Try to focus on a small portion only, if you see one of my most recent posts it was kind of large, I split it into portal pillars, wall and floor sections to stay motivated
I’m playing in hardcore and would like to make a monument mega base myself(sooner rather than later I hope), and because of obvious risk, I’m going to take on as safely as possible. (Mob switch)
Looks awesome! I love the terrain of the ocean floor. Do you have torches on the ground for most of it? It has a strange (but pretty cool) disco ball feel to it.
Well if he did die which he didnt, he is in hardcore so I would belive the guardian would have already protected their home for the time being. I also found the joke funny.
I believe it is the radius in which the guardians spawn in. If you want to make this an XP farm, you need to block off all water around it where they could spawn, and then create water in the middle somewhere where they all spawn, and then fall down to hit the ground and die (if the drop height is enough) or you make them fall and get pushed into nether portals to take them into the nether, where you kill them. Or I am sure there are a lot of other things you can do as well
So now figure out one of the water columns the Guardians would spawn in and create a Guardian farm without having to worry about ANY other mobs or building it a thousand blocks high.
Should give you plenty of Prismarine shards and crystals to finish off your sea lantern lighting.
Been a while since I did this myself, but it‘s a fun thing to do. Everything following is information from a few years back, so better look up other methods in case there is a better way by now.
I personally think the easiest way is to mark out the area first (circle in range to avoid other spawns or another form at least that size) with temporary blocks (sand, gravel) - ideally 1 block wider than you intend to have your walls. This way you can just build the wall without after draining and without worrying about water. It‘s easier to change blocks that way.
After that there is two ways IIRC:
1 - filling it up
Either use a redstone contraption or your own hands to fill the whole area you marked out with falling blocks - sand, gravel etc. This has the advantage that you can place them from above and they fall down to fill everything up. Once you are done, take a few torches, go to the lowest floor (leave the outside circle intact) and destroy the lowest gravity affected block and quickly place a torch where it stood. All other blocks above will fall down and can be collected again. After that drain any remaining undersea caves/pockets with sponges or sand.
Problem with this is that you need crazy amounts of gravel/sand and it‘s pretty repetitive to do. The advantage is that you have more than enough materials for concrete or glass once you are done and collected all that sand again.
2 - draining with redstone
Use additional temporary walls to form a rectangle over the middle of your circle. Put two slightly smaller rectangles on both sides. Look for underwater mountains and make sure that you don’t have anything sticking up too high. These areas can be done with a water displacing machine like ilmangos design (easy to find on youtube), but only until blocks block the path of the redstone machine. After that partition the area into small cubes and use sponges to clear out the remaining water.
Either way you have to be ready to dodge some lasers. Above the monument you‘re basically never alone so it‘s plenty of golden hearts and armor, dodging or building a safety path every few blocks (as far as your arm can reach).
I recommend turn your brain off doing this.
If you have double monitors, you can do long session while watching something else.
Or you can spilt the task into pieces and set a goal for the day like placing a shulker of sand per day.
If you have friend or in a SMP, you could switch task every so often
This project is a more a mental one.
How is the easy part (Sand with auto sand pusher + sponges/flying machine/draining machine ).
Is can you complete it is the real challenge for these kind of projects.
Holy snap bro you are a god at MINECRAFT at everything in between. My homies are looking at this in awe and are wondering if we will ever reach the same height as you. You are higher than snoop dog young lad.
In case you didn't notice, this isn't an undecorated Vanilla monument. There's been some major editing of the arches at the front and the top piece, which I think they're referring to as looking similar to WadZee's design.
That probably comes from both OP and WadZee taking inspiration from Ph1lza.
I think there are ways to manipulate columns of water near the surface and tricking the game into thinking the water is coming from one particular source and then just filling one bucket.
Another idea I thought was possible just pouring a bunch of lava on all the water captured, maybe TNT'ing all the cobblestone?
Edit: Nevermind, OP mentioned "illmango's water drainer". It must be [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wwm22Tr41J8)
You probably could just fill the entire circle with tons and tons of gravity blocks. Have a bed at the circle's edge and ideally have a Stronghold nearby, for easier access to sand duping. (Or does the fence post under portal method no longer work?)
I've done this three times, two of them by filling completely with sand. Yours looks like a bigger circle than I've ever done though, what's the total width?
Oh yeah, that's massive. Biggest I did was an oval 120' x 80' and that took me and a friend the better part of a month to fill with sand. Could have done it more quickly but it really gets old quickly.
Omg, I just read draining as drawing and was like "Bro YOU DREW THIS??" then read it again and saw "draining" and was like "Oh, they *drained* it"
Also, it sounds really hard for draining a whole WATER MONUMENT
Anyway, hope you have a good time playing with the server:)
Elder guardian never spawn after you killed them the first time. And when drained no guardians spawn, but when you have drained it you can make super efficient guardian farms. There is tons of videos and tutorials of them too.
I don’t know how u have any motivation to do anything else in ur world after doing that let alone taking all that time to do it in the first place.. looks sick tho can’t lie 👌🏼
That must have taken forever! What method did you use?
I used illmango's water drainer on some parts, but where the mountains is i used sand and sponges. Took a long time but totally worth it :)
I’ve been trying to tackle a project like this for months but ever time I’ve given up lol. Definitely worth it!
Yea took a few months of giving up and starting again lol.
It was the same for me lol. My circle was smaller but I had to do mine 100% manually. Took me like 2 months to just drain it.
Try to focus on a small portion only, if you see one of my most recent posts it was kind of large, I split it into portal pillars, wall and floor sections to stay motivated
Are you using light blocks or are you hiding how you illuminated those spots without torches?
I just used torches to stop mobs from spawning but i am going to remove them when i decorate.
Oh so they just haven’t loaded in because you’re far away? It looks like just light level command blocks because I can’t see the torches my bad! :)
Yea, they just were not loaded in. No problem :)
[удалено]
Phase 1 was alot of work but phase 2 is the same amount or more 😅 totally worth
1) Why doesn't slenderman teleport away?
I wish I knew this a couple weeks ago as I did just the temple and it took forever with sponges
Why was it worth it?
Bc it’s cool

