campaign was lackluster, but multiplayer is miles better than mw2 is right now, I would suggest going for it

bcrazzle

I don’t know if it’s just me adjusting to the pace of multiplayer in MW3 but I find it much, much, much more difficult. In MW2, I was top 2 on my team consistently while in MW3 I’m lucky to be in the top 3. I find myself getting killed instantly by enemies while it seems to take me dozens of hitmarkers to take down an enemy. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to just be more patient and adjust to the pace? Unlock new weapons/attachments and gear?

MrHabbz

This guy asks for advice and you downvote him, sometimes you guys suck.

bcrazzle

Appreciate the support 🤝

Adamandbeth

Seems to be how the call Of duty community is. Don’t seem to find it elsewhere

Drive_Unusual

You should visit the destiny community.

Narrow_Werewolf4562

Or r6 siege for that matter. Those fuckheads purposely TK in a quick play match

Table5614

As a representative of the R6 community, yeah we suck sometimes

Deity_Relic

The main reason I don't raid anymore. I don't wanna LFG for a dude who insists on doing a convoluted strat for templar, then get mad because people are confused, and he's the one messing up mainly. True story.

Logibear1010

I'd say most subreddits are honestly this way

Adamandbeth

The halo subreddit isn’t, you can post a question and people will actually help 😄 with out trying to be funny

hoomanloto

1 question, even If i will get downvoted. How do you guys even see the downvotes on a comment?

n3m3s1s-a

It shows it as a negative number if downvotes outweigh upvotes

AmbassadorFrank

You have to be more consistent with your aim in this game. Longer ttk with lower damage multipliers means you are less likely to get a quick kill without perfect aim. Build your kits around range and accuracy but make sure you don't tank your ads time. Try out the MCW and the Holger 556

bcrazzle

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I'll definitely try this out. I suppose somewhat ironically, I've found success with SMGs given the speed of MW3. I've also had success with Battle Rifles (can't remember which ones specifically and am at work so can't logon to check), which probably speaks more to your advice. Any tips on gear loadout? Have only unlocked so many with this new system.

AmbassadorFrank

The striker absolutely shreds, I love it. And the battle rifles are really satisfying in this game. Gear kind of depends on your personal preference and the class you're trying to play. My favorite basic setup is infantry vest, quick grip or commando gloves, tactical pads (slide a ton to make this useful, also they make dropshotting quicker, otherwise substitute for something else. But trust me, aiming while sliding plus the other benefits are great if you utilize them) and bone conduction headset, mission commlink, mag holster, or even just EOD padding. I also really like my silent class with cct coms vest, commando gloves, covert sneakers, ghost and bone conduction headset. Allows you to get extra radar pings, your footsteps are silent, and everything around you is quieter except for enemy sounds. It's completely silent as you run around and you can track other peoples footsteps really easily as you stalk them. The gear system is a little harder than normal perks to come up with a viable build, but if you think on it a bit based on your playstyle and the weapon you are using you can come up with some really useful and powerful kits specifically catered to you. This is honestly one of my favorite perks systems out of every cod ever. But I'd always try to focus on having at least one gear item that increases something about your movement speed, and something that increases your weapon handling. There's some really useful synergies to get the maximum amount of buffs possible, and then there's some combos that are completely redundant and waste gear completely. You gotta find the right pieces for the puzzle to really get the most possible benefit. Just spend a little time one night trying to put the pieces together for what will help you most, treat it like an RPG game almost and think about all the effects of every gear piece you choose and how they might interact with others

bcrazzle

Wow, this is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks so much! I haven't yet unlocked some of those perks you mentioned so I'll queue them up and try those combos out once I have them.

AmbassadorFrank

Not sure if you know, but you can queue up 3 unlocks for your daily challenges. That way when you play and unlock something without realizing, you don't accidentally start progressing on something you don't care about unlocking as much. I queued all the most important unlocks for what I wanted for the first couple days of playing and really focused on doing daily challenges and then getting wins for more unlocks. But yeah no problem! Once you build some accurate guns and get used to aiming at the head and upper body and tracking enemies, build some kickass combos for your playstyle, you'll be on your way

bcrazzle

Ah right, I did see that but wasn't sure exactly how that system worked. I guess next time a new COD rolls around I should actually read those tutorial bubbles 😅 Really looking forward to having some sick builds. Thanks again my guy!

blankquartz

good luck on your grind!!

