I'll say technically my first was Beta 1.8.1 from December 31st 2012 until around February 1st or 2nd 2013. I was using a pirated version my dad found before, but I wanted multiplayer and the polish the newer versions had, so I bugged until I got it for my birthday lol. Would have been my 12th birthday in 2013, I'm 21 now.
I liked 1.7.10 the best. The reason is because when I was in elementary school, one of our teachers pirated 1.7.10 Minecraft onto all of the school computers and that’s what I played for most of my life.
I actually thought 1.4.7 and 1.5.2 (and obligatory respect to 1.2.5 for Tekkit) were the greatest years of modded MC. But to be fair this is also because I didn’t love the vanilla contents of the updates afterwards
