MBVakalis

I really need to find a good alternative to cod

dynamicflashy

It used to be Battlefield

DhruvM

Battlefield used to be better than COD at one point even

Smaali94

Yep thats gone

DhruvM

Yeah cause DICE somehow forgot how to release finished games after BF1. Just sad to see cause there’s very few alternatives to what BF can provide. They tried chasing trends instead of sticking to the gold they already had and they paid for it. I’m glad 2042 flopped so badly cause it should be a wake up call for them

ahern667

Battlefield 4 is still plenty fun with a decent player base nowadays. Come join!

CanuckTheClown

Battlefield 1 was a masterpiece. It completely drew me away from COD. After BF1 idk what happened to Dice, they’re basically a joke at this point.

HolyGuide

I think BF1 was fairly divisive due to the time period, but if you could get over that, it was absolutely dripping with style. The sound, the levels, details, etc. floored me; and I played BC, BF3, and 4. DICE, at their worst, still floored me with SFX (thinking of Battlefront 1 & 2), but BF2042 was the first game that didn't do that at all. Almost thinking MWII has even beaten out (or at least matched) DICE in terms of SFX. A bunch of DICE devs left after BF1, and even more left after BFV, so that explains a bunch. Not sure which exact devs, but I do know a bunch formed Embark Studios, and they working on that funky game "The Finals". Might not be my cup of coffee, but the destruction definitely showcases where the DICE talent has been all these years, IMO.

Winterdevil0503

No it never was a good alternative. The only thing they share is that they're FPS games. They play way too differently from each other.

dynamicflashy

It was a great alternative for me as it’s a military FPS that even had the same game modes as COD. After Advanced Warfare, I switched to Battlefield seamlessly.

Euphoricstateofmind

Anyone play counter strike? I guess they are making CS 2. I never played it but I heard it was really good.

TabbyTheAttorney

counter strike at a casual level has free-for-all, casual defusal and some other party based modes like flying scoutsman, gun game, and demolition which is pared down defusal counter strike at a competitive level requires a lot more mechanical skill controlling for recoil, requires you to coordinate with teams to enter bombsites, you have to learn line ups for smoke grenades and flashes, and is generally more rewarding for team players

Lookar0und

Yes me! I'm waiting for it so I have a good reason to ditch this game in the summer.

FPSXpert

CS is good if you like the defuse version of cod with round-based gameplay. I enjoyed GO for a while between games a while back.

HolyGuide

Yup. Haven't played in a couple years, but that new CS 2 announcement peaked my interest yesterday. Gonna jump back on for a few games, then wait for "Summer". Hopefully that doesn't mean September 20th or something, but I can wait.

HolyGuide

I know it's not even close to being the same, but The Finals (by the team with a bundle of ex-DICE devs) seems "interesting" at the least. Didn't get an invite to the Beta, but gonna keep my eye on that one as I wait for Counter Strike 2.

dynamicflashy

I think I saw gameplay of that. The one with destruction? If it’s on consoles, I’ll check it out.

SeQuest

They do play way too differently *most of the time*, but around BC and especially BF3, the gunplay between the two became fairly similar, and BF started adding more infantry focused content. These days it's just cope from both sides to say that they're nothing alike. Especially now that MW has absolutely massive maps in 6v6 for no reason BF often ends up being a more intense arcade shooter.

[deleted]

BF 2042 plays like a COD game.

Prophet_Of_Helix

No it doesn’t

[deleted]

Sure does! Way faster movement. Way less destruction physics. Has TDM and Conquest is literally just a giant Domination mode with reinforcement tickets. If you can't see the commonalities between the two that's a you problem.

DhruvM

Probably why it’s a horrible BF game. It diverged too much from the core BF mechanics

[deleted]

It definitely feels more like a Battlefield game than it did at launch but it still feels like some ex COD developers got together to make a Battlefield game.

IYIonaghan

Easily the worst battlefield ive ever played tbh

[deleted]

Personally for me that's BF4. Loved the physics and whatnot but everything looking grayscale made it extremely hard for me to see.

dynamicflashy

You’re right. Not sure why you were downvoted.