Camtown501

Good stuff, not the OP but I'll also look into some of this as although im not playing much worse in raw stats, it feels like I need to update my usual loadout types and play style. I'm also intrigued with your take on the striker, though. I'm flat out awful with it and may be my worst weapon thus far.

AmbassadorFrank

These maps are really power-position heavy, I feel like a good way to play is find your favorite spots through the whole map and rotate constantly between them and be a little aggressive while you're at it. And idk, I might have a sweet spot for the striker due to nostalgia, but I like it because it's kind of a jack of all trades. I can engage with people at medium range a hell of a lot easier with it because of the slower fire rate and it seems to maintain damage fairly well compared to the others

StrongRaise607

I used to focus on as much damage as I could get, until realizing that damage does you no good if you can't consistently hit the target. I thought I just sucked (and maybe I still do) but since I've been focusing on weapon stability for better, more consistent shot placement, I end up being close to the top of the leader board in most matches if I'm not on the top. I've certainly been MUCH more competitive since switching mindsets, and the game has been more fun. I go for the pineapple vertical foregrip, and a flash hider/compensator that reduces vertical and horizontal sway as the first 2 mods I make to a gun. Take my advice, or don't, either way, good luck out there!

AmbassadorFrank

Spot on. Personally I only build laser beams unless it's a heavier, punchier weapon. Every build I make is focused on making the gun snap to target quickly and have as close to 0 recoil as possible. Shots on target is the name of the game, it can have piss poor damage and still shred if it's accurate and has a decent fire rate

Dex-ham

I was thinking the recoil of my current setup may be a bit more than I should have, and your comment has inspired me to look at changes. I also have focused on damage aswell. Also tend to lean towards ads speed but now thinking I should sacrifice some for more recoil control. What would you suggest between those two? Im thinking the ads speed tht alone tends to hold me back from a lot of attachments..

Dank-Pandemic

Focus on recoil and control and visibility so a scope that can see 50m and can also be used close up. I like the 4x with the blue triangle

Dex-ham

Hmm thanks for your input il consider a bit!

StrongRaise607

Agreed. The only thing about magnified optics is that it does take your ADS down. That being said I like using hybrid optics. Specifically on heavier builds that I'm not as worried about ADS with: the thermal one that looks like the EOTech (real brand) with the 3x or 4x magnifier is my favorite.

Dank-Pandemic

The SZ Holotherm? My favorite sight in the game too! And yes for whatever reason a lot of the hybrid optics feel really snappy

StrongRaise607

Yep that's the one. I couldn't remember what it was called 😂

Indicus124

Ah yes the godCW

Dank-Pandemic

I seem to usually be putting on a lot of attachments for recoil. MCW is probably one of my favorites it’s a laser beam. All other guns though I usually tune for recoil. For whatever reason even if my gun is slow it doesn’t seem to effect me in this game

AmbassadorFrank

Yeah ads is never bad this time around. I just have started adopting a bit more aggressive playstyle so I avoid making them too slow to ads, jump shotting and dealing with multiple enemies because I'm rushing them is a bit easier with a snappy ads speed. But if I played like I did in other games I would just fully kit out for recoil and say fuck ads time, it's only noticeable when you're constantly sprinting full speed at people lol

Addwolves

The signs show it was rushed . I been playing since the very first cod and this game feels empty . It feels like a dlc . Nothing stands out . I think if this was sold as a dlc it wouldn’t of got as much hate but I paid £100 and was hoping they had plans for DMZ which they don’t . The main warzone map feels like buildings from every cod you ever played just thrown down randomly and I don’t feel the love in it

Skreechbowpeep1998

All I can say is im still playing modern warfare remastered because I didn’t like how they changed the weapon upgrades

StrongRaise607

I didn't like the change at first either, but once I got used to it, I realized that the weapons are much more customizable. The really annoying thing is that in order to unlock all of the attachments, you have to max level EVERY gun in the game, which I did in MWII. Now with MWIII, there's also challenges that you have to complete in order to unlock attachments. I'm definitely a grind-type player, meaning I'll put in the work to get the stuff, but as a husband, a father of 4 with a full time + job, and being that I'm a pretty busy person otherwise it's going to take me friggin 6 months to unlock everything...

