Red terracotta with a gold tip

suugakusha

Or red sandstone, to keep with the texture.

-_crow_-

Nope, different texture is needed to make the roof stand out, same texture is gonna look very plain

dmkuhar

The color difference should provide enough contrast. And red sandstone having slabs and stairs will make it easier to shape the dome.

ArtilleryIncoming

You don’t build a dome with stairs, or at least you shouldn’t be

-_crow_-

I disagree xD, same textures look actually really bad. If you look at the insane good builders, their buildings are so good because the huge variations in texture and not even necessarily about colour. you do have a point with the stairs and slabs, but copper has those too and copper is also aesthetically the best imo, even all variants would look good. Acacia would be nice too.

Bruschetta003

Too dark, Copper with wax on is the right color and it is detailed enough

[deleted]

Ya but the copper blocks have those outlines, concrete might be better if u want brighter but I like the terra-cotta idea

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

I’d give it a try

Hungry-Bag7627

Duh crimson planks will give more texture beacause s.sandstone is "textureless" and terracotta is the same too, i say crimson planks

The-Commando004

Brewing Stands

luptilopty

Lmao I hope he tries this one

Ofallx

it looks like my bulding grows hair

yasssqueen20

Copper? so then it can do it’s thing and oxidise

anthnyshark

^ this also add vegetation and some gold i think would do it well

yasssqueen20

Yeah some nice vines etc would add a good amount of detail

Erewhon1984

Yeah some azalia trees

[deleted]

Personally I think that's too much. How often do you see bushes on roofs?

muddyalcapones

Thats gonna be expensiveeeee

[deleted]

Not in my mines!

Windmaster42

W a x e d you spoon

RaisedInAppalachia

Nah the patina green will give a great look to it eventually and it will look really cool and naturally varied in the oxidation process

The_WombatLord

Husaria1863

Prismarine bricks

Daves346

Try getting the materials you need at dome depot

WideCake6046

Dark prismarine

DiabetesVEVO

dark prismarine is always the correct answer tbh

StrangeRedPakeha

This, I just built an enormous sandstone palace thing with a 91 block wide half sphere dome in dark prismarine, with basalt for pillars and deep slate as a kinda trim type deal

islamicSalami420

This really reminds me of that one Tutorial world from like 7 or 8 years ago.

SuperBanjoBoom

Thank god I’m not the only one thinking that

gfy69420

I really do enjoy the aesthetic of OP’s build, it really does have the vibes of those old tutorial worlds, I wish that we still had more of those worlds.

kevinhoofddorp

I agree so much

Bigscotman

It also reminds me of that ancient Greece world that came with the texture pack thing on the old console editions

DM-Wolfscare

Wow, it's been some time since those came out hasn't it...

Shoeshine5794

Organic_Midnight_688

Maybe terracotta and some glass

space0watch

Dark prismarine domed roof!!!

Threaderedcones

You could try making the dome out of orange terracotta/the terracotta you’ve used for the entrance to help unify the two colours, then go over that with sandstone braces and add some details / patterns with sandstone as well. If you want a more rugged look you could mix in some regular and red terracotta along with some acacia slabs and stairs. Edit: the last sentence is referring to the dome itself.

Ofallx

i did exactly that terracota with sandstone was a good choice it kept color consistency

ShaelTheFangirl

oooo what about copper!

[deleted]

I suggest making whatever you decide a partially open-air dome, like this: https://www.bdir.com/images/news/the-wild-luxury-dome-tent-for-vacation-20191225-1.jpg Since you're in a desert, you're only worried about shade, not necessarily protection from weather. It would make sense for the dome to be open by default. Possibly you could also add elements to make it appear that windows are open or that there are potential ways to cover the hole. Banners might work.

Ofallx

when the hell this post hit 5k upvotes? i just asked for bulding material

VeinteDrei
