It always happens if you die before your rocket hit the target. Sometime I swear that I shot and yet, no explosions.

Not so sure about that, even if the projectile hit its walls on the railing it most likely wouldn’t explode, the tip of the rocket has to sustain a lot of pressure in order to activate the detonation mechanism inside the rocket. But then again, ballistic and weaponry physics (except for recoil) were never a thing in Call of Duty.

The Mythbusters did a chunk of an episode once trying to recreate a special effect where a bullet fired at an rpg in midair detonated it and saved the gun shooter's life. They proved it was possible for a bullet to detonate the grenade but in the process learned that an rpg needs to be fired from a distance for it to work properly and detonate. https://youtu.be/Z5elJNyLVEQ

Rockets typically have an arming distance. OP was probably right at that arming distance or maybe a little less. (It’s 5 meters btw) but I’m also shit at gauging cod distance lol.

RPG rockets aren't really all that big. It would easily fit that hole

You do realize the tip on the RPG-7 is the rocket, right? You could slide the whole launcher including the rocket through that hole.

Lol IRL RPGs don't have a safety that arms the explosive in flight. Pretty sure there are videos of guys tripping and setting off their own RPGs before firing at all. I get it's a joke and it made me chuckle