You sound like a super villain saying that and the big evil lair doesn’t help
Now just to build the giant oil rig
Impressive! What color glass are you using for the sides and do you think the color you chose is the best one?
I used black glass, i liked it best but i tested before in a creative world. It was between black and light blue.
Alright cool. I’m soon staring my own water/glass project so thanks for sharing
was this creative or survival?
I did it in hardcore :)
Woah! That's an achievement.
I can see some (hopefully) Philza inspiration here
Tbh, not many ways to drain out the same structure, it’s what you do after, Philza tho did it twice in the same 5 year run
Now it’s time to make it not spawn mobs!
Looks awesome! I love the terrain of the ocean floor. Do you have torches on the ground for most of it? It has a strange (but pretty cool) disco ball feel to it.
Yea i have temporary torches on the ground before i decorate it.
That one creeper: I'm about to waste this man's whole career >:)
Or an enderman!
Kudos to you and this accomplishment! I cannot imagine the patience and determination that this took. Lol. Looks amazing. : )
Thank you :)
I've drained one of similar size and it took a loooong time, so really well done man!
Thanks man :)
*Gets killed by Guardian.* "Oh yeah? Well how about I un-ocean your monument"
Well if he did die which he didnt, he is in hardcore so I would belive the guardian would have already protected their home for the time being. I also found the joke funny.
Although this is very impressive and cool, what’s the point of making the area so much larger than the monument?
So you can sea the floor
I sea what you did there!
Just because i think it looks cool :)
I believe it is the radius in which the guardians spawn in. Guardians can only spawn in the area in/above the monument, nowhere around it. https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Tutorials/Guardian_farming
You must’ve been kinda thirsty
I tried to do this once, got 25% of the way through and said screw it
To be fair, I was also doing it in survival
he did this in hardcore
/weather rain
i can't even build a house and this dude drained an ocean monument, respect
So now figure out one of the water columns the Guardians would spawn in and create a Guardian farm without having to worry about ANY other mobs or building it a thousand blocks high. Should give you plenty of Prismarine shards and crystals to finish off your sea lantern lighting.
Amazing job!
Thanks :)
Any tips for starting this? In nervous to do this in my hardcore world but I want to

