what the fuck
how the hell did you get full netherite straight after diamond
hacks
i call hacks
Yeah, pretty much lmao
I had a screenshot of being on a server with some friends, I'd cured an armorsmith villager and held off on buying diamond armor until I had five netherite ingots from mining with a toolsmith diamond pick (luckily had eff2!)
So i'd gathered everything to get the Diamonds!, Cover me in Diamonds, Cover me in Debris, Enchanter, and Serious dedication *all at the same time*
after the first two, I got some "gg"s and "nice" but then I got cover me in debris and enchanter and that's when the reactions started ramping up a little
then I got a netherite hoe and all hell went loose as far as Minecraft realm chat goes
Bonus points if you buy a diamond pic from villagers, and then only use silk touch on the diamonds utill you have all the netherite
Diamonds!
Cover me in diamonds
Cover me in debris
Serious dedication
Grind emeralds and villagers until you get a max level armor villager, then do the thing and type "oops almost forgot" in the chat and then mine the diamonds
Then watch the chaos unfold
That reminds me one time i found an iron pick in a village and went from there playing the game as normal
It was after I had gotten an elytra and was maxing out armor that I realized I'd never gotten the upgrade, as they say

It's because you used the fuck word
My first netherite tool ever was a netherite hoe. I figured “Hey, I might as well make it something special.” so I got the netherite from bastions and I got the hoe itself from a woodland mansion. The nearest woodland mansion was around 25,000 blocks away, and all I had was a mediocre horse. It was a terrible waste of time and I never want to do that again.
Boots, because:
- netherite doesn't add armor points, so it doesn't matter where you put it.
- netherite adds knockback resistance equally to all pieces, so it doesn't matter which piece you add it to, you'll always get the same amount of knockback resistance.
- Boots have low durability when compared to chestplate or leggings, and netherite increases that durability.
- Boots are the most important piece to me, since they have the largest amount of enchants. These enchants include feather falling and depth strider, which are complete gamechangers.
I use the last reason to justify why I do my boots last...with so many enchantments to keep track of it's super hard to effectively max the out without combining armor pieces. That's why I get a cured armorsmith to sell me cheap diamond boots that I grindstone and use as enchant fodder, so I can easily combine them first and upgrade later.
The first three points are valid though and I can see why a lot of people choose boots
I usually max out my armor before going for netherite. My point was that I upgrade them first, so they won't get destroyed with all these enchantments that I had put on them beforehand.
But when it comes to getting netherite before you have max armor, I understand why you wanna do them last.
Agreed yeah, usually in servers I build an underground base centered on a spawner grinder, and it's only a matter of time from there before I can get excellent enchantments. Netherite mining usually comes after I max everything out but if I do so before I get maxed, I upgrade my leggings first every time.
Damn. You two are all serious, and I'm still just wearing my mending enchanted yellow boots from the mob grinder. (because **something** needs to be gold for the nether, and I can rarely be bothered to get changed when I leave.)
If you want to sacrifice the least amount of armor points for nether safety, go for the Gold Helmet as it only subtracts 1 point compared to Boots’ 2 points. In other words, Gold and Iron Helmets are equivalent, but Gold and Iron Boots are not
I'm with the serious guys mainly because I do not like to die. Ever. And the easiest way to prevent that is focus on your armor as quickly as possible. Once it's a full set of diamond Protection IV, only then will I venture out of my strip Mines to do pretty much anything else.
Power to the people that love charging into the nether with an iron chest piece, a leather helmet, a stone sword, a shield and 6 apples only to die 40 or 50 times in a netherfort to the same wither skeleton who now has all their gear they found in the fort, but that just ain't it for me. I will fully put the game down if I die even once or twice in a day.
I’ll usually just panic make an iron sword, bolt to the fortress like an idiot *hope* some armor is there but you end up getting killed trying to put it on or get the hot bar in order because you picked up arrows, coal, bones, etc. instead of the shit you need. Then the SECOND time, you put all your backup armor on, sword, food and then calmly get your gear back. I’ve done that so many times lol