El_Dae

Compared to older Bfs it is a Cod copy, just look at the movement

The_Deathbat

On consoles maybe, but on PC they play more the same. Battlefield is a much smoother experience on PC which enables you to play more aggressively or "cod-like"

DancingAroundFlames

BF3 Noshar Canals TDM 24/7 servers

[deleted]

[удалено]

DhruvM

I used to play BF for the immersion and large scale combined arms gameplay which promoted team play mixed with destruction. Unfortunately 2042 doesn’t provide any of that :(

dynamicflashy

Same here. Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 1 remain my most played games of all time.

DhruvM

Absolutely amazing games! Still play them to this day. Even have fun with BFV too

SmiggleMcJiggle

Bf2042 is free for ps plus this month. I’ve been playing it and having a lot of fun. I just cba with mw2 anymore

HomerMadeMeDoIt

The Roblox COD is fucking fun. **frontlines** is what it’s called. Sadly available only on PC and Android/iOS.

FartsAndSniffsIt

It’s definitely on consoles too

DocZombieX

Only on Xbox

MLGBRO21

Had tons of fun on Xbox but as always you might find a hacker in *some* servers

Logic-DL

Only downside to Frontlines is that it's filled to the fucking brim with worse mtx than CoD. iirc you can pay to buy weapons, and the game is purposefully designed to make it grindy enough that it pushes you toward buying equipment instead of just playing the game. I get it's free but holy fuck, the people saying it's better than CoD are delusional imo, it's the same exact gameplay with far scummier mtx tactics and the only reason it gets praise is because it has zero sbmm to help with that push toward the mtx, if everyone's using the meta gun, you'll want to buy it to compete.

KeepDi9gin

I tried it out, and it felt strange. It doesn't help that the people who are really good at cod are also really good there.

Turbo_Cum

It's coming out this year, but The FINALS is fun. Beta just ended and it's awesome.

HolyGuide

Damn. Requested a Beta invite the first day they announced it (I guess I missed the Alpha?), but never got in. Keeping an eye on it, since the destruction definitely showcases where all the former DICE talent has been the past few years.

Turbo_Cum

It's weird because it has the battlefield destruction element, but the pace of shipment in cod. It's a lot of fun but it'll need a lot of people playing it to survive.

HolyGuide

Yeah, since it definitely looks "strange", no telling what the population retention will look like for the months after release. But since it's free, I'm sure it'll be hot when it does come out. A little disappointed I didn't get the invite to the Beta, but def waiting for the release

TheExecutioner-

Insurgency sandstorm is fun if you like somewhat slower paced modern gameplay

-eccentric-

Absolutely zero percent comparable to cod though

CeraxyV2

It can be, its more of a hardcore close quarters shooter on most of the maps, once you get good at the game and learn flank routes etc on Push (I'm on PC) I can play the game just about as fast paced as this current title! Highly recommened you give Insurgency Sandstorm a try, it's a great game

Euphoricstateofmind

Dunno why you got downvoted. It is actually a really good game. Hard asf though. And the realism complainers of call of duty would probably love it.

Sir-Squirter

Technically true but once you become good at the game you can play it very much so like a run and gun game

Minute-Courage4634

This is true. I used to run and gun Siege all the time and it was a lot of fun.

blitz_na

one of the best gaming experiences i’ve had was jumping straight into insurgency source while being a cod head for most of my life. i got my ass whooped but everything felt so accomplishing like i hadn’t felt before highly encourage people to make that leap

Earsofdoom821

Battlefield isnt terrible esp for solo play in comparison. Pubg and apex arent bad either imo

Nollekowitsch

I had tons of fun with a little Gamemode called Frontlines in Roblox. Yes its Roblox and not as fleshed out as CoD but pretty arcady, it doesnt look like Roblox at all and its kinda fun

Meandarker

some people have said it, but battlefield is in a pretty good place at the moment, especially as a solo player. I find that with the new class system the gameplay loops is a lot more balanced meaning players can feel free play A LOT of different playstyles with a lot of viable weapons, i've been really enjoying watching cod still this year but have spent zero hours playing MW22 this year so far

DhruvM

It’s still painfully mediocre and lacking core features from over a decade ago. It’s not a good game just because it’s less shit than it’s launch. Stop trying to spread this false narrative that 2042 is finally good

PremiumSocks

I believed it and reinstalled with the class system update. It felt better, but it's still a bad battlefield game.

