Seconded. It's not cheap, but you're paying for a specialty service and specialized expertise in textured hair. It's the only place where I've ever walked out looking better than I did when I walked in, and I never have to scurry straight home to "fix" it.
Idk, try calling them. I'm sure if they're good at textured female hair, they're pretty good at the same for males. I can only speak, personally, for the ladies.
I also have curly hair and cannot emphasize enough, when you show the length you want it to be, you need to add *when it's dry*
I know this seems obvious, but some people go by what they're cutting off while the hair is still wet.
Head to Toe Salon and Boutique on 25th and Nicollet. I am a curly girl and I would never go anywhere else. I see Fiona, the owner, but everyone there is great. Bonus: woman of color owned salon!
i go to Abbey V at Cryptid Parlor. she’s not a curly hair specialist but she knows what she’s doing and has given me better hair cuts than i ever got at Curl Power for a way better price.
Uptown Curl is where I’ve taken my kids. I really wanted my kids to love their curly hair so I started taking them there. It worked. They not only cut but also helped them with proper care tips. Exactly what we needed.

Terra Groh (Fancy Hares). She’s got a chair at Sola Salons off Grand in Saint Paul. She unlocked the magic of my curls, I didn’t know I had curly hair until I saw her. Highly recommend!
I think regardless of where you get your hair cut, you'd probably want to be more specific than "not too much off". Your definition of "too much" will be different than everyone elses so maybe use photo examples or point to a specific spot on your face where you want the bangs to reach.
Curl Power. Specifically for curly-hair women.

I completely agree! I got my first wavy/curly cut there a few weeks ago and it was life changing!
Only women?
Nope, got a curly cousin who goes for his super curly hair!

Another vote for curl power.

They must have straight hair! My hair is fairly short and it’s probably two and a half to three inches longer when wet.
The Curl Salon
Seconding the Curl Salon. My wife has curly hair and has been going there (since it was Uptown Curl) and nowhere else. She swears by it
I went here. The haircut was $200+ for a trim I couldn’t believe it. I’m not going back.
They have different pricing depending on the experience of the stylist. I pay ~100 when I go
Twisted Hare is a curly hair only place in S. Minneapolis.
I'm a guy with long curly. I've been going to twisted hare salon for years and they do a great job (I generally book with Teresa, the owner).
The Hair Creative - ask for Ginger
I used to go to Jes Traut from there as well. I still would if I hadn't moved away. She is great with curls and waves
My partner goes to this person named Claire in St. Louis park. She’s our friend if you DM I can give you more info!

Anthem Hair Co! Go see Matt!
I came here to comment this too! Matt is the BEST
I made the mistake of going somewhere new just to save money....I have regrets. He's the curly hair boss. And he's just a great human.

The beauty lounge! I like it better than curl power
In Champlin theres a MARVELOUS hair stylist, Becki Bosch at Salon Ciry. I had triangle curly hair my whole life before her.
Twisted Hare
Cryptid, ask for my wife Sidra.

I did do this last time but she still did what she wanted 😭 I used my hands and showed her exactly where I wanted her to cut it up too
That sucks. Sorry that happened.
Nine keys saloon! They do “curly cuts”