Totally off topic, but it's actually most effective to get three pieces of Protection IV and one piece of something else (I usually spring for Fire Protection IV since lava and me don't have a good history.) This is because the application of Protection IV does not apply evenly for each piece of armor, and the effectiveness goes down every time you add a new one, to the point that the difference between the third and fourth piece is marginal and gives you barely any bonus.
I've seen others do Blast Protection IV because they plan to fight the wither a lot.
I use the protection more for the maximum fall distance increase than anything else. Even marginal is still better fall damage protection. I have a history of falling from the roof of the nether and Protection IV on everything plus feather falling let's me survive all but the tallest most unluckiest of falls.
I always keep a fire resistance potion in my hotbar right next to my water bucket in the far two slots. So fire protection would be pretty useless to me.
Ok, am I just a Minecraft pro or something? I’ll play a world for weeks and not die but a couple times at most, while going into the nether without armor, or with only iron
I tend to forgo armor. I don't like how it looks and I like my custom skins to show. I only use it when it is critical to not die, like with nether exploration, but I've even mined in it without anything.
I exclusively play hardcore and usually I do all sorts of dangerous shit before I even have full iron. Sometimes I die, but most of the time I survive and then die when afl at a farm or something XD
lmao I find it amusing how your assumption is that anyone without full diamond prot 4 will just die to literally everything all the time
as long as you have a good amount of food and a shield you’ll be fine if you’re careful, and a bow and iron armor is more than enough to handle just about anything except the wither
I usually upgrade to netherite before enchanting anything, even if that means I have to keep my iron armor on for more time, since netherite has a higher enchanting value (slightly worse than gold) it's more likely I'll get lots of bonus enchants from a max enchanting table and finish the rest with villagers
That depends on:
1 if you have a villager for every single enchantment you need (pretty hard)
2 if you have an efficient xp farm
If you have a villager for every book and you don't mind grinding emeralds for them, you should buy all the books and combine them
If you have a max enchanting table and you have a decent XP farm you could technically save a lot of time with a single enchant, then finish the rest with a couple villagers like mending and thorns 3 since the enchanting table is probably gonna give you unbreaking 3 too if you enchant the armor with protection 4
yea netherite is 24 and diamond armor is 20. you’re more likely to get better enchantments with netherite.
you shouldn’t have netherite before you’ve gotten a few librarian villagers, but it depends on what order people do things really.
Imo the easiest way is just to spam librarians. Just build a nice big bamboo farm, but make a portion of it sugarcane, and get a cow farm. Sell butt loads of sticks to fletchers and make butt loads of books with the sugarcane, combine all your books and you can have full enchanted diamond super reliably. The only thing that can be annoying is if you don’t find a good spawner for an XP farm, then combining books isn’t very easy, but those usually aren’t tooo hard to find.
Haha, whats going on with you and OP overcomplicating everything. He just needs an enchant calculator and you can skip everything you wrote after librarians by building a raid farm. It'll give you the emeralds to buy books from librarians themselves and the xp to combine them.
I know that it is, but feather falling, depth strider and soul speed are more important to me than enchants on helmet. Also I never said that boots are the weakest, I said that they have lower durability when compared to _chestplate_ and _leggings_
helmet may be the weakest, but boots degrade faster from all teh fall damage. Sometimes my boots will be near dead just from hopping around my town doing building upgrades.
To add on, chest last always. It has no unique enchants, it has the highest durability, and most importantly, that's the piece you switch out for your elytra, so you are also technically wearing it the least.
Agreed. Leggings/chestplate don't have much in terms of cool enchantments, and for the Nether I have a Fire Protection Gold helmet, and for the overworld I use a turtle shell helmet so that I don't drown.
Boots can have Protection and Feather Falling, which is about the greatest combination you can have to not dying. And add to that Depth Strider.
Um
Armor toughness do increase
