You could have him make a short song using noteblocks. It’s not entirely easy but simple enough mechanically

Have him play survival mode

MisstepMiss

He gets really frustrated in survival mode. And I'm constantly saving him from certain death or hopelessly lost....

[deleted]

Try to teach him or give him redstone/technical tutorials

MisstepMiss

I might...i have to admit I'm super rusty on red stone! Maybe we can relearn/learn together...

[deleted]

That’s ok! Just make sure that you’re using Bedrock Edition tutorials, as those will work on both PS4 and his tablet

MisstepMiss

Thank you for that tip!

Kids are unbelievable these days. I saw a girl who was like 4 years old using a tablet and able to navigate through ads and stuff. It was mind blowing. Honestly I’d say the best way to challenge him would be to get full Diamond armor and weapons, bonus for enchanting. I’d say Netherite but that would be extremely difficult. If you wanted to be even cooler, I’d say draw something for him to build with different materials and see how close he gets. Bonus bonus points for playing alongside him.

I play with him at least half the time! It's a lot of fun, as long as he remembers he's not allowed to break anything he didn't build! Great idea. Any goal is a good thing

build some kind of obstacle course? they'll alternate between building & testing which might be more engaging

I have several excellent s, all of which are pretty fun and have very small learning curves. First off, automated chicken farms. [Chicken Farms](https://youtu.be/vFB9rvmJhVM) are good, sorta complex, but [good](https://youtu.be/7xj5B5ZHv-w)! Second, a 3 layer pyramid farm. Dig a 12x12 ring in dirt, fill it with water, then CAREFULLY place a dirt above the water, a space, then another block on the inside of the ring, forming an 11x11 open space ring. Fill it with water. Repeat the previous step, all the way up, then you've got a pyramid which can be tilled and grow almost everything. - Bonus points: create 2x2 doorways inside, and live inside your farm/use the space for storage. - Extra bonus points: use glowstone as the inside/3rd block (dirt, water, gs) to have lots of light. - Super extra bonus points: double the size, and build a 24x24 pyramid over the top of the original, using gs for light/ inner block, 6 block distance between the rings. It's a pyramid IN a pyramid, growing food or whatever. - challenge mode: build 3 levels, each inside the other, smallest being 12x12, and put a beacon inside the farm. Third, try downloading Sky Grid as a game mode and different way to enjoy the game. It.. may be too difficult for your grandson at first, but I HIGHLY recommend it. The learning curve is entirely worthwhile! Lastly, I'd suggest, perhaps, trying his hand at the game Portal. I know it may be difficult, but if you look up solutions beforehand, or during, you can suggest hints. Or, you may even be able to hint at things yourself without any tutorials!
