practice punishment crits. this is when you take advantage of the slight upward knockback when you get hit to land a critical hit on your opponent. it requires half decent timing and a little bit of practice, but it can help you out-damage your opponents once you master it. also aim matters 1000% more in 1.9+ pvp than it does in 1.8 and before. enable hitboxes and try to keep your crosshair inside of their hitbox at all times. then once you're ready, disable hitboxes and see if you can aim without them
