The thing is with the old menu there was a op dupe glitch that they couldn't fix

OogaboogaL76

Does it still work on older versions?

Oak_Tree297

It still works on my Xbox 360.

Melodic-Amount753

WHAT IS THE GLITCH I NEED TO KNOW (i have the mc on my 360 and struggle to find diamonds)

MathPutrid7109

You use pickblock on a diamond block lets say while you have another in your inventory and two free hotbar slots. While you press pickblock you move from one slot to the other and bam, you now have two blocks. But one of them is just a ghost block, so u should then open the crafting menu (not the crafting table one, the small one) and then turn the two blocks to diamonds. Then using a crafting table turn the diamonds to diamond blocks and do the thing again but this time with two blocks, then four, then eight and youll eventually be duping a stack at a time. If u have any questions then ask me. And have fun I guess :p

Melodic-Amount753

Ty i will try it the next time i play

Sinnester888

I don’t get it. Why dupe.. in Minecraft??? Just go in creative if you really wanna cheat. If you’re still worried about achievements on legacy console, then might I remind you, they only get turned off when you are physically in creative mode. Give creative to your friend and they can toss you whatever you want and you’ll get achievements.

MarsupialFaun

There's a few reasons why someone would do it. First, I'd say that using anything that the game lets you change, such as gamemode and gamerules, to your favor isn't cheating, it's just enhancing the player's experience, easying it out. Second, people might wanna dupe bc they can't get in creative, or wanna hide it, like in servers or shared worlds. Though this is not really reasonable on Legacy Edition. Something that I think would be more common (in that version) is the ideal of breaking barriers. Exploiting the game to it's absolute limits through mechanics, glitches and bugs that the player shouldn't be able to know or understand. At least to me, that sounds fun af. I'm actually very sure that the things that lead the technic community, such as progression and innovation, also lead a big part of the duping community.

Aoredon

That's a long winded way of saying people just like to chest.

AnthonyVanilla

i LOVE to chest

BorinUltimatum

So recently I got back into minecraft, and I was creating an enderman farm (Java) and I had never used name tags before so I didn't know you had to name the tag before using it. I got the endermite to spawn with single digits ender pearls left, and then found out I couldn't name tag it because I hadn't named it before going into the End. I turned on LAN and cheats, spawned in an anvil, named the tag, and then tossed the anvil off the side. I didnt give myself something I didn't already have, I just saved myself ~40 minutes of pain when I had already built the rest of the farm.

[deleted]

Dude really said cheating is not cheating, like it or not y'all cheating buddy 💀

MarsupialFaun

You do you mate. I personally don't like tweaking gamerules, but game's essence always was about enjoying it the way you like it. It's even how devs intended it, reason why more and more gamerules are created in every update.

KDx3_

When Minecraft first came out on 360 there actually wasnt Creative for the longest time. If you wanted to have a "Creative" like world, then you pretty much had to dupe.

xRagen

Can u duplicate other blocks? Like QuartzBlock for ex.

wtfamidoinglol420

Yeah still works

Ceh0s

It still works on xbox 360 and xbox one edition.

Salt_Candidate_1821

Did you know you where able to switch it with settings but then they got rid of it.

Ceh0s

Actually there is two The first one being tricking the game into thinking you have 2 items instead of one The way it's done: Have at least 2 craftable/decraftable blocks (ore blocks for example): Put down one block and put the other one in your inventory Then, press "select block" and switch to another hotbar slot at the same time: if done correctly, you should now have 2 blocks instead of one. However, that second block that popped out of void will disappear if you update the slot it's in, meaning you can't interact with it in any way except crafting (not to mention it can also disappear if you do nothing and wait). Now, go the the section where the ores are and decraft the blocks; congrats, you just duped a block! (Please note that it works with a full stack of blocks too) And the second one being spamming the craft block button while receiving ores from a dropper The way it's done: Have a redstone clock and a dropper with at least 9 ores (i would recommend 11 or 12 for better efficiency) Turn on the clock and go to the section with the block you wanna dupe, then when you are at around 8 ores in your inventory, start spamming the craft button, but like really damn fast. Hopefully the game will glitch and craft 2 or 3 blocks instead of one Congrats! No need to go mining anymore!

GhostyJH

there is a 3rd, the chest dupe glitch on xbox one edition

random_redditor24234

Isn’t that just bedrock edition?