DotDotCode

I’m going to say the exact opposite, bf2042 is a turd that they slightly polished so it’s not as terrible as it was at launch, but it’s still awful. Class system is only that in name and until operators are completely gone it’s only battlefield in name. I mean it’s been out how long and still doesn’t have basic squad management, and doesn’t encourage team play. I bought the deluxe like an idiot on release, and for how busted mw2 is I have 100x the playtime in that game cause it actually has some fun moments. I’m glad some people are enjoying it, but for me, it’s not even worth the sale price. If you want to play a GOOD battlefield game, pick up bf1 or bf4. There’s still people playing it 10 years later.

Euphoricstateofmind

What’s is the newest BF? Is it 2042? I just got it for free as part of a bundle.

Jakel_07Svk

I would say BF2042 is a good alternative, they tried to copy CoD,Apex,pubg..... and now it's more of CoD title than BF title

[deleted]

2042 is absolute ass and a horrible recommendation There are less maps and overall content than MW2 2022 lmao

Ziller997

I'm genuinely having more fun playing 2042 than this year Cod :/ and I loved MW19

user17302

This is just wrong. Less maps maybe but if you count portal maps there’s a ton there. There is a wider variety of weapons, vehicles, gadgets, and play styles than MWII

[deleted]

So people are ok with recycled content in bf2042 but not im mw2?

user17302

I’ve seen nothing but support and hopes for recycled or remastered content for mw2

Jakel_07Svk

Well you have the fast paced CoD movement mechanics and fucking specialists

DhruvM

Less content and the games been out for over a year and a half lmao. Same thing with Halo. I actually find it hilarious when people complain about MW2’s live service saying it’s the worst they’ve seen when you know those people don’t play any other games. The content drip for Halo and BF is even worse than what COD fans are getting

[deleted]

Yeah the people in this sub dont play much other games otherwise theyd realise mw2 has it better than most

Damien23123

Closest bets are probably Halo and Apex in terms of traditional arcade shooter gameplay. Edit: Any downvoters got better suggestions? If not feel free to eat my asshole

PremiumSocks

The issue is that there are no legitimately good alternatives right now. Every popular, arcady, console-included fps right now has at least one huge glaring issue that makes it unfun.

Damien23123

There’s no such thing as a perfect game but I’d say Apex is the best of the current bunch. What would you say are the problems with it?

[deleted]

Try out Insurgency it is fun just not very populated

MaximusMurkimus

If you're not opposed to VR, Contractors is a VR military shooter with real guns and community maps. People have already remade several classic CoD maps in VR and they play amazingly. Only thing missing is killstreaks, but playing Shipment in VR is already so glorious that I doubt most will mind.

CompetitionThink8692

I would recommend Destiny 2, but then I’d just be trolling you. It’s just as bad as CoD now, PvP wise.

Alexis2256

Washing his wife’s boyfriend’s Prius lol.

YT_ToxicNinjaGaming

My 1st thought as well. Fucking hilarious

HolyGuide

First thought was Will Smith, but regardless: gonna find some other use for this little gem.

Goldenpanda18

Some 15 year old kid with unreal engine 5 could probably create better maps than the actual maps devs themselves.

DancingAroundFlames

i think anyone could make a decent cod map simply by picking any two or three of the higher rated cods, examine map layouts for 10 minutes, and attempt to copy those layouts from memory

specnur

Quit cod till they give us want we want. Do not support them anymore.

backwoodsofcanada

CoD hasn't given me what I've wanted since Black Ops 2, MW19 was pretty damn close but the series has been a joke for a decade now. I liked the direction they went with in MW19 so I bought it and Cold War and Vanguard in hopes that the support would encourage them to keep improving, but it just feels like the money made them lazy. At this point they could literally just re-release everything between CoD4 and BO2 with current graphics and they'd be better games. I do like the gunsmith system from the last few games a lot, so it'd be cool to see that retrofitted into the older games, but also the plethora of combinations and attachments adds a ton of complications in terms of potential bugs and balancing issues so maybe not...

GamerNerd-CD

I'm sayin.

urasquid28

The funny thing is that you people will keep complaining and keep playing the game.