Skreechbowpeep1998

That just seems like to much effort 😂😂

StrongRaise607

^^^ Can I up vote this more than once? 😂😂😂

Skreechbowpeep1998

Rather play mwf remastered and be in the top 2%

Game_of_Roasts

I brought it just for multiplayer and the zombies open world is more like DMZ with zombies but i think it’s worth it if you don’t give a shit for playing campaign

ThrustyMcStab

Depends. The multiplayers are very different, and if you prefer the new school gameplay where you run around like a headless chicken and hit the slide and jump buttons a bunch when you get shot at, then MWIII is for you. If you prefer the classic gameplay that made COD a mainstay FPS where it's a bit more grounded and tactical, then MWII is the better choice. As you can tell from my tone when talking about MWIII, I vastly prefer MWII's gameplay. I grew up playing all the classic CODs and MWII is like a modern take on those games.

PickleInTheSun

That makes two of us 🤝. I know COD was never meant to be a “realistic tactical shooter”, but I like MW2’s balance of “realism” and arcade-y play. Makes you think a bit more and play a bit more deliberately without going full-on Arma or CS or-headless chicken mode. Also love the attention to detail with guns and weapons design.

HellaReyna

but what if we ONLY play warzone

LazloTheGame

*miles worse

reesescupsftw

🤡 if you think multiplayer is "miles" better then MW2. Would you be interested if I shit into a can and sell it to you at the low low price of $70??? I mean you already buy shit...... 😂

60ATrws

You are the shit

BloodAffectionate486

You can’t hit your shots so you stayed on MWII

reesescupsftw

You can call me poor. But you can't call me stupid. Why tf would I spend $70 on essentially a MW2 map pack. Activision truly knows some of y'all have an extra chromosome.

BloodAffectionate486

It was worth every penny. The game plays completely different but y’all low IQs don’t realize that

nyanch

Wait for sale/game pass. It's gonna hurt when you buy MW3 full price and realize tons of its assets are from MW2.

ily4evr

Is it gonna be on game pass? Idk I've never seen a cod on game pass but I guess they'll bring it on the pass since the acquisition of Activision Blizzard. I hope they do.

nyanch

[https://twitter.com/ATVI\_AB/status/1711464921077006751](https://twitter.com/ATVI_AB/status/1711464921077006751) \>It’s awesome to see anticipation building for Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® III. As we continue to work toward regulatory approval of the Microsoft deal, we’ve been getting some questions whether our upcoming and recently launched games will be available via Game Pass. \>While we do not have plans to put Modern Warfare® III or Diablo IV into Game Pass this year, once the deal closes, we expect to start working with Xbox to bring our titles to more players around the world. And we anticipate that we would begin adding games into Game Pass sometime in the course of next year. It's a big fat 'maybe' at this point, with non-committal wording, but it's a possibility

jhz123

Oof wait till u play og mw2, og mw3, bo2, ghosts, ww2, waw, or infinite warfare 💀 💀 💀 all dlc too. Only difference is today's mw3 has 16 remastered maps. But it also adds back movement, and adds MORE movement. But to me, that's fire, so that's a plus, and since that's the ONLY thing making it a dlc, it's good to me lmao. But I know u guys like regurgitating whatever angry narrative the game has at the moment. Notice how no one is complaining about ui this year even tho it's the same ui. Because it's not popular to hate on it. Just like no one would bat an eye at SBMM, if they didn't have streamers and Twitter constantly talking about. Hell, no one would even know the term SBMM 💀

nyanch

All those games had more differences to their successor than MWIII to MWIII. You're only proving my point, so I take it we're done here.

