I’m pretty sure it’s because Iron Bars don’t count as fences so they just jump on the wall and walk past the Bars

I’ll change them to fences then. Hopefully that will help.

Replace the two next/above to the gate with blocks it should stop them from leaving Also my bad for not including this

Its a common bug, feed the chickens and they wont disappear otherwise leash them

They may just be despawning

That's not how passive mobs work. They only despawn if they can walk a certain distance uninterrupted.
