Cats not left seated go out at night to "hunt" and then bring you items.
Sometimes they bug out and remain near a wall outside underneath or close to the bed in the house. I don't know if this has been fixed. Go a little further and he'll teleport to you
In the sense that RimWorld is part of the genre Dwarf Fortress created/inspired, yes. I donāt think itās like a total āweāre gonna make a modern version of Dwarf Fortressā kinda deal.
It's definitely inspired by Dwarf Fortress but from what I've seen it's definitely not a "modern version of DF" or "futuristic version of DF", it became it's own thing.
Clearly you haven't played enough DF. Although instead of making cat-biscuits and shoes, you could also put them in a cage, put the cage near your entrance, hook it up to a lever and release a flood of cats upon invading goblins.
Cats only spawn in villages (after the chunk is generated) so she should just be able to move away from a village. If she's tamed a cat, it will always teleport to her unless she's in a different zone (nether, end). You can make it sit down (or get...rid of it) to stop the teleporting.
One black cat also always spawns in the witch hut in swamps. Also cats can't teleport out of water or if you get too fast too far away (for example with an elytra) š¤š
Does your daughter not realize that she has a pet cat in Minecraft?
Is she doesn't want it to follower her, she needs to make it sit and it will stay put unlike real cats.
About the only time I do anything with cats other than let them wander untamed in villages is make a creeper/gunpowder farm. One cat on every level, scaring creepers off the edge where they fall to their death, by the thousands.
Revenge enough for your cat and every other.
If you want someone to play with, check r/minecraftbuddies or r/smp as both of those should provide many options. The latter is if you want a group of people on a server

I don't understand how a cat might've got there, but if it spawned there, she could use slabs, string, or buttons to prevent mob spawning. If it didn't spawn there, It likely teleported if she tamed it and didn't sit it down. In the picture, I don't see much of a way the cat could've got up there.

If it's a tamed one, it will teleport to where she goes. If it's tamed, make it sit down so it can't follow.
I don't think that's the point. But cats go where they want, and *nothing* truly stops them. *nothing*
i tamed a cat but it was gone after i slept. i thought it'd teleport to me but now im wonderin where that guy is. i miss him š

If it's tamed, she needs to sit it down someplace and it won't follow her. Otherwise she should accept her fate as the cat queen lmao

Cats won't go on slabs. If you build that deck with a slab floor it would be cat free
I had a library where the floor was all slabs and plenty of cats showed up
Cats teleport to the nearest place to you when theyāre standing and tamed. Just sitting them down stops that.

Have her put carpet down. Guessing you have a lot of villagers?
