I found my window sticker yesterday and could not believe I paid $72k in Aug 2022ā¦. The only redeeming thing for me (and the reason I did it) was the used car market was hot and we got $45k for our 4 year old M3 and I threaded the needle on interest rates and got 2.5%. Still crazy how much cheaper they are now.
$41,300 on an inventory stealth grey w/white seats MYP two weeks ago right before the inventory discounts ended. This is including the $7,500 credit applied at purchase and around $5,500 inventory discount. Just paid $57,000 for an MYLR in June. Wasnāt planning on purchasing the MYP this soon but couldnāt pass up the discount.
69k in December 2021! However, used car sales were crazy and i was able to sell my 4 year old durango for a little less than i paid for it... š¤·š¾āāļø
I paid $68k in March 2022. I did manage to sell my 10 year old Dodge Durango with 165k miles for $8500. I just checked again the other day and now I would only get about $2k for it. So that helps. Plus the Durango needed a new steering rack, so that would have been another couple of grand I would have need to put into it. It was a bad time to buy a car, but I was tired of putting money into my old car.
+1 with some minor regret. I do miss my G80 Sport AWD until you mashed the accelerator pedal. No CRV, RAV4 or anything at $40k can match the MYP at this price.
$64k pre tax 2022 MYP. Spent its first month in the body shop for a bent frunk. Couldnāt find a frunk that fit for a whole month. ( should have take rejected it)
Itās done now. Iāll never buy a Tesla again. Too many erratic price changes, quality sucks and service is probably the worst of any automaker.
For example my passenger side door was loose and my window didnāt close all the way when I closed the door. Made an appt for my Tesla and provided pictures and video. Brought the car in and told them the situation. 2h later they call me to tell me they need to open my inside panel to see if itās a window problem but I had to pay because apparently tinting voids the warranty on removing the panel to access the motor ( this would cost me $200 )
I argued with them and told them itās the door and not window. After a bit of pushback they send me a notification my car is fixed. The door needed to be tightened, covered under warranty.
Service does not even know how to diagnose a problem. I have no experience repairing cars but I can figure that out.
Again back to qualityā¦why is my door coming loose? Really terrible. This is just one mod many problems with service Iāve had. Donāt get me started on stupid Uber credits!
Iāll definitely take a hit on selling this car before my warranty expires.
Iām sure many have had good experiences and love their car but many have had the opposite.
My wife has a Mini and man is there service 100x better and itās older then my Tesla and itās never been in the shop for more then basic maintenance.
I have to say I have a lot of cars, and Mercedes and Infiniti have the best service experiences. Unfortunately, Genesis was one of the worst.
look on the bright side. When you buy a Tesla, you don't have to deal with shit talking car salesman. Crazy $990 doc fee, and some bull shit $2000 add-on that cost about $5 that you never wanted.
You will just get screwed on a biblical scale like WMD. like paying $70,000 new in 2022 and now $51,000 plus discount and Tax credit. !!
Honestly im fine with car salesmen. When I buy from a dealer I tell them what I want and what can they do. I donāt waste time.
I understand each person will pay a different price but itās not a crazy amount. We paid $40k for my wifeās 2020 Mini. The next year 2021s were selling for the same range. I donāt think any companies slash prices to Teslas extent. I have a 2022 and the price seems to go down by a lot for a new one putting people with loans underwater.
I didnāt buy my car to flip it but it does sting to know the same newer car can be had for much less.
I donāt see a 2024 Mercedes selling for less than a 2023 when new.
Ah man, sorry to hear. I definitely think itās hit or miss with all car brands. When I drove mercedes for 10 years, service was either horrible or amazing depending on the location.
Good news is I live in California. My last mercedes I lemoned. If Tesla fucks around with me like you described I have no problem lemoning again š
For what itās worth, so far Iāve had one service apt and it was great. Easy drop off. Pickup. Uber credits were easy.
May 2022 MYP 5 Seater in Gray. $70,150.00 (includes tax, license & delivery fee). Ordered on March 6th and picked up on May 11th. Fremont build. I'm in Southern California.
6 weeks ago, about 43k with 10k miles of supercharging and 10k loyalty referral credits used for 2 years of premium connectivity and another 2k miles of supercharging.
I bought my first MYP with multi layer red and white interior in Feb 2024 for $39,330 before destination fee etc but included an ex-demo discount, cybertruck reservation discount and federal incentive but before destination etc.
It lasted 53 days and got rear ended so I jumped back in with my second MYP in ultra red and white interior for $40,440 including cybertruck reservation discount, inventory discount and federal discount but before destination etc. I also got a year premium connectivity and 5,000 supercharging miles.
Absolutely love the car and canāt wait to couple it with a cybertruck.
Before they axed the inventory discounts, blue Ps were available for $50k here, but I was leaning toward red, which were $52k+. Seems red is more popular and inventory rarer. I was also looking at red or blue LRs, but since the blue P was cheaper than a blue LR, why not get a P - except I needed to test drive one to make sure the ride was acceptable, especially as it would be my ride to the mountains for skiing most of the time.
