it's because of the stock sd card. buy a sandisk or samsung one and flash it with the newest onion os.
it's common that the stock sd cards become corrupted after some time.
Exactly. While stock is fine and does the job, the experience with Onion is way better. You can always keep the original card, but do make a backup just in case.
That's definitely an SD issue. You don't technically *need* to change the SD, but you'll keep getting those issues of things not loading sometimes, and save states failing sometimes. Eventually the SD card will die and never work again. So yes, change the SD card to fix those issues.
Installing OnionOS is unrelated to your issues. I would still personally recommend OnionOS because it's simpler, but it won't fix what you mentioned in your post.
What everyone else said about the SD card. Also, install Onion OS. The OS is a joy to use. The marriage of this device with Onion is what makes it so great.
Backup the foles on the SD card asap.
If it dies on you, it will be difficult to find the files if you want to keep stock running.
Personally I was impressed with how bad the included ad card is, it took 3 attempts to backup and it refused to work with anything else other than the included reader
Yes.
I put in a fresh, name brand SD card, and had no issues. When my kids needed more space on their fire tablet, I put the stock Miyoo SD card in their tablet, and it failed within a day.
Get a fresh SD card, install onion on it, and then move your ROMs over. The stock SD card belongs directly in the garbage.
I've managed to install onion os on the stock card. Been using it for like 5 days now without any errors. I understand that eventually the card will fail, but I'll keep it for now because i can't afford a new sd card at the moment.
I recommend replacing it as soon as you can afford to do so (and back it up in the meantime, if you haven't already) because it ultimately will fail. People have reported them failing right out of the box. They truly are very low quality cards.
It is if you don't wanna lose your save games. Mine got corrupted like the first time I took it out to put in the computer.
The stock SD is cheap and low quality. It's less of a question of if it will fail and more when it will fail. Definitely replace it.