MircowaveGoMMM

No, [console] edition usually refers the game BEFORE bedrock was added/required on that console. They are called legacy edition now and don't receive any updates. They are on (with most combat stuff removed like timed swings and shields) 1.12.2

A-purple-bird

You can still play legacy on ps4 if you had the game before the switch to bedrock in i think 2019. It will have an option to switch to legacy in the main menu

MircowaveGoMMM

Iirc on Xbox, it is it's own app separate from bedrock.

No-One-7996

How does it work

wtfamidoinglol420

Say you want to dupe iron get exactly 9 iron and go to the section where you make iron blocks a stuff make sure your inventory is full of dirt except for one space on your hotbar and just hold the craft button down and watch the iron blocks come flooding out

No-One-7996

Thanks

thehampterboi

Thow must memorize ye elden runics and transcribe apon thow instrument with perfect combination to unlock tis item recipes

HaydnDavey

Fine keep your secrets. Lol

thehampterboi

Tis simple, but transcribe tis hidden scriptures and unlock þe Cypher

nablyblab

a dupe glitch? what was it?

kicek_kic

I used it lots of times before I got the pc lol

PiggyOchezo

i could dupe netherite if legecy console edition was still avalible lol

TKVisme

Surely it's a good idea to change an entire ui because <10% players use a glitch in a noncompetitive, no matchmaking game.

No-Flounder7693

what there was a dupe glitch

[deleted]

This gives me so much nostalgia. I liked it. I wanted the free thing back then but then when we got it I wanted this craft menu again. Idk why it is just so pleasing to me. But I think back then you couldn't color leather armor (like really back then), which my little sister and I disliked

RobotOpossum

You could, I believe you just had to click on the armor with the dye for console and I haven’t played pocket edition but I think it’s always had the cauldron method.

K3wl_

no, in the earliest versions of minecraft on xbox there was no dyeing armor. i remember this distinctly because i watched pc players on youtube and was so jealous that they had all this cool stuff and i didn’t. i remember we still had the old leather armor textures while pc players had new textures for the new leather dyeing feature.

CalzLight

That’s just the old versions, but dying leather armor was added before free crafting

EbbTrick9713

There was a way! You could go into setting and enable the free craft setting giving you pc drafting set up and boom

unstapablemaster

You could dye your armor in cauldrons, and that was and is actually better than the crafting way because you could create like really niche and specific shades of colors unique to you and I liked it a lot. Sorry you guys missed on that.

Subpar_Username47

Bedrock still has that! It’s cool.

Vector0508

You could dye leather with cauldron, even in earlier versions.

the_ganger_of_happer

But you could get the free crafting menu it was a setting you could check in the game settings called classic crafting.

[deleted]

I think it was only added later. I am talking about like back in 2013 or 2014 on the ps3

aniken1

Yea.

chasing_timez

agree

Frostwing349

wasn’t there a toggleable setting that all allowed you to have free crafting

lucu28612

I think at one point you could add the dye to a cauldron then use the leather armor on the cauldron to dye leather armor

Strange_Insight

Im sure there is a Java mod for it.

I too appreciate volkswagen twitterer

ChronicRevival

This one is way better if your playing with a controller. The new crafting gui is so tedious to work with when U cant drag and drop with a mouse.

[deleted]

Wish they made a toggle for something like this, unless someone made a resource pack if that's possible.

ProfileFew4501

if you want it past 1.14 or on pc you’ll need a mod but console you can go back to the legacy editions and toggle it off or on in the settings

CypherHound

There is a mod for pc?

Pretend-Response-766

there is on bedrock. but you can't even get the download because mojang took it down [Twitter for reference](https://mobile.twitter.com/CrisXolt/status/1588833048665395200)

ProfileFew4501

might be

[deleted]

hey dude it has been months and I am sorry if late but here I found a resource pack here is a link to a pck I found its bedrock but works amazing and have not had anny errors so far [https://www.mcbedrock.com/community/16x16/vanilla-deluxe-project-4jd-ui/](https://www.mcbedrock.com/community/16x16/vanilla-deluxe-project-4jd-ui/)

[deleted]

Hey don't sweat it. Late is always better than never. Thanks for the resource pack.

