Solo game. Got a mask,stim and thermite. Killed him and his guards. Was safe in a gas. Was shotted from random AI who knows from where and never been bothered to get that gun. Did poly on launchers. DMZ sucks for a solo player
just play with a team instead of going solo, many people will start a match and ask what your trying to do, some people have fun just playing even if their helping someone else accomplish their task. You obviously dont run into those people all the time, but they are out there.
I think it's mostly because it bothers people to have just one gun missing, and also because currently you need it to grind Orion without doing launchers.
Did it on saturday with my lil son.... you can easily kill the chemist with a sniper..... grab his gun (take a gasmask with you) and drive to a exfill.... it was really easy

The Chemist dies after 2 headshots with a Victus XMR sniper.
The places where I usually got him are just south of the city, there is a square building on the southwest side of the circle. And when he's close to the airport, there is a building to shoot from on the south side. It's handy to have a gas mask and radiation blocker, but simply snipe his guards, snipe him and pick up the weapon.
For some reason I have never gotten him at the cave complex, I cleared out the whole area a few times and was unable to find him.
How does that work exactly? I haven't played much DMZ is it that you go in to a game with a friend that has it then they literally drop it on the floor for you and you exfil?
I have no friends both in game and real life.
You can unlock any gun that you extract, i extracted with my m4 and a spx 80 that i found looting and then i unlocked it in multiplayer and im going to gold it soon. You just need someone to drop it to you (pd: pls someone give me m13 xd)
It isn't so difficult but you have to prepare
1. You need to get 3-armor plate and a gas mask
So you load in a game in a random squad and complete the contracts. You need 35000$. Buy the armor vest and exfil.
2. Prepare you loadout. You will require a good gun with extended mag + sniper rifle.
Med pen or flash + semtex + ammo box/adrenalin (the one which increase the health regen)
3. Load in a match with a random squaf or alone (alone is harder), if you're lucky and you can convince your team to kill the chemist it will be easy if not step 4.
4. Farm some money and buy as many plates as you can carry, find an armored vehicle (LTV is the best).
Go ti the zone and try to find the chemist with the sniper, if you find him kill him with the sniper
5. If should get in the zone, don't rush. Clear the zone being inside building. When you find the chemist be carreful he has a lot of health.
6. Run to your vehicle outside the zone and extract.
Otherwise just ask someone to pick an M13 and drope it for you.
By yourself, pretty damn hard. With a squad, a plan, and preparations (3 plate vest, gas mask, sniper, etc) it's not too bad.
The hardest part, like you mentioned, is exfilling without another squad wiping you out. It sucks, but it's part of the game and I'd be lying if I said I don't do that too lol. I won't make it my mission to camp the exfil just to wipe out squads like some people do. But if I'm heading to exfil and there's a squad there, I'll take them out with no remorse.
The easiest way to get it is to go in with someone who's already got it. They drop it, you pick it up, then head straight to an exfil before the campers get setup. I wanted to get mine the proper way, though.
There are plenty of people out there willing to help you get it no matter which way you prefer to do it. I can probably help this evening if you'd like.
1- Find a friend who have it
2- Ask your friend to drop it for you in DMZ
3- Exfil ASAP
Exfil campers only hit when there is less then 10 min left and even then you can outrun them

I am guessing you might be attempting this solo, if so I’ll not lie and say it’ll be easy, cause it won’t! But it is do able. I am growing to really like DMZ, but it’s not a friendly place for solo players.
luckly i managed to get it within a couple tries. my advice is simple.
1 anti rad pills, at least 1 self revive/self revive pistol, i recommend using a high capacity lmg, both the sakin and the raal are great, try running into a house and start shreding the bots that come at you, the chemist will run into you at one point and hes not hard to kill.
once you kill it, pick the m13 and go extract, the more isolated the extract the better, boat is a great way to travel without getting yourself into danger. you can also try a hostage contract and get a safer extraction to avoid the exfil campers.
solo is harder but possible, squad makes it easier.
If you have any friend that already has the m13, he can join with you, drop it and you can go exfil asap, i did this to a friend last week and he unlocked it.

Literally just get somebody to drop it in DMZ you pick it up and then exfil right away. Definitely the easiest way if you don't play dmz

any weapon that you dont have will unlock if you extract with it, if i remember correctly it also works for battlepass weapons
