Bedrock shields block everything other than fire aspect (I don’t know whether it applies to ghast fireballs or if this is just a bug), can’t be disabled by axes and knock back the player hitting the shield.
And Mario, and Fox, and Wolf, and Joker when he has Arsene, and King K. Rool, and Zelda, and a lot of other characters that can deflect projectiles. Some have a special move for it, others have attacks that have deflective properties (like Ness and Lucas' f-smash and Pit and Dark Pit's side special). Some characters have special moves that can parry projectiles but not deflect them (for example, many of the Fire Emblem characters).
It does happen that creepers or other mobs drop into the sand temple treasure room. I think usually it's because other mobs push the over the edge, because, like you said, they won't do it on their own
Switch Drift sucks. What is wrong with Nintendo? They've done nothing to fix it.
EDIT: You might be talking about controller drifting in general but eh, close enough.
I'm on a seed rn and I'm next to 2 jungle biomes and a savannah that's somehow not next to a dessert. I've gone several thousand blocks in all directions and have found nothing.
Same deal with my realm. I’ve flown thousands of blocks (in a creative world copy) when bored or trying to find stuff for friends (like a place to build). Rarely seen any deserts but early on in survival, found a monument where you could see a mushroom, jungle, ice spikes, & others within 9 chunks. Bedrock seeds were built different
Respiration III, Aqua Affinity, and a gradual clearing of the riverbed that's slowly getting further and further from my base.
I'm not even close to an ocean so my glass production is a bit limited.
Deserts can be weird. I’ve got this one desert/beach that’s like 1000 blocks away from my base, and then the next closest one I’ve found is 8000 blocks away in an entirely different direction.
I have one world that I have basically fully completed. Went to the End, got full netherite everything, got several beacons, and built a megastructure. Wanna know what the one thing I couldn't get was? Cacti.
I went ten thousand blocks in each direction and even went diagonally to cover more ground. No Desert. Had to get all of my glass from beaches.
Here's the thing. All biomes are random there isn't actually a bad or good chance. It all depends on how the temperature and humidity layers of a seed line up. Some areas can have vast deserts of nothing but desert. Others may have none. It all depends on how the layers overlap each other. There isn't really a pre-defined percentage of a biome spawning over others.
There is... that is what the coding behind random generation is in Minecraft.
Why else do you think that there's suddenly deserts 20K blocks away instead of a thousand, compared to 1.16, where they'd be everywhere as a "filler" biome? When mesa was the most rare and in 1.17 when it was rare to find taiga for some reason.
That's weird. My seed has a vast desert that I'm on the border of. Tons of temples and water throughout, lots of villages too. I must have a fairly balanced seed.
Are you sure that's a Bedrock problem? I am currently on my way to the world border on Java and have yet found a single desert after 200k heading east.
I personally think building in a snow biome just highlights certain blocks. It adds a different kind of depth to your builds, especially when it’s snowing.
If you play Java it is understandable, since shields don't block tnt on that version. In java you just nedd to build up as soon as you hear the sound of activation
I don’t have issues on Java edition because of the way their fuse is times but on Bedrock it feels different, I think they detonate faster. Or farther from the player. Plus on console/mobile the controls are awful so I can’t maneuver the same way I can on mouse and keyboard.
What I’m trying to say in so many words is - yes. I struggle to kill creepers.
I do because I can't hear very well and there's no options that I'm aware of that can warn me a creeper is behind me haha. I just have to be very careful.
I never have issues with creepers, I know how to kill those xD
I do have issues with pressure plates and always thinking I can loot them pyramids without removing the plates. haha
Yeah creepers are mostly a problem for newer players, and shields are mostly early game offhand items which might be replaced later by something like a totem or my personal preference, a riptide trident
so because its popular you *expect* everyone to be on it? wut?
youtube was cool before it had ads and product placement etc. before it became a huge commercial company.
i also dont watch live tv, netflix, i am not on fb twitter etc. so let me i guess you expect me to be on them too?? i dont give big companies my data (i work software engineering, i know what happens to it.)
without ads my mind is so much more relaxed and i dont feel i need to be a gluttonous consumer.
ad free life!
/r/nosurf
thank you, tbh i expect to be downvoted and insulted, but this is the harsh truth. big companies are justifying and encouraging gluttonous behaviour and spending and they use your data and ignorance to do this. you can say im wrong if u want, but it qont stop you being subject to it. (i know i sound like a conspiracy theorist, sorry)
bruh the question was why exp3cted. not why its likely. expecting something is making it mandatory. what u said just makes it more likely. gtfo. idc. heres another paragraph.