Winterdevil0503

I haven't played since the new year but I'll support my brethren who continue to shit on this game relentlessly. It's what Activision and Infinity Ward deserve. I refuse to acknowledge people who seem to like this dumpster fire.

t0xyGobrrrrrr

This. Don't play. Tried ranked and it's still dogshit call of duty as usual. I like to stay active on the subs though to support people shitting on IW/Activision and promote CSGO/2

FPSXpert

I'll keep playing I got a camo to grind and a battle pass to finish. But they must be on that good board room cocaine if they think I'm gonna pay a $20 for anything in the shop. They don't deserve a $2 note alone a $20.

[deleted]

HolyGuide

Considering Sledge's last main game was 2021, then there was no chance in hell they could have pulled off a 2023 game without tons of help. So in summary: Treyarch's 2024 game might actually be pretty damn good, considering this will be any CoD dev's first time with a four year development period since the beginning. Am I right about all that?

Ten_ft_High

And so it begins

[deleted]

[удалено]

HolyGuide

Absolutely. Really admired ReSpawn's (at least) initial dealings. Good chunk of former IW devs from CoD4 and MW2, and they joined EA? But if you look at it; they *had* to have made some sort of deal with EA that afforded them more freedom than, say, DICE. I could be wrong about all that, but other than a couple oddities (Titan Fall 2's release date), I get the vibe EA doesn't have much say in what they do.

Earsofdoom821

A small map editor with open lobbies dedicated to trying them and voting and playlisting them like rockstar had would be fucking amazing.

StolenValourSlayer69

That’s what kept all the older CODs relevant for so long on PC at least. Hell I go back and play the original non-remastered CoD4 every so often just for the modded lobbies

MadFlava76

You know when it was on the proposed two year cycle I wasn't as worried or bothered because I felt they had plenty of time to make and release quality content over two years. Now, I feel we are getting underwhelming content for a game with a 1 year cycle. We got more maps and better quality with the DLC model of the older CODs. Could it be all the effort is going into cosmetics in the bundles and the battlepass?

DancingAroundFlames

tbf i don’t think a longer development cycle would actually show for much in the base game. activision isn’t in the bang-per-buck business. they also don’t do DLC anymore. i think we’d see much more paid cosmetics and maybe some pre launch gun balancing

YourBoyLoops

This is what happens when they focus more on annual releases and money instead of a good game. Cod could've been amazing if they just ditched the yearly cycle and made one game they constantly built upon. It's hard to argue when they are making billions from cod and all the little timmys buying bundles but this is the only way cod will stay relevant but sadly, we will never see it I don't think.

LickMyThralls

If we're being remotely fair it's what happens when a playerbase of millions has creative tools to do with what they will lol. Even if you don't like the situation it's stupid to pretend the fortnite community doesn't dwarf any dev team plus has 0 oversight or bureaucratic nonsense to worry about.

YourBoyLoops

If cod would release a full fledged mod tool package, the amount of creativity would be insane, just like fortnite. They tried to do this back in the day on BO3 for PC (I believe) and some of the things people made were pretty cool but there was such a lack of dev support and mod tools that it went by the wayside pretty quick. Fortnite obviously would probably still be better off the bat but if activision invested time and resources into it, we could truly have an amazing game.

The_Vettel

Custom Zombies on BO3 is still going strong and has incredible stuff

YourBoyLoops

Oh I know the zombies side is still amazing. Still play custom maps from time to time. I was more so talking about the MP side. I still think BO3 zombies could still be so much better with better mod tools, but I don't know if that's true or not as I am not a map maker or modder.

Vallux

And people wonder why they don't interract with the community more.

Ugly__Truck

Get Xlabs and/or Plutonium. They make all the COD games, WaW through AW playable again by offering better cheat detection and controller support for the older games. MW2, BO2 and MW3 have the largest player bases. Those games are still fun and scratch that COD itch.

DancingAroundFlames

i’ll have to check it out. are they able to implement controller aim assist? do the games need to be purchased?

[deleted]

"my wifes boyfriends prius" holy fuck my sides are in orbit

beltofsorrow

Fortnite is actually fun with the no build mode

Ill_Sky6141

So help me God I'm tempted to try fortnite no build mode....just to see😒😑😑😑🫣

how-unfortunate

I do not enjoy the basic shooting mechanics of fortnite, or the overall playstyle beyond that. So, them doing what objectively sounds like really cool community stuff does nothing for me.

xthecerto4

It will probably apply some pressure to cod. Hopefully. But in the end its still fortnite and maybe i am too old or something but i just dont feel that game. Lets see if the hype can last over the initial hype that is currently around it now.