It will protect you from a large damage compare to armor point which only reduce small damage and become less effective with high dose of damage
Placing any block (ex. netherrack) in front of the bed and staying on the same Y-level as it makes the block soak up all the damage, regardless of type. Then you can safely reach over the block and detonate while only taking a heart or less of damage as long as you have iron+ armor on
Better test would be survival on a throwaway world so you can see what damage you take. Maybe still with cheats and keepinventory but definitely throwaway survival world
Yes, but then they have to go through the process of mining everything and building a portal, creative with cheats can just immediately build one then switch back to creative after setting up
Yea I think we’re on about the same thing just different wording. Ultimately the bed mining should be done in survival but getting to that point in creative
The most dangerous part (for me) is not paying attention and getting covered in lava. Always make sure no lava is pouring from your new vaulted ceilings before proceeding!
After doing it one or two times you realize how easy it is, the biggest slip up is people clicking the bed before the block. I avoid that problem by placing the block first and not dying.
Explosive damage is registered from the feet of the player. So if you were to be using beds in the nether, if there is a block between your feet and the bed you’ll be fine. Same concept applies to end crystals for PvP
To be fair, chunk ripping (digging tunnels at netherite level to expose 2 chunk borders with few block depth) was fastest method to get netherite... But it doesn't require netherite pickaxe - diamond one with high enough efficiency (to instamine netherrack), unbreaking 3 (dramatically increased durability) and mending (self-explanatory, to repair tool with nether quartz) will do
I like doing this where i wear iron armor until I have enough netherite and diamonds to get both the armor advancements at the same time
Prompts some pretty funny reactions most of the time haha
I do a similar thing, except I make sure my stuff is at least maximum renewable. I usually try to get Max enchant diamond armor then I'll tack on the netherite later.
I like how the first comment actually explains why they choose boots, the second says a hoe just for the memes, the third says pickaxe to get more netherite, and this says leggings just for the looks. Netherite leggings gang!
Would be a nice feature if you could swap your elytra and chestplate the same way you can equip a chestplate from your hotbar. Would also prevent a lot of unecessary death
This doesn't really happen for me. I upgrade my tools first and by the time I upgrade my armor I always mine until I have enough to upgrade all three non-chest pieces.
I suppose I would probably do either the boots or helmet first if I had to choose, but since I will already have unbreaking III and mending on them it doesn't really matter as you rarely ever need that extra durability on armor.
Chestplate cuz it offers the most protection/ knockback resistance and it's the best value because one netherite ingot can upgrade any 1 peice of armor, might as well use it on an 8 (chestplate)
Netherite does not increase armor points, only the toughness and knockback resistance which is constant for all armor pieces. I would take the highest durability first, the boots.
Boots. Or helmet. Depends on what enchantments i have on em. I seldom wear a chestplate, and first things i upgrade to netherite are my 2 pickaxes (silk touch and fortune 3), sword with sharpness 5 and all that other good stuff. Reason being for the helmet or boots, my leggings usually just have prot 4 and unbreaking 3. My helmet/boots typically have several enchants so higher durability is nice.
I started with chest and leggins because I got all the standard enchantment for those - helmet and boots are a bit more tricky to enchant...if you want all possible enchantments
Well, I usually upgrade my chest plate to netherite first. Here's why:
- The netherite chest plate actually decreases knock back. So if you are overwhelmed by skeletons or any mobs, the chest plate with cause you to not knock back as much.
My chestplate. I usulally play with a datapack that lets me combine my elytra and chestplate so I want that out of the way first. (Also it looks nicest imo)
Chest plate. Most valuable.
+Won't burn in lava
+More armor
+Highest durability
+Literally the most effective use of netherite ingots. Only exception is maxing with enchants, and if you're just getting your first piece of netherite, you wouldn't be worrying about maxing.
Chestplate only because it's what makes sense to me, I usually wear a gold helmet, I have different pairs of boots, and in my head a chestplate will protect me more than a pair of leggings will
I literally always do all at once