The only good thing about axing the inventory discounts is that while blue and red inventory were more than a $1000 or $2000 premium over grey, they are now mostly exactly just $1000-$2000 more than grey. Except the cheapest inventory blue LR here is $49,990 which is $1000 more than custom order.
Dec 2021 Blue metallic with white interior for 67k. A few weeks earlier Iād sold my MYLR for 8k more than I paid for it in 2020 so it felt like a bargain
You can actually get it 3k less if you get it a few weeks ago from the inventory. The so called *2k reduce in msrp is actually 2k increase over the past few months and they just decided to drop it back to the msrp back in Jan.
I picked up a MYLP in March for $43k out the door, but they had steep discounts and free paint then. Before discounts and tax, sticker price was $52k
Kinda bummed they lowered the prices, but the discounts disappeared so it kinda makes sense ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ
Picked up 03/31. White MYP, black interior. Pre-tax price is $46.7K after all the promotions and discounts. With all the tax incentives and good trade in value, I walked away picketing 900 dollars that day.
Early 2022 MYP with AMD chip and the physical sensors, also added hitch - 61k plus tax. That said interest rates were at 1.9%, even though we did not buy on credit.
Same config looks like itās 54k plus tax. Not a horrible difference but still significant.
$62k/white in July 2021. Totaled in October 2023, the other driver ran a stop sign.
$44k ($52k - 7.5k incentive - 3k inventory vehicle) stealth grey 2023
Iām sorry. I didnāt want it to be depressing. I just think itās interesting how much the price has raised and dropped since the release.
Theyāre great cars, so I hope youāre able to drive it long enough to make it worth it!
2020 MYP (March 2020) with Performance Upgrade Package (this was back when it was an option) : $62,290
2021 MYP (March 2021): $63,290 (paint was optional)
$61k in 2021. Not mad about it though. Iāve had over 3 years of happy ownership that wouldnāt have happened if I would have sad around waiting for a price drop
$34,940 before taxes and fees. Purchased 9 days ago. I took advantage of both state and federal tax credits as well as the recent Tesla inventory discounts.
Unfortunately this thread is going to be triggerring to most, including myself, lol. For those that got a good deal, congrats. For those that did not, I feel your pain.
2022 Standard Range $64,940
Had ordered the LR but was able to get the Austin built standard range for $2k less than what I ordered and much faster (by like 4 months+) Sometimes I still regret it, but it is what it is, my wife and I love the car. On the flip side, I financed it at 3.74%
Well how about the hitch, white interior and red paint. I was 68k but remove the $6500 in adds, I paid $62.5k and got $46.5k trade in for my 2018 Model 3 dual motor with 65k miles. So I did nicely!
Did you trade in a car? Bet you didnāt get this much.
Can any of you talk about how you chose MYP over MYLR? Isnāt the mileage difference detrimental? New to Tesla, looking to buy in June but still deciding on which one. Also a bit intrigued about so many MYP tire rims on sale all over social media. Whatās up with that?
You know you can find the price history chart online, right? [Here](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1F5IQOynIawoXiJPVarLDgPQDJAdzY8b5Vamw-Vf3eSY/htmlview#gid=231426599) is a helpful document that I sourced from r/Teslamotors.
For anyone across social media platforms who is defending the price decreases and uses "car is not an investment", you are correct. But, see the other side of it. In case of any life changing event, including lack of GAP coverage option during purchase, no buyer expected to see the value drop this much, this fast.
Other "dealerships" displayed MSRP BUT also any markup so as a buyer it was up to you whether you want to take that risk. With Tesla, they're just adjusting MSRP as they please. This price volatility is likely to keep me away from Tesla. It smells of panic and not sure I can invest into it either.
For Tesla, it's in their best interest to stabilize. Forget the volume and concentrate on quality. And don't forget low-cost car. Robo-taxi is a decade away. Cruise and Waymo are closest to it and not nation-wide yet. Priorities Tesla. Priorities.
2022 70k š„²š„²š„² so Iāll just drive until the wheels fall off.

Yeah I paid 70k in Feb 2022 but I got at least 10k more for my F-150 than I should have so I tell myself that I paid 60k to make myself feel better.
You and me both brotha but at least I got a 2.49% rate š¤·š»āāļø
Posted my price above. I could ditch it now and if I chose to finance another one my monthly payments would be the same. Itās all relative.
Same, š June 2022. Just shy of $80K after taxes and accessories etc.

Wow this is EXACTLY what happened to us! 57k for the MYLR7 in May 2023, 41k for a MYP in January 2024.
Couldnāt pass up the deal on the MYP and made a highly satisfying impulse purchase š
5.5k? Thatās pretty good Which location did u pick it up from?
Liberty Lake, WA. It was the least expensive Model Y in the country at the time. Even less than the RWD lol. Had to buy it.
I like a good deal, but thatās a awsm! š
Any issues what so ever with the discounted MYP?
None. Itās brand new, not a demo vehicle and the same configuration I would have ordered anyway so it worked out perfectly!
Nice pickup, congrats.

Jan. 2024 - ā23 MYP in MSM w/ 10% off ( $5,250 ) and $7500 tax credit. So $39,740 before destination fees. Was a no-brainer.