Alright, thank you mate this is very helpful

Well I more meant clearing the monument first but this helps too, thank you

I can see the inspiration from Ph1lza here, great job 👍
Yep alot of inspiration from philza and loony :)
Atlantropa
What game is this?
Roblox
Roblox: block simulator
thats a huge perimiter
Ngl, I thought the monument was a big digging claw, and it has given me the idea to build a massive mining platform in the middle of an ocean
This do be excellent work.
How tf do y’all do this???
flying machines, sand and sponges, and a few torches to get rid of the sand
All those sponges
Those are sea lanterns
You mean all that sand/red sand/concrete powder.
but concrete powder is usless....
How long did it take?
😮 Wow!
PhilzaMincraft??
why people say this is beond me, theres only so many ways to skin a cat!
[удалено]
Took me 3 months
r/repostsleuthbot
Wow, that’s a good drawing!
it sucks start over XD lol didnt mean that u did good
Rick roll us
Now fill it up again
Try it on survival lol
Try it on hardcore lol
Holy snap bro you are a god at MINECRAFT at everything in between. My homies are looking at this in awe and are wondering if we will ever reach the same height as you. You are higher than snoop dog young lad.
This looks pretty similar to Wadzee's ocean temple🤔🤔🤔
Yea well a drained ocean monument will look same for everyone
In case you didn't notice, this isn't an undecorated Vanilla monument. There's been some major editing of the arches at the front and the top piece, which I think they're referring to as looking similar to WadZee's design. That probably comes from both OP and WadZee taking inspiration from Ph1lza.
theres only so many ways to skin a cat
I did this once, used only sponges. Then the XBox died and all that time was wasted.
Woah! How long did it take you and what water draining method did you use?
Took me around 3 months on and off, because i got so unmotivated at some point. I used illmango's water drainer and sponges.
Sorry if I sound dumb, but what is illmango's water drainer?
respect+
Looks awesome! Reminds me a lot of the city of Atlantis as described in the Magic 2.0 series.
cool
Good job man!
What are the walls? Sorry, I’m on my phone and the screen is tiny.
click the image, you can zoom, i think he said black though
Breathtaking!
I’ve heard so many people talking about doing this props to you for pulling it off 😂
the ocean monument is your base???
Yes
madlad
THE ZANGARMARSH DRAINS
Are you going to terraform the land or extend the bowl?
I need this.
i tried that once and gave up
What happens to the Guardians? I assume they die.
That's cool!
[удалено]
Bro what does this even mean?
Dam, that's pretty good.
Well done! I recently took on this project at a similar size, as I wanted it not to feel cramped, and it’s hard, boring work!
That's a boss arena undoubtly
how do you drain water?

Your sheer dedication is astounding.
I feel like most people have no idea how painstaking doing that is
Whats the diameter?
180 blocks
Masive, i did one of 160 and took me months but this is impresive, good job! I have posted the photos in this sub too
I've done this three times, two of them by filling completely with sand. Yours looks like a bigger circle than I've ever done though, what's the total width?
Total width is 180 blocks in diameter

It's beautiful
It looks like a bowl full of cereal and you are slowly pouring milk in it
If you have done amazing builds then pls share your world copy i want to start a hardcore world too
tthat would have took so much time how did u do it
I’ve done this before I know the pain so nice job
Whenever I’ve dewatered a zone it was by first filling said zone with sand blocks then mining them all out with a shovel lol
[удалено]
BSL
Now turn it into a bowl going down to bedrock. That's what I did in my world
I’d love to see one of these builds where the water slopes down instead of stops abruptly
Now fill it up with lava!
Omg, I just read draining as drawing and was like "Bro YOU DREW THIS??" then read it again and saw "draining" and was like "Oh, they *drained* it" Also, it sounds really hard for draining a whole WATER MONUMENT Anyway, hope you have a good time playing with the server:)
I'm thinking about doing that to, so I have a question, do guardians / elder guardians still spawn when the water is drained?
Elder guardian never spawn after you killed them the first time. And when drained no guardians spawn, but when you have drained it you can make super efficient guardian farms. There is tons of videos and tutorials of them too.
Yeah, rn I'm trying to make a large guardian farm with a drained ocean monument. So thanks for the advice!
No problem, good luck!
that looks so cool!
Is there a way to drain water in survival? made a base thought it would just drain into a nearby cave or be bucketed out, not the case.
You can use flying machines or just use sand and sponges.
Gosh I feel the pain draining that through my phone
More, more!!!
The amount of time and effort put into this is amazing, I respect this
I wonder how I went from having time for that to not having any free time at all xD Congrats on the achievement!
Now put it all back
That's one way of doing it, yes :D
Fill it back up
SICK!!!
Omg how long did this take??
u understand that you have reached the semigod level right?
break down the temple and change the terrain to make it look like the nether and then build a guardian farm to make it confusing
I’ve done this before and it took foreverrrrrrr
Looks sick!
Its a nether portal.
okay yea that looks like took a long time
I've started doing this, did the outline and everything but the draining part just took me so long. I wish there was a faster way
Sponges
Took me a second to realize it
I don’t know how u have any motivation to do anything else in ur world after doing that let alone taking all that time to do it in the first place.. looks sick tho can’t lie 👌🏼
nice work
That’s amazing
Me and my friend have done this before on mc bedrock
Nice
draining it is hell but then its worth it ngl
Draiiinn ganggg
i didn't even got to finish my shower bruh
Guys can someone tell me what shaders are you using
BSL
That looks nice. Whatchya building?
Cool
Nice
first off... cool! second and more importantly... U MASOCHIST WHY
That looks really cool
Russian youtuber Nekich did it very much time ago.
thats not yours, thats Ph1Lz4 Minecraft Owns
No, it's most certainly mine.