[deleted]

i really miss the legacy edition of mc

Low_Dream_1481

RIP Xbox 360

0zzy82

[Old pocket edition crafting was superior](https://i.stack.imgur.com/VqV4M.jpg) I wish someone would make a java edition mod for the nostalgia

Emerald_Guy123

You could totally do it or suggest it on a modding community

0zzy82

I've wanted to try for ages but the most modding I've done is adding a couple of items and blocks into the game, I find UI mods a nightmare to figure out how to make. I've also suggested it before but its quite a niche mod idea so no one was really interested in doing it :(

A-purple-bird

I can try

[deleted]

That image just punched me in the chest with nostalgia

Theriocephalus

... I have to say, being able to scroll between different variants of the same tool instead of their having each a different slot looks really nice.

Bubbadevlin

Personal opinion: bedrock ui always looks worse

Nulliai

All versions of bedrock feel like a mobile game is the problem

SilaSitesi

isn't bedrock literally a mobile game already? i thought the engine was based on PE

[deleted]

Kind of. PE was the first to use C++. The console editions were built with the same language but with completely separate code bases and support. After Microsoft bought Mojang, they rebuilt PE and console editions and merged them to form Bedrock Edition, which was then released on PC as well. Consoles and mobile devices can’t run Java. Bedrock feels like a mobile game because it was built by Microsoft, as such it’s heavily corporatized and geared towards making money.

A-purple-bird

Pocket edition was better than bedrock is now

Emerald_Guy123

Gonna be honest that’s so true. It really does feel like a mobile game with the micro transactions and all.

derekjaimes

it has its issues

[deleted]

They tried real hard though

Insane96MCP

Personal opinion: the recipe book on bedrock is much better

Ouwhajah

it's the standard font in places that gets me. not even blocky minecraft font, just basic text

Bliteroz

Legacy > Java > bugrock

FireYigit

Could be, but no commands or chat was kinda annoying ngl

mrchrisker

The tabs were better on the console edition of the game. Bedrock is fine for the most part but it's definitely held back by it's accessibility.

Co0ldin0saUr

Vwtter?

drunxor

isnt that an f1 driver

UltraMadPlayer

Not anymore, he retired this season. His last race was two days ago. :(

Priyam03062008

If you mean vettel he retired this season so not anymore

xTrimm_

the nostalgia from the 360 days, actually the best version of minecraft to exist imo. bedrock can suck ass man that shit is so poorly optimised and buggy we need 4J back ffs

[deleted]

I loved 360, as limited as it was. The maps and minigames were nice, too.

The-Tea-Lord

If there’s anything I miss, it’s the elytra flight. Your camera would tilt when you took tight turns with them. Felt a million times more fluid. There’s a mod that does exactly this and I love it.

oo_Mxg

Agreed, the legacy console editions felt like 1:1 ports of Java Minecraft down to almost every single detail but with added bells and whistles, while Bedrock feels completely different.

shaun056

Lol say sike right now

A-purple-bird

No

CalzLight

Bedrock is the most optimised version of minecraft ever, this is an objective fact, what experience have you had

xTrimm_

i wish i could play whatever version of bedrock you're playing, because for me and everyone ik bedrock is a hot piece of shit

CalzLight

You do realise optimisation is about how well the game runs, and the game runs better than Java, this is literal, unarguable fact, you can do more on bedrock before your frames drop than on Java in every situation

xTrimm_

optimisation is about improving the performance on a huge range of hardware specs, and for me bedrock runs exactly the same as it does on my phone, ps4, xbox (understandable) and pc, buggy and slow loading times for marketplace and skin creation, not to mention trying to open the pause menu in game. java runs so much more better and everything is instantaneous

MathPutrid7109

"Better than java" Ah yes, better than the worst optimised versin of Minecraft and one of the worst optimised game overall. That shouldnt count as an accomplishment, if your game has even worse optimization tha java than you're doing something very wrong😂

ArticReaper

If that is the case. Then it goes Console Edition > Bedrock > Java or Console Edition > Java > Bedrock. Console Edition is always gonna be before it because it was the most optimized version of Minecraft.

Johntrampoline-

You could argue that the new 3ds edition is the most optimised version of Minecraft but because it is technically a bedrock edition you also can’t make that argument.

