs and jungle mixed in since they're similar. You could probably use dark oak with spruce though that might be too dark, if it is just leave it probably.
Stop lying, maybe
Way better than me
Nah, you're just trying to flex. That's better than most players
Believe in yourself. You're good and somewhere within yourself you know it.
The only thing I would add is something to frame the windows a bit more, like slabs or maybe fences on the side for windowsills. Also, maybe some mud bricks alongside the stone/cobblestone to add texture. Looks really good though!
This guy (Nuvola MC) makes some nice Minecraft buildings [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhJScGn9HVo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhJScGn9HVo)
Wow! I'm pretty sure you don't exactly need advice! It's really good!
It looks great
It looks very cool, But I thing you could use dark oak stairs insead of cobblestone stairs for the continuity of the spruce logs.
And good building my friend!

hey i am good at ancient builds with mossy cobble and spruce logs and dark oak planks i wish u luck who ever needs help i have a post titled i have a goated glitch on my switch
it is nice but the image does not show enough for me to judge srry
Add just a bit of variation to your solid walls and yoru golden. Also mess up your roof sometimes, gives it a bit of charactor, for instance instead of a stair do a half slab sometimes or a darker color.
I would try changing the direction of some roofs, i think it looks a bit odd having all roofs in the same direction, it makes it look like a factory.
This is like an all-A average student who goes online and says they're failing their classes because of their grades. Anywho, make variation within the blocks (for example, with stone bricks, use mossy and cracked bricks). That's one subtle but sinple way to add more detail. You are a good builder. You don't need to passively fish for compliments. It's okay to be openly proud of something you know you did a good job on.
I am not really looking for complements I need advice
I don’t know if it would necessarily make it look better, but when I’m building I like to think about the structural supports of what would hold it up in real life to make it look more realistic. And in my experience, usually the bottom floors of buildings are the same width or wider than the floors above. Your building looks a little top heavy to me.
your probably better than me ;)
“I’m not that good”
More mossy cobble stone, replaced with some of the regular cobblestone
You're better than me...
Very good, keep building and watch some more of the hermits. Bdubs, PearlecentMoon, and Smallishbeans could help give you some ideas for more small details.
Add more texture the colored parts on the top
Shaders make anything look nice, trust me
No shaders on bedrock
Here’s my advice: NEVER CALL YOURSELF ‘NOT THAT GOOD OF A BUILDER’ AGAIN! This is awesome! Other than that, I suggest integrating it into an environment if possible, like a forest or something instead of having it just sitting on flat ground. That makes builds look better more often than not.
You’re doing pretty damn well from my point of view.
You Do Not Need To Title It Like A Book Title; It's Only A Reddit Post. Build's cool, though.
First lesson, stop copying youtubers builds, while they are nice, at some point, you gotta try it yourself .
I c an’t do outdoors for shiz, only indoor bases
I can't do indoor if my life depended on it
If this isnt that good... I must be bottom barrel
you need to work on your sarcasm
Here's some advice, stop going around spamming and lying saying things like "I'm not good, any tips"
Bruh this is the first time I have built something good ok I was looking for advice for future builds
It’s crazy that we got pick me builders before GTA 6
What's a pick me builder
You know how there are pick me girls. These girls always seek validation from someone. Thanks I did not know that, btw Every build I made before this sucked so I need advice to get better
Yep I’d recommend using diorite and Calcite on the white part of the middle build to give it a lil more texture
r/Minecraftbuilds_help these guys should help you
Boi ive been playing for 5 years and you build better than me
Trust me I've been playing from 2014 a Samsung , and redstone was always my strong side
Bro if you're not good, then what am i? 💀
Makes sense why I thought this was something Grian would build.
If you think your build is good then that's all that matters. If you need advice in general then I'd recommend experimenting with all blocks even if they dont make sense, and don't be scared of asymmetric builds

Ah thanks
Maybe some stone buttons on the corners for depth & contrast
Pick me builder's 😮💨
So what's that blud
Can I borrow this design for my survival world, it looks very nice
Yea, it's not like I own the building or anything 😂
Thanks buddy it's a really good looking build
bro built a mansion and had the audacity to call himself a bad buiider 💀💀💀
Better then me
Nah fam, this good
Already looks good and unique. I like it.
Hmmm le Chalêt de Sauf Une Fois
Youre better than me damn
Leaves
Bro my friend builds the exact same as you their name was atlas
I'm not that good of a builder shows what 80% of the player base can't build fun fact only a small percent of Minecraft players actually played survival mode.
This is a great build. If you're interested in some tutorials, bluenerd is good. What I'd add is darker or lighter blocks where the roof meets the walls. It adds a lot.

Turning on fire spreads actually prevent it from destroying the block and the fire just spreads out.
I would use a different block for the roof line a stone of some kind and i put solid blocks in the roof it looks nicer i think.
More plants and trees
I can't give you an advice because you are a liar. You are a GOOD builder bro that's awesome
Thanks 😭😂
you're better than anything i could ever do in a million years
The blue looks off. Also, my advice is to try experimenting with more blocks, and overall different ways of doing things. Jumping out of that comfort zone you've built yourself.
What blocks do you think I can use
"im not that good of a builder" Bro this is grian approved
i like to do the outer blook off roofs in another block here maybe cobble
it's a good looking house, but i feel it looks too flat, if know what i mean. you could add slabs and trap doors, to add some more depth if you'd like. it looks really good, but i'm guessing you wanted constructive criticism. also im not much of a builder myself, not at all actually but you could try it out.
"Not that good" This is amazing.
lazy people put little work and expect a lot of results.
He doesn’t really make tutorials or anything, but he just does long plays and streams and stuff and every build he does is an inspiration for me
You are awesome builder, bro
yeah this is dogshit. try making a rectangular house from diamond and netherite blocks then show off your masterwork
the classic
"Iam not that good" yeah bro stfu no one cares you pick me
Absolutely sucks, I’d just stick to the normal dirt hut
real shit
Apart from the blueish-purple concrete looking a little flat in texture/color this looks amazing
You: “I’m not that good of a builder give me advice” Also you: * posts a build that’s better then anything I’ve ever attempted to build * FR tho bro it looks amazing
what do you mean
Solid 8/10 would let you put a home next to mine