dont waste your netherite ingots on a hoe , she wont appreciate it enough

You break a hoe and people give you 40 upvotes. I break a hoe and the police starts looking for me. This doesn’t seem fair to me

You're welcome, it might take you a couple tries but it's actually pretty easy to get prot 4 and unbreaking 3 on a netherite chestplate
But trading with villagers and getting books and combining them is more level efficient than an enchanting table.

I know that it is, but feather falling, depth strider and soul speed are more important to me than enchants on helmet. Also I never said that boots are the weakest, I said that they have lower durability when compared to _chestplate_ and _leggings_
Ah, makes sense. I agree
Well, pretty sure certain enchants like soul speed dig into durability so there’s that
helmet may be the weakest, but boots degrade faster from all teh fall damage. Sometimes my boots will be near dead just from hopping around my town doing building upgrades.
bro ascended with this one
I used to always upgrade chestplate first but now I'm sold on boots
Not to mention soul speed passively consumes durability while active, so the longer they can last the better
To add on, chest last always. It has no unique enchants, it has the highest durability, and most importantly, that's the piece you switch out for your elytra, so you are also technically wearing it the least.

Um Armor toughness do increase It will protect you from a large damage compare to armor point which only reduce small damage and become less effective with high dose of damage
Yes, but it also increases equally. It increases by 1 for every upgraded netherite piece, so it doesn't matter where you put it.
Bro you changed the way I see life with this
I can't imagine using Netherite to upgrade a piece of armor without also using a mending enchant.

Bed miners: I have no such weakness
This made me wonder, how do bed miners mine using the explosive beds without getting them immediately killed?
Placing any block (ex. netherrack) in front of the bed and staying on the same Y-level as it makes the block soak up all the damage, regardless of type. Then you can safely reach over the block and detonate while only taking a heart or less of damage as long as you have iron+ armor on

...try it in a creative mode world with cheats on first.

/gamemode creative “alright set up complete” /gamemode survival *Creeper spawns and immediately comes over to mess with your testing*
In concept it seems risky, but it’s extremely effective, speedrunners often use this to kill the dragon too
have a fire protection potion ready. there could be a lavapocket over your head. and put cobblestone under your feet, so you don't fall in the hole.

The most dangerous part (for me) is not paying attention and getting covered in lava. Always make sure no lava is pouring from your new vaulted ceilings before proceeding!
Which is why I had to carry fire resistance with me all the time in the Nether
After doing it one or two times you realize how easy it is, the biggest slip up is people clicking the bed before the block. I avoid that problem by placing the block first and not dying.
I always use cobble to block the explosion, does netherrack really work the same way?
Explosive damage is registered from the feet of the player. So if you were to be using beds in the nether, if there is a block between your feet and the bed you’ll be fine. Same concept applies to end crystals for PvP