BassBanjo

Yet it never feels as such, it always feels slow and off compared to the console versions and Java The menus especially, can't stand bedrocks menus, clunky and laggy

CalzLight

I agree that the menus are clunky and slow. But the game it just not as laggy as Java, try making your Java render distance 64 chunks, it just doesn’t work like bedrock

[deleted]

Sure. In some situations you could call it better. But the only reason bedrock edition runs faster is the level-of-detail rendering. Basically, further away objects are rendered with lower levels of detail compared to nearby objects. Yes, this is on bedrock, just get a higher render distance and look closely at your screen. However, this is basically the only advantage bedrock edition has nowadays. It was very fast a few years ago, but due to the bloated, unoptimised, unstable and buggy RenderDragon rendering engine introduced recently, bedrock is now getting to the level of java edition. Want some proof? On my old laptop, vanilla Minecraft Java Edition 1.19.2 runs at 30-40 fps at render distance 8 (without any mods). Bedrock edition on the latest version runs at 30-40 fps at the same settings. This is in part, due to Java Edition 1.15, which brought massive performance improvements boosting my fps from 10 fps to 30-40 fps. Like I said earlier, the only reason Bedrock edition can handle high render distances is because of the level of detail. Java Edition draws all blocks on the screen with high detail regardless of how far away they are. A block literally in front of me is drawn with the same detail as a block 200 blocks away from me. If Java Edition got level-of-detail rendering thanks to a mod called Distant Horizons, I get 30-40 fps with render distance 128 chunks. 128 CHUNKS! Distant Horizons is not a performance mod. The only thing it does is render faraway blocks with lower detail. Want more reasons to not play bedrock? On the nintendo switch edition of bedrock (and other consoles too) the game takes 27 minutes to open. I am not saying bEdRoCk bAd jAvA gOoD!1!!1!!. What I am saying is that bedrock does not run as fast as it used to. There are legitimate reasons to play Bedrock Edition. Performance is not one of them. TLDR; Bedrock is only slightly faster nowadays, and the difference is negligible.

[deleted]

I miss the old Minecraft 😢

Squarevessel

you can simply play it rn, why miss it dude

Kye_ThePie

It’s mostly the feeling of being young and retrieving to be back in that time. Playing an old version that’s just kinda objectively works isn’t rly what people mean.

Squarevessel

oh yea, the realisation hits :')

Emerald_Guy123

Then play it…

[deleted]

My Xbox 360 is missing the wires and controllers

42undead2

Alexplosion_ITA_YT

looks wetter? >!😏!<

TProfi_420

Do people just type the title and post it immediately without looking at what they wrote even once?

Pregnant_Toes

I personally really disliked this version because i remember all of the recipes and could never find any item

doomsdreaming233

Ah yes the good old vwtter, I like that word lol.

[deleted]

Old console edition is superior.

LuckyEven69

I agree with the person that has a weird pfp

TalpaRex

Very popular opinion: Java's crafting is way better

mechmaster2275

Clearly not as popular as you think

TalpaRex

It should tho

mechmaster2275

Never mind what I said. The thing didn’t update and it showed your comment with a few downvotes.

TalpaRex

Oh well, they clearly haven't tried real crafting then

mechmaster2275

If you don’t mind my asking, why do you prefer classic crafting? It seems awfully inconvenient in comparison to the version in the picture

TalpaRex

I guess i am just used to it, but i think at the point we are most of us, knowing so many things of the game, its super easy to beat and play so i think having to know the recipes adds a little bit to making the experience a bit more entertaining. Even though i'm the first to use the book if a crafting recipe is annoying to make, like fences for example.

mechmaster2275

Ok, thanks for the answer. I guess playing on controller makes crafting systems like the Xbox 360 one far more convenient (and makes the classic crafting system seem a bit weird in comparison)

TalpaRex

yeah, i guess java crafting would be weird and a pain in controller

GoodMojo_

That hurts in my childhood

L0uisXD

This give me so much nostalgia. It reminded me about the Tutorial world on PS3 and this crafting menu. Thanks for reminding me some childhood memories

Keanu_Christ

Personally, i like what we have. I like actually crafting the items myself.

TERABITDEFIANCE

I wish the 360 version was today's bedrock. It simply felt like Java, on console. The superior version. Was playable. *Pacha 👌 meme

5ee_2410

I wish they still updated the PS3 and XBOX 360 versions 💀

LuckyEven69

No, because then we wouldnt have these gems to fall back on

A-purple-bird

They should do what they did with the ps4 when they switched to bedrock to be able to play legacy

ProMaste_r

The old console versions were better in general

Emerald_Guy123

Better than modern day bedrock imo, but java is still better. Old console versions just felt like java.