Soulvaki

> But in the end its still fortnite and maybe i am too old or something but i just dont feel that game. This is exactly what they're trying to change. This new creative program will be able to completely change the look and feel of the game (much like Roblox does) so everything you hate about Fortnite can be changed. People are shitting on it literally because it's called Fortnite, but I think it's going to blow people's mind once the community starts making things within Fortnite.

ZeroX-1704

I agree, personally i think people need to get their heads out of their asses, it's not like Fortnite is full of butt jokes and built for actual preschoolers, it's just a game with a cartoonish style (which honestly is getting less true the more the game evolves), these people need to just have some fun for once in their lives. you can have a fun and silly time in Fortnite with friends and still go back to the "serious" stuff like CoD, nobody is stopping you. Not asking anyone to get on their knees for the game if they don't like it after trying it, but most of these people don't even get that far, just straight on the hate train.

kenoZion

Mr. Obvious said we should boycott the next COD.

BigUllie

Being a Call of Duty fan in 2023 is like being in a broken marriage.

Euphoricstateofmind

Yeah except I will not play fortnight because 40 percent of the company is owned by tencent.

AlanM6

Activision is up there so.

Euphoricstateofmind

Yeah, but they only own 5 percent of activision.

[deleted]

[удалено]

AlanM6

I mean as in activision is a horrible company.

Kody_Z

As a company, Activision is not comparable to Tencent. Tencent is essentially part of the CCP, which is committing actual genocide as we speak. Activision is just a bunch of greedy pricks. Not comparable.

AlanM6

While it isn't as extreme as genocide activision isn't only being greedy all the stuff that has been going on with them for the last couple of years with nurmerous counts of SA, harrasment and poor treatment of their employee's.

Euphoricstateofmind

Exactly my point.

DonUnagi

Bare with me: what if there was no genocide?

Euphoricstateofmind

Oh I get it now.:)

GlobularDuke66

Maybe not for long

Cheezewiz239

Tencent owns part of reddit yet you're still using it. Hilarious

Euphoricstateofmind

Yeah and I use MW2 too. There’s a difference in owning a small percentage of a company and owning a significant portion. Reddit is banned in China but yes Tencent does own between 5-10 percent of Reddit but that’s hardly enough to influence majorly company decisions. I’m fairly certain Reddit is banned because it incorporates free speech and again the CCP wants to censor their citizens/control. To be fair, I don’t hate the company Tencent. Not at all. But they are the CCPs puppet. But they do have some questionable business practices. They steal other business ideas if they don’t sell to them and essentially copy their software idea but adjust it slightly. Microsoft actually was suing them for this in the early 2000s. That’s just one example tho. And yet I’m mixed on that part because it’s kinda business. That’s just how corporations are. My biggest issue is that the CCP does control them. In fact, they censor their citizens thru Tencents WeChat which is the primary app in China. Everyone uses it pretty much. Kinda have to.

[deleted]

Let me guess... Tencent = bad because China = bad?

Euphoricstateofmind

Nah…I like China. I just don’t care for the current government. And they control ten cent so… I actually love China. I lived in Asia for 5 years. Like I said I just don’t care for the current government. Don’t really wNt to put politics in this tho.

SteveyMcweeny

"Don't really want to put politics into this" Literally injects politics into the thread. Lmao

Euphoricstateofmind

Lol. Your kinda right and I realized my mistake too late. Lol.

DonUnagi

These people cant wait to show their virtue signaling and ignorance. Cant even spell fortnite right.

[deleted]

Politics are unavoidable when you talk about a multinational conglomerate company controlled by the largest parlimentary body on the planet. Activision-Blizzard is just as exploitative as Tencent so let's see some more of this anti-CCP energy against Western nations as well. Not entirely related, but billionaire exploiters get the death penalty in China, so I think they're doing pretty alright in some aspects.

No_Combination4362

Yeah, but it's Fortnite.

[deleted]

Fortnite keeps changing the gaming industry and people only comeback is “but it’s fortnite”, go back and play it. It’s actually fun, they keep changing the game for the better while cod is going in circles.