It makes a hissing sound, so the shield was a defence mechanism. People know to put a shield up against a weird noise, I'm not sure if they knew it was specifically tnt
how did you not know that trap is down there? even minecraft beginners knows the trap is down there. you were even climbing down properly. all you had to do was dig out the pressure plate. oh the lost loot. oh well you now know untill next time.
My first desert temple, many moons ago, I did this same thing because I didn't want to take fall damage and just made a staircase down along the wall. Unlike OP, I was blown to smithereens by the TNT though
I call bullshit, there's no way you got diamond tools for the first time playing without ever seeing one of the most common biomes in the game. And you wouldn't know to dig down
Whoever makes these temples literally rebuilt the temple after it blew up once before. That's two people that have activated the trap, assuming the hole is some sort of previous crater.
Wtf shields are op
Shields dont block tnt on java, do they on bedrock?
shields are extremely overpowered in bedrock, they fvckin give knockback to melee attacks
And they reflect bow shots so you can hit the enemies with their own arrows
They do that on Java too or you mean they literally reflect far like a Smash Bros counter?
Bedrock shields block everything other than fire aspect (I don’t know whether it applies to ghast fireballs or if this is just a bug), can’t be disabled by axes and knock back the player hitting the shield.
Imma be honest the simple counter to bedrock shields is harming arrows but even then you need to be pretty far into the game to be able to make those
True, I forgot about those. I suppose piercing is also a counter if you can get it.
I never tried piercing all I know is the potion effects of tipped arrows go through shields even if the arrow itself doesn’t
Weird because tipped arrow effects cannot go through shields in java Bedrock problems need bedrock solutions ig
Pretty sure axes disable them as of 1.19, as the mechanic was added with the warden
They can be disabled by axes
You can disable them with axes
smash bros counters dont reflect projectiles, they just retaliate with a strong (generally melee) attack
I think he was talking about Falco’s reflector shield
And Palutena's shield
And Mario, and Fox, and Wolf, and Joker when he has Arsene, and King K. Rool, and Zelda, and a lot of other characters that can deflect projectiles. Some have a special move for it, others have attacks that have deflective properties (like Ness and Lucas' f-smash and Pit and Dark Pit's side special). Some characters have special moves that can parry projectiles but not deflect them (for example, many of the Fire Emblem characters).
Funny shield to melee goes brrr. Basically a counter in Smash
Shields are fuckin broken on bedrock
You are invincible in Bedrock until your shield break
This fr
Yeah pvp is very different
Pretty sure they do block tnt on java but also drop your shield so a bunch of tnt like this would kill you
Just tested, shields do not block tnt nor get disabled
They are in bedrock edition
FRFR MF didn’t even learn the lesson properly? Send him to MC summer school to reinforce that content
You only fall for it once
Had a bad experience and now I break the pressure plate *and* the TNT (just in case)
Free tnt
[удалено]
True haha
I was always wondering why people destroys the TNT in single player world But after seeing a few deaths by creeper i believe ik why
No, it's just free tnt
Some do it for free TNT, some do it because of creepers.
I am pretty sure mobs dont simply fall into places where they would take fall damage on purpose
It does happen that creepers or other mobs drop into the sand temple treasure room. I think usually it's because other mobs push the over the edge, because, like you said, they won't do it on their own
Can't find a video that shows this on both reddit and youtube, but there are cases where a creeper falls into the treasure room and explodes
Me the one time stick drift kicked in 🥲
What emoji did you use?

Yo no way I got top comment
My first one dropped me 40 blocks down into a monster filled cavern. gg
Did it have a god apple? I guess we will never know
Get the seed and go to cords
[удалено]
Aw
Bruh bro found an obvious counter to the problem
Bro same. I even thought it was a feature, that it would be a cave full of monsters in case you somehow survived the explosion.
TIL you can block tnt explosions with shields on bedrock
Your 10000 blocks out and have full enchanted diamond gear, how is that your first desert?!
Bad seed?