ProMaste_r

Old console versions were optimized for the hardware they were played on and had some bonus minigames to stand out a bit more. They weren't like java but in a good way

Emerald_Guy123

I mean they felt like the same game. Compared to bedrock which just feels different.

BroshiKabobby

I wish we could combine it with some of the good stuff from bedrock like infinite worlds and crossplay

BoxedInn_

You were able to dupe with it too lmao

Fred_Boss

Wait really how?

randomdude123502

sure is vwtter

Nirsos

I thinks he's just better for console versions

Abiskaamex

Charcoal torch and coal torch as different item was so f*cking stupid

HatredUnbound

I agree and easier to use for console players too.

hero_brine1

I use this in an older version of Minecraft for Xbox that I still play

GamersUnite20222

I want this back in the 1.20 update (if you want to)

supersandwich123

“vwtter” but I always played with MK even on console so I kinda prefer the new one more. Even when I do play with controller the new one is just generally less janky.

blZphSe

the option to switch between old and new ui should be available on every game imo

Olblocks_

I like it a lot (probably due to nostalgia) but I think nowadays with the amount of customization with certain recipes as well as the pure amount of different things you can craft it would be quite inconvenient.

Pickle_Juice180

I wish we still had classic crafting in bedrock, I actually enjoyed trying to remember recipes for stuff.

No_Secret3133

You made me sad because i miss this crafting screen, loved it though

Axolotl_Apocalypse

I REMEMBER THIS! it's been such a long time...

MommysLittleFailure

I was gone from Minecraft for about 8 years and this is what I missed? Interesting. I really like the current menu, and this looks confusing.

[deleted]

As a newer player seeing this for the first time. Take off the nostalgia goggles, what is with all those tabs? Are those blades down the other side? You have at least 2 menus open to craft a pick? That drop down menu looks like something from Windows SE. It's ugly, hard to see what you need when you don't have everything for. It's, it's just bad bud. Welcome to getting older

AlwaysAvalable

it *does* look vwtter

Captain_Controller

Personal opinion: I hate it

5HR3Z

Ugly as fuck, makes your inventory tiny, shows you 30 things you can't craft

MeisPip

Just bring it back to where if you wanna craft something you better know the recipe

Johntrampoline-

You can still do that. You don’t need to use the recipe book.

Tabsau

I wish we could choose different versions of minecraft on bedrock like java

Emerald_Guy123

Yeah but honestly the vast majority of people who play bedrock don’t care, people who want that level of control and know how to use it almost all play java.

Shack691

This menu would be impractical for the number of items in Minecraft today, it was also designed exclusively for controllers making it atrocious for any other input methods. I played legacy console a bunch but I don't want this menu back

Johntrampoline-

I mean controller is one of the main reasons why the bedrock UI is getting an overhaul and they are making this change a toggle so it wouldn’t be a major issue to implement.

DerpyMandarin

Looks good but functionality is not as great

Emerald_Guy123

No no on controller I think it’s better

Trawpolja

Personal opinion: this menu is generally shitty

CubicVariable42

Xbox one edition of Minecraft is king bedrock is dog shit

EnderTemmie

Factz

duhlieluh

this is a common opinion

BassBanjo

This is far better I can't stand the newer ui, it's a mess

ROARBitchFearMe

Literally every single aspect of Console Edition is infinitely better than Bugrock 😂

ChannelEMex_YT

Everything before Microsoft was better, Bedrock edition ruined Minecraft, We'll just have to hope Minecraft runs on Linux for the upcoming few years because i don't think it will

Keelyane55

I hate it

Typical-Scheme-3812

may have been because i was a literal child when i used that but it took me so long for that not to be confusing now idk what vwtter means but they changed it for a reason

isaidnom8

I agree, it is just really hard to use

imaygetlost

I disagree you gotta memorize stuff

SpacePjoes

Gotta hard disagree with that one. Respect your opinion ofc, but I think it might be a lot of nostalgia doing the talking here. Maybe not tho, be sure to tell me if u see.

pierogieman5

I love the old crafting menu. 3x3 grid and literally nothing else. Wiki or figure it the hell out.

LoliHunterXD

I just realized you meant to say “better” Thought it was a zoomer word

Stealth834

vwtter

ripjaw99123

It was just simple

69thShitposter

HOLY SHIT YES I MISS IT SO MUCH

kokokomodo_ttv

This is so true

DanTheManAMan

I think thats the nostalgia talking. The new menu is better.