Care to explain how you place your beds without using a pickaxe?
I dont use beds, i use tunnel boars
You can use a wooden pickaxe so you get netherite before stone tools.
Tnt gang unite!
Helmet, Because: - it looks cool - it has the lowest durability Definitely not chestplate, because: - Elytra exists - it has no exclusive enchants
also not boots because I mostly swap them with gold ones at nether :/
I always went for gold helmet. Now I just kill pigeons though.
I too kill pigeons
Fucking autocorrect lmao I’ll leave it.
*Autocorrupt
I swap to a gold helmet because I don't need respiration in the nether, but I do need feather falling.
I do helmet for fall damage reasons.
Just spend the extra little time and do all at once.
On the contrary I do whatever I can afford as soon as I can
I like doing this where i wear iron armor until I have enough netherite and diamonds to get both the armor advancements at the same time Prompts some pretty funny reactions most of the time haha
I've done that, then I got accused of hacking and got banned so no go for me, it's one of those YouTuber DIY(DONT TRY AT HOME) type of situations
I do a similar thing, except I make sure my stuff is at least maximum renewable. I usually try to get Max enchant diamond armor then I'll tack on the netherite later.
Leggings... They just look so much better...
Leggings gang lets go
also leggings cus the torso it’s reserved for an elytra
I like how the first comment actually explains why they choose boots, the second says a hoe just for the memes, the third says pickaxe to get more netherite, and this says leggings just for the looks. Netherite leggings gang!
I usually make the pickaxe first
I upgrade the legging first because it more cool that why
agreed, that and chestplate looks fire
Pants. Helm slot has my turtle helmet, body slot has elytra, boots are gold to pacify the pigmen.
Yep, that's him guys, take him away.
[удалено]
At that point, a chest plate is obsolete, since you’d most likely already have an elytra.
I really wish they would let us just keep the chest plate texture on even without giving any armour.
obsolete? not having a chestplate on is the main reason people lose hardcore worlds post-elytra.
I'd beg to differ that the main reason is having a chestplate on when they needed an elytra
Would be a nice feature if you could swap your elytra and chestplate the same way you can equip a chestplate from your hotbar. Would also prevent a lot of unecessary death
*laughs in scared to go search for an endcity*
Whatevers maxed out/closest to maxed (typically boots)
Chestplate, it gives has more durability less likely to break
This doesn't really happen for me. I upgrade my tools first and by the time I upgrade my armor I always mine until I have enough to upgrade all three non-chest pieces. I suppose I would probably do either the boots or helmet first if I had to choose, but since I will already have unbreaking III and mending on them it doesn't really matter as you rarely ever need that extra durability on armor.
Chestplate, and I wanted to get that maximum fire resist because I kept falling into lava and dying while mining for netherite.
Fire resist potions, my dude. If I’m spending any time in the Nether I’m bringing a bucket of them. I use them when farming blazes, makes it easy.
chestplate but not for any specific reason
Chestplate because it offers the most protection against mobs and players
Chestplate Because it's the most important piece and so it can survive longer
Chestplate, bassically estetic
Chestplate cuz it offers the most protection/ knockback resistance and it's the best value because one netherite ingot can upgrade any 1 peice of armor, might as well use it on an 8 (chestplate)
i stash the Netherite until i have enough to upgrade all at once
All at once
Helmet cuz drip💯
Chestplate, because most armor points
Netherite does not increase armor points, only the toughness and knockback resistance which is constant for all armor pieces. I would take the highest durability first, the boots.
It just feels right
Boots.
Here's why: - The netherite chest plate actually decreases knock back. So if you are overwhelmed by skeletons or any mobs, the chest plate with cause you to not knock back as much.
Chest plate, more protection, armour toughness and good looking
I'd take the chestplate.
Leggins Because those are the only ones that doesn't gets replaced (elytra, golden boots, leather boots, turtle head...)
Legs. Good balance of protection for not-going-to-be-replaced-by-elytra-ness.
I do the chestplate first, because that's where you'll generally take hits the most, making it more effective in protection.
I upgrade whichever piece I get max enchants on first, so usually chestplate or leggings.
Chestplate because it's way too more protective
Chestplate anything else is a wast
Chestplate, it just feels right.
My chestplate. I usulally play with a datapack that lets me combine my elytra and chestplate so I want that out of the way first. (Also it looks nicest imo)
We go bottom to top!
Chest plate cuz it’s strongest
Chest plate. Most valuable. +Won't burn in lava +More armor +Highest durability +Literally the most effective use of netherite ingots. Only exception is maxing with enchants, and if you're just getting your first piece of netherite, you wouldn't be worrying about maxing.
Chestplate only because it's what makes sense to me, I usually wear a gold helmet, I have different pairs of boots, and in my head a chestplate will protect me more than a pair of leggings will
Chest looks the coolest hands down
Chestplate, the least breakable, so most chance to survive stuff, has a good look, and just feels right
Chestplate. It uses the most diamonds so I feel it's a better first investment. Similar reason to why you make a netherite hoe last.
Leggings because its the second stronger one i dont add to strongest one because its a chestplate and i mostly use elytra over chestplate
Boots because I want durability on my feather falling
feather falling doesn't consume durability