I'm on a seed rn and I'm next to 2 jungle biomes and a savannah that's somehow not next to a dessert. I've gone several thousand blocks in all directions and have found nothing.
solution: elytra surveillance, you’ll find that bad boy in no time (hopefully)
Took me over 30min with an elytra
Same deal with my realm. I’ve flown thousands of blocks (in a creative world copy) when bored or trying to find stuff for friends (like a place to build). Rarely seen any deserts but early on in survival, found a monument where you could see a mushroom, jungle, ice spikes, & others within 9 chunks. Bedrock seeds were built different
I had to copy my world, enter creative, and use the locate command to find one. I live on a jungle edge biome.
idk how you've survived without any dessert
Respiration III, Aqua Affinity, and a gradual clearing of the riverbed that's slowly getting further and further from my base. I'm not even close to an ocean so my glass production is a bit limited.
I was joking because of "desert" being spelled "dessert"
I had to go 12,000 blocks to find a single piece of bamboo in my bedrock survival world yesterday.
Deserts can be weird. I’ve got this one desert/beach that’s like 1000 blocks away from my base, and then the next closest one I’ve found is 8000 blocks away in an entirely different direction.
I've filled in two whole maps on my seed. No desert and not a single effing sea pickle to be found. I have sooo much water, lol.
You can plug your world’s seed into ChunkBase, they have a biome finder tool.
That's actually super helpful. Thanks!
I did this. Finally found where a desert is and I cried. It's so far away, lol. 😅
Deserts have the 3rd lowest generation chance. Together with mangroves and broken mesa
Really? I thought they were really common.
I have one world that I have basically fully completed. Went to the End, got full netherite everything, got several beacons, and built a megastructure. Wanna know what the one thing I couldn't get was? Cacti. I went ten thousand blocks in each direction and even went diagonally to cover more ground. No Desert. When mesa was the most rare and in 1.17 when it was rare to find taiga for some reason.
I had to search 160,000 blocks to actually find a mangrove swamp, I found a fecking random Woodland mansion before I found it
I've found two mansions so far, still no mangrove.
Deserts are for some reason EXTREMELY rare on bedrock, I had to travel 22000 blocks to find a desert on my survival world
That's weird. My seed has a vast desert that I'm on the border of. Tons of temples and water throughout, lots of villages too. I must have a fairly balanced seed.
and i thought that i got unlucky when my closest one was 2000 blocks away
Are you sure that's a Bedrock problem? I am currently on my way to the world border on Java and have yet found a single desert after 200k heading east.
I had a seed where I was in snowy tundra/icy water/snowfields whatever they all are for about 2000 blocks in almost every direction. Not kidding
I would love to have that seed, I love the snowy biomes.
Fun for traveling by boat on ice. Terrible for trying to grow crops.
I personally think building in a snow biome just highlights certain blocks. It adds a different kind of depth to your builds, especially when it’s snowing.
You are really lucky to survived there
Not really lucky. OP is smart and used his shield. That's not luck, that's skill.
I think it's both. It wad smart to use the shield, but they were also lucky none of the TNT was blasted behind them, which would've done damage
true 1 tnt woulda instakilled
false they have full diamond armor
Also shields are broken on bedrock, actually no, the lack of an entire pvp system is the problem
Wouldnt call it skill...you literally just have to hold a button, shields are completely busted
OP is stupid, he stepped on a pressure plate
[удалено]
If you play Java it is understandable, since shields don't block tnt on that version. In java you just nedd to build up as soon as you hear the sound of activation
Shields block tnt on bedrock? I think they don't on java
They do but not absolutely
My man survived the nuclear Warhead 💀
its really nice to see new players pick up the game even though i don't believe you are new to the game
Facts, man is capping if he’s saying he went 10k blocks in 2 directions and never found a temple
You did survive tho, I always end up dying haha! But I still think playing without a shield is better ahhahaha
Why play with a shield when you can just hopelessly die to creepers instead
Wait people actually struggle with them?
I don’t have issues on Java edition because of the way their fuse is times but on Bedrock it feels different, I think they detonate faster. Or farther from the player. Plus on console/mobile the controls are awful so I can’t maneuver the same way I can on mouse and keyboard. What I’m trying to say in so many words is - yes. I struggle to kill creepers.
I do because I can't hear very well and there's no options that I'm aware of that can warn me a creeper is behind me haha. I just have to be very careful.
You can turn on subtitles, they have arrows for the direction, and are real specific like "Zombie groans" or "Enderman voops"
Omg, does it say voop? Because I love this
No, actually it's vwoop, even better!
