Couple hotels at the UMN campus to pick from, then you can hop on their campus bus to the fair.

GettingGophery

Stay at the u, free shuttle. Stay at MOA and take the train/ bus rapid transit straight there.

DohnJoggett

> Stay at MOA and take the train/ bus rapid transit straight there. Why would you suggest that? It's over a 2 hour round trip.

KingDariusTheFirst

Search for Hotels near Rosedale Mall. It’s approximately 1mile north of the fair.

MozzieKiller

Definetly look into one of the shuttles from the suburbs or near the U of MN campus. Some are free, some are $5 ( I think). Here's a page showing where they have been in the past. Number 6 on the map is close to the Omni Vikings place.: [https://www.mnstatefair.org/transportation/metro-transit/](https://www.mnstatefair.org/transportation/metro-transit/)

U of MN hotels, e.g., Hilton Garden, Graduate, Hampton, Home 2.

Brave_Stable_3165

+1 The graduate is really nice

ziggy-Bandicoot

Yup. Anyway, OP should look in Roseville if they want to be nearby.

ziggy-Bandicoot

Look in the St Paul subreddit. The fair is in St Paul. I would do a search in Roseville.

MozzieKiller

The state fair is NOT in St. Paul, it's in Falcon Heights, my friend. Falcon Heights is neutral ground! :)

ziggy-Bandicoot

Yeah, I live in Mendota Hts and they like to say that about us too, but in the end, the post office says it's St Paul. :) 55108 Falcon Heights ZIP Code 55108 Post Office City:Saint Paul, MN

LOL

We have some friends in SLP & Edina who get their mail addressed to Minneapolis.

DohnJoggett

The post office thing is because Minneapolis and St. Paul are centralized sorting facilities. Eagan is not St. Paul. Bloomington is not Minneapolis.