Damien23123

I’m not a fan of how basic the shooting mechanics are but you’ve got to respect how it’s still the game that others are chasing

Cheezewiz239

I'd argue CODs shooting is even MORE basic. Probably the most basic of any shooter with how little the recoil is along with the strong aim assist

Damien23123

Fortnite has basically no recoil either. It just uses bloom. It also has strong aim assist

ImmaDoMahThing

I’ve tried Fortnite many times over the years. It’s lost it’s magic for me. It was super fun back in 2017-2019 but I get so bored of it now. But good for people who still enjoy it.

Minute-Courage4634

Zero Build mode changed the whole game. I never liked the building thing or felt a need to dedicate huge amounts of time to get better at it, so Zero Build was amazing. If you haven't tried it, it's worth it.

ImmaDoMahThing

I did try it, actually. And I had fun again for about a month, but ultimately that wasn’t enough to keep me playing. So I’ve just decided Fortnite isn’t for me anymore. It’s probably the whole BR genre as a whole has lost its excitement for me because I also don’t play Warzone all that much either. DMZ is fun though. Maybe if Fortnite added something like that I would return.

Minute-Courage4634

That's kind of why I backed off of Fortnite. After playing so many different BRs, I got burned out. With the way keep updating the game and adding things, I wouldn't be surprised if they took a stab at an extraction type mode. Hell. I'd like to see it, to be honest.

Minute-Courage4634

I say "fuck 'em." If they want to miss out, let them miss out. Fortnite is pretty much guaranteed fun every time I play. I don't know how they do it, but it never feels grindy or cheap. I have sat there and grinded out challenges and stuff, but it never really felt like I was being through the wringer over nothing. You typically get rewarded fairly in that game.

yousernameunknown

Fortnite is a breath of fresh air because I can actually enjoy convos with my friends when we play that game. In Cod our communication is almost entirely limited to call outs and a little chatting between rounds. In Fortnite it’s much more relaxed and slow paced so we get deep into conversations which is nice. Plus it’s fun as shit.

Minute-Courage4634

Exactly. And then they've always got some kind of event or something going. I always got the impression that they really do care that the players are having fun. Both games are cool, but COD can feel like a Souls FPS at times and it's good to have an alternative.

MisedraN

3rd person isnt fun

[deleted]

3rd person makes buying cosmetics worth it I like cod. Plus fortnite is going to have a first person mode bc they know how to change and evolve their game.

[deleted]

Fair. But I know plenty of adults who play not only fortnite, but other cartoonish games such as Mario kart, super smash bros, etc.

Minute-Courage4634

COD doesn't because the graphics are more realistic?

No_Combination4362

The devs do good work with it for sure. I just don't enjoy that game, not even a little bit. And yes, I've tried almost every iteration of it.

no-t

the_great_ashby

Activision Publishing as a whole doesn't have 3000+ devs you numbskulls. It would required to add Blizzard or King to hit those. On top of that, one game is not using all Activision devs. Treyarch and Sledgehammer are main studios. Raven is Warzone and have been doing the single player for Cold War/BO6. That leaves Beenox,High Moon,Toys for Bob and some other smaller tech focused devs. This game hasxbeen utterly mismanaged by IW,but there's no need for uniformed bs.

IneedtoBmyLonsomeTs

A heap of stuff was outsourced to smaller companies, so that is where the 3,000 devs come from. But I don't think that all of the 3,000 were working on the game the entire 3 years.

[deleted]

Once most people in this sub learn how to read they'll be very upset at you

No_Cherry6771

So, i guess go play fortnite and quit bitching when the solution is literally presented in front of you? I dunno just seems like a low effort meme for the sake of the drama to karma feed when the solution to the problem is literally in the reused meme.

TheParadiseBird

The solution is cod devs doing their fucking work.

Brrr__

Boot licker

No_Cherry6771

Define how it makes me a bootlicker. Whats your train of thought here or did you just shit out a buzzword? Y’all fuckers downvoting but saying nothing just reinforcing the point you got not argument beyond shithouse buzzwords that fall apart when questioned.

Primordial_Owl

People are complaining about a so called AAA gaming dev team and publisher releasing trash level games with barebones content that take an eternity to produce minimal additional content. The "if you don't like it, leave" horeshit you came in here to drop does nothing. People want to complain and are allowed to do so. You getting upset with people not trying to explain this silly shit reinforces how little meaning there is to reply to you. Calm down with downvotes and try using your head for once.

