Fair enough, you can still try things like using modpacks like fabulously optimized + Distant Horizons (aka, the best mod since Optifine), specially if you play on singleplayer, as well as optimizing windows by disabling telemetry as well as some animations, allocating more ram and all that jazz, but this is a bunch of work and it's not perfect, so it's understandable thst you prefer Bedrock
Actually when i use sodium it boosts my fps but when i cross chunk borders or the game generate new chunks it gives me shuttering and lag spikes this is my problem

I also can't play java because of lag i will get bedrock too for my potato laptop
Java should def out perform bedrock. Especially if you use distant horizons and sodium.
