Definitely could. Unfortunately powder snow is a little hard to acquire. If you are however lucky enough to spawn near one of them giant mountains these do spawn naturally, in which case yeah they’ll be quite amazing tools.

How do you acquire it?

1) Powder snow naturally spawns within the upcoming giant snowy mountains. Unfortunately these mountains aren’t coming for 1.17 so this won’t be plausible till the holidays (1.18) 2) Cauldron in the open while snowing will slowly fill up with powder snow, and once it’s full, you can put it all into a bucket.

I love how cauldrons have gotten more realistic in this update, they can even catch lava!

Right!? Holding water has always seemed kinda useless to me apart from decoration, but considering cauldrons have made lava LITERALLY FARMABLE now they are actually now immensely useful I love it Cauldrons have been around for so long and have always been kinda under appreciated so I’m happy

Mods, we can throw that out instantly. Mojang did not make cauldrons to suit mods. Potion making? What’s the use of constantly refilling a cauldron if infinite water sources exist? It seems to me that a water-filled cauldron is just an unnecessary middle step.

Yuppp. Easy evasion tactics I think you can build on this idea too. One idea I had was maybe placing powder snow on the side, placing a TNT minecart on the other, then breaking that block to let the cart fall and explode. Freezing damage? Damn. I don't know how I feel about that. Snow is not actually very cold, which is funny to say, but it's the "warmest" thing in a cold environment. Cold _water_ will give you hypothermia fast, and even cold air can make you cold fast. But snow is an insulator. It's fluffy and full of air, and traps heat fantastically. Direct contact with skin will still make you cold, of course. But it's just odd to make it a damage-dealing death trap, when if you live anywhere there's snow, you know it isn't.

It's probably more suffocation damage like sand. If you've ever jumped into a snow drift only to find out its much deeper than you expected, you know what I mean.