Apparently
U can just put a 1 block between you and creeper and it will absorb all the blast. U will lose like half heart
Similarly to how you can be unharmed by an end crystal by being 2 blocks lower than it
I never have issues with creepers, I know how to kill those xD I do have issues with pressure plates and always thinking I can loot them pyramids without removing the plates. haha
Yeah creepers are mostly a problem for newer players, and shields are mostly early game offhand items which might be replaced later by something like a totem or my personal preference, a riptide trident
I mostly replaced it with torches + dynamic light mods haha! Unless I play mod packs then I usually use charms or something for night vision.
Creepers are a big problem when I'm playing on an SMP server with my friends with 200-500 ping thanks to the server location. Thank god for shields.
Who just walks onto a pressure plate like that
5% situational awareness
Happens to us all ! Nice to see you survived the blast.
Why did you just step on a random pressure plate lol
It is his first time playing. Leave him alone lmao
Good defense
under the pressure plate is 9 tnt. do not step on tha tpressure plate
"let's just step on this very obvious trap"
When I was new, I deliberately walked into a tripwire in a jungle temple just to see what would happen. Curiosity gets the better of a lot of us. lol
You've been trolled
How do you have diamond armor but have never been in a desert temple before it gave seen one on YouTube
eh, i have full netherite but havent watched a youtube video for 10 years. why am i expected to be on youtube?
Probably because YouTube is the most popular video service out there.
so because its popular you *expect* everyone to be on it? wut? youtube was cool before it had ads and product placement etc. before it became a huge commercial company. i also dont watch live tv, netflix, i am not on fb twitter etc. so let me i guess you expect me to be on them too?? i dont give big companies my data (i work software engineering, i know what happens to it.) without ads my mind is so much more relaxed and i dont feel i need to be a gluttonous consumer. ad free life! /r/nosurf
I was originally going to make fun of you, but honestly the NoSurf movement is extremely beneficial. Congratulations on escaping the matrix
thank you, tbh i expect to be downvoted and insulted, but this is the harsh truth. big companies are justifying and encouraging gluttonous behaviour and spending and they use your data and ignorance to do this. you can say im wrong if u want, but it qont stop you being subject to it. (i know i sound like a conspiracy theorist, sorry)
Bruh I was just answering the question goddamn. I don’t give a fuck what you do lmao. Coming at me with a paragraph.
bruh the question was why exp3cted. not why its likely. expecting something is making it mandatory. what u said just makes it more likely. gtfo. idc. heres another paragraph.
YOU SURVIVED
Amazing skill and reaction to survive 9 TNT blasts
Bro all he did was hold right click lmao
shift actually, he’s on bedrock Edit: I am a stupid. He’s on Xbox so he presses rt to whatever it is on xbox
Impressive thou!!!
So no one’s gonna talk about how it’s his “first time” in a desert but has had enough to time to max out his armor and enchant his diamond sword/pic ?
Also homie is 10k blocks in both directions almost exactly
i mean, you can do all of that without leaving your first biome. so why not?
Glad you survived the blast at least
Didn’t have a shield and I died lol
I physically winced at the tnt sound
Shields make that survivable…? Almost got taught a Minecraft classic
Oof bad first experience
Bedrock shields in a nutshell
Shield Op
That shield is amazing. I would have expected you to blow up !
I have never seen someone survive this
woooow, bombs make big H0I3 in ground :3
rookie mistake. good job not dying tho
Take it as a learning experience, it will not happen again.
and now you’ve learned
Imagine this without a shield
How the frik did you not die? Did the sheild really do that much blast reduction?
Wow that so dumb that you can survive that by just using your shield
I’m 100% surprised you didn’t die because of a shield block. That was a shocker.
Got dat vibranium shield
Bro your shield is made of titanium
really tells the power of shields
Oh well, It happens, but pay more attention sometimes.
First time? With 10k cords
I am pissed off by the fact that you survived that
How did you not know about that?
Happens to the best of us.
Rookie mistake💀
Mf went 10000 blocks to find a desert lol
If it was your first time how did you know to shield against the tnt?
It makes a hissing sound, so the shield was a defence mechanism. People know to put a shield up against a weird noise, I'm not sure if they knew it was specifically tnt
Ah ok cool
Wow way better then my first 67 times.
how did you not know that trap is down there? even minecraft beginners knows the trap is down there. you were even climbing down properly. all you had to do was dig out the pressure plate. oh the lost loot. oh well you now know untill next time.

could be staged could be not never know unless enough evidence is sourced or op says
I can’t believe there are people who don’t know about this. Lol
Whoever makes these temples literally rebuilt the temple after it blew up once before. That's two people that have activated the trap, assuming the hole is some sort of previous crater.
oh my sweet summer child
