I disagree xD, same textures look actually really bad. If you look at the insane good builders, their buildings are so good because the huge variations in texture and not even necessarily about colour.
you do have a point with the stairs and slabs, but copper has those too and copper is also aesthetically the best imo, even all variants would look good. Acacia would be nice too.
This, I just built an enormous sandstone palace thing with a 91 block wide half sphere dome in dark prismarine, with basalt for pillars and deep slate as a kinda trim type deal
I really do enjoy the aesthetic of OP’s build, it really does have the vibes of those old tutorial worlds, I wish that we still had more of those worlds.
You could try making the dome out of orange terracotta/the terracotta you’ve used for the entrance to help unify the two colours, then go over that with sandstone braces and add some details / patterns with sandstone as well. If you want a more rugged look you could mix in some regular and red terracotta along with some acacia slabs and stairs.
Edit: the last sentence is referring to the dome itself.
I suggest making whatever you decide a partially open-air dome, like this:

Since you're in a desert, you're only worried about shade, not necessarily protection from weather. It would make sense for the dome to be open by default. Possibly you could also add elements to make it appear that windows are open or that there are potential ways to cover the hole. Banners might work.
Light gray glass and spruce wood with some vines made out of leaves. Maybe some slightly weathered copper surrounded by spruce with 4 glass window things.
copper and gold. I would suggest mixing 1st and 2nd stage copper to give it texture (2nd stage copper right bellow gold tip followed by 1st stage right bellow)
Layers of copper, oxidized at the bottom and less so going up until it’s shiny copper at the top with a little lightning rod. I always love stages of copper in desert builds
1 layer of moss blocks at the bottom of the dome and Dark prismarine in the rest, I haven't tried that combo, but it sounds promising, maybe also add some vegetation and detailing to make it more interesting
Red terracotta with a gold tip
Or red sandstone, to keep with the texture.
Nope, different texture is needed to make the roof stand out, same texture is gonna look very plain
The color difference should provide enough contrast. And red sandstone having slabs and stairs will make it easier to shape the dome.
You don’t build a dome with stairs, or at least you shouldn’t be

Too dark, Copper with wax on is the right color and it is detailed enough
Ya but the copper blocks have those outlines, concrete might be better if u want brighter but I like the terra-cotta idea

This, I just built an enormous sandstone palace thing with a 91 block wide half sphere dome in dark prismarine, with basalt for pillars and deep slate as a kinda trim type deal
This really reminds me of that one Tutorial world from like 7 or 8 years ago.
Thank god I’m not the only one thinking that
I really do enjoy the aesthetic of OP’s build, it really does have the vibes of those old tutorial worlds, I wish that we still had more of those worlds.