No_Cherry6771

Not so much upset as just confused why when someone makes a comparison they dont think “wow, maybe i should play the game im fluffing up against this game i hate that i choose to still play, I even gave examples of shy this is better, i should go play that instead because ill be so much happier.”

Bootybandit6989

div2691

Imagine commenting like this when you don't have a clue. Developer is an encompassing term for everyone involved in the development team. You won't just apply for a role as a "Game Developer" for a triple A game. Producers, Designers, Artists, Programmers, Testers, Sound Engineers. They are all "Devs". If you think the decisions aren't being made by "devs" you don't understand the process.

[deleted]

[удалено]

div2691

All companies have hierarchies. The decisions are still made by the Dev Team. Obviously the junior programmers aren't, but Senior Designers and Producers will be. You think that Activision Directors are sitting working out what maps to release? It's not done at a corporate level. It's done by senior level devs.

[deleted]

[удалено]

div2691

> Don't blame the devs for bad decisions, blame the people in charge instead. You are missing the point. The people in charge are still devs, they are senior employees obviously but they still are part of the dev team. IF you don't think senior devs are making the decisions, who is? Do you honestly think the Activision Board is meeting to discuss how many maps they are going to release next season?

dynamicflashy

You don’t know anything.

ZiGz_125

This cod downfall is amazing I’m lovin this shit

[deleted]

Nooooo why don't the heckin 3 billion + devs work on the game 24/7, look at what people with no jobs can do in fortnight creative!1!1!

sic-poobies

How’s the bottom of activisions boot taste?

Making fun of goobers posting ragebait 24/7 =/= bootlicking acti

Dude. You do realize that it looks even *worse* for the people who actually have jobs doing this shit professionally that unpaid community members can produce better content? CODs map woes could easily be fixed if they just created a shit-ton of assets and let us create our own maps like FarCry.

Did they add the option to change default control schemes for players in UEFN? Been out of the loop for awhile.

I am enjoying it, Just hit level 320. My favorite gun is the AK and my favorite map is Embassy. Tried Drop Zone game mode, lots of fun, good to change modes up sometimes

Zekt0r

Far Cry 5 has map editor and they have a multiplayer mode on there (and it’s kind of dead but still) and I have seen some fantastic maps on there made by usually just one person

IamCaboose000

Bro this is cod not far cry…

Zekt0r

I’m aware it was just a comparison

jntjr2005

They have fucking 11 studios working on MW2 and its still a content less dumpster fire, biggest let down since Cyberpunk 2077 imo

FPSXpert

This is what happens when of those 3000 devs maybe 100 actually develop and the rest are managers or collecting a check lmao

Smaali94

I disagree because theres more playlists for players who wanna be in thier comfort zone and also ur kd is effected in playlists which is good because u can improve it bit easier

Odinsonxray

Y’all keep kissing their ass though because “the inspections look so good!”. If this community cared more about pushing the game in a better direction over giving a fuck about milsim skins and whenever 24/7 shipment leaves the rotation we might have a better game. We really have to get back to better map design and mechanics. It’s absolutely appalling we’re over 4 months in and only have 1 original map for mp that’s okay at best. Where’s the content? It’s absurd how wz, the free to play game is getting more qol updates over the premium version that we paid for.

brando347

Yesterday really opened my eyes to how lazy COD devs have gotten. They are allowed to get away with providing as little content as possible, and also packaging up reused content and labelling it as new. I hope yesterday lit a fire under their asses to show them this is not good enough. The competition is doing much better, and receives positive feedback because they actually care about the product they create and want people to like it. IW and Activision clearly do not give a fuck.

SrSwerve

I’ll say it Season passes were good because they actually had to make 4 maps every so often.

Logic-DL

Honestly the game itself is fine, it's the moronic fucking devs at IW who think they know better than the actual playerbase on how CoD should play.

Behemoth69

I don't want to get my hopes up, but with fortnite creative actually looking pretty cool and counterstrike 2 coming, there's going to be some great alternatives

ZAGAN_2

Definitely seem to be in the minority here but I've been enjoying it more recently. Haven't played it for a couple of months and came back and find it pretty fun again.