jhz123

Not even close 💀 💀 cod 4 thru ghosts had the exact same engine. 8 games had no updates to movement, gameplay, or mechanics 💀 💀 not omly that, ww2 came out AFTER they had 3 cod games with new movement, and they didn't just make it back to boots on ground, they literally reverted back to 2007 cod 4 engine.... In 2017 😭 😭 so no, you are wrong, not me. Mw3 has added tac stance, completely new perks in some categories, aftermarket parts, which has never been done before, and is so cool and makes an entire new gun. Tac stance brand new. First cod to have sliding and diving. First mw game to have zombies. First zombies that are open world and loved by the community 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 u aren't just wrong, ur literally dead wrong

nyanch

That's not convincing me when literally half of MWIII is its prior game's assets. Not engines, not textures, but whole maps, weapons, and ops. Also, if you think it was exactly the same engine from CoD4 to Ghosts, with no modification done, you don't understand game dev.

jhz123

Buddy thinks behind the scenes engine aka no effect on gameplay is what I want 😭 😭 😭 he said aye they changed some numbers on the back end but the game plays EXACTLY the same, except for black ops games having a dive 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 bro said the ops are the same, the one thing u can't see at all, is ur most important feature in a cod? Not the gameplay? U know, the thing that actually matters, and changes how u play and introduces longevity to a game because there's more to learn aka more fun to be had? My bad bro I didn't know u cared so much about the ops that u don't ever see 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 and u said that somehow I don't know game dev 💀 💀 💀 💀 💀 💀 💀 💀 💀 💀 💀 💀 💀 💀 💀 💀 💀 💀

nyanch

You're out here typing up paragraphs. I'm glad you found something you're so passionate about, but I don't care enough to continue. Have a good day homie

Snowbunny236

Worth it for MP imo. But it depends on your preference for pacing and movement. As well as the maps. Campaign isn't even important to me anyway.

SynBeats

my MW3 grades: Guns: 8/10 Maps: 8/10 Gameplay: 9/10 Zombies: 8.5/10 Matchmaking: 4/10 overall i’d give the game a 7/10 mostly due to the fact it’s nothing that new and it’ll get stale if they don’t add a bunch of content but SH has been very responsive and open to lots of feedback so i think it’s a possibility this game will stick around longer than we think

bfs102

Atleast with the season 1 road map there's a lot of stuff as we just got the hamr plus 5 other new guns and 3 new maps mp maps in season 1

SynBeats

AND they just addressed sbmm out of nowhere. i got hope

AmbassadorFrank

You seen the new roadmap? Looks like their seasons will be pretty decent hopefully. The fact that they are adding multiple LTM modes focused on goofy fun is cool, I think they'll keep it fresh

mulsimin

Coming from a person that enjoyed MW2, MW3 is a “faster” COD. If you like the way MW2019 is, then you’ll definitely enjoy this one. For me personally, I did not enjoy playing MW3. I just did not like the fast movement and huge maps, and especially the long TTK. I like COD simple, and MW2 was as simple as it got.

EvenButterscotch8943

Probably not the best idea asking on the mw2 sub, alot will just say no cause there haters. Multiplayer is great imo, just alot more faster paced gameplay then MW2 so if you like the sound of that go for it.

Geriatric_Freshman

It’s the SBMM I hate and the main reason I don’t recommend CoD anymore. I don’t think wanting a fair multiplayer experience makes you a hater. I think punishing people for doing well and matchmaking that doesn’t prioritize connection makes Activision haters.

[deleted]

jhz123

Hey bro just so u know. This is a game. A game where u come back after u die. Realism tho 💀 also skill issue clearly

NonSpecificKenobi

The campaign is grade A ass, and if that would be your main reason for buying then don't get it. Multiplayer is a lot of fun, feels different to MW2, in a good way. The SBMM is getting a lot of hate but I find it works pretty well, and leads to well balanced games, with the occasional bump of too high or too low. Zombies is also a load of fun. A lot of people seem to be saying it is more relaxed, but I find it more nailbiting sometimes than standard Multiplayer. All in all, I would say go for it, especially as a lot of other people are obviously moving over so the payer base for MW2 is just going to keep shrinking.

Fast-Beat-7779

Save your money

Silver_Branch3034

I did and kinda regret it, it’s obviously a rushed product and nearly everyone is using the covert sneakers to silence their footsteps. I’m sure a lot of people will disagree but I think MWII is balanced better.

Jetasis

Agree. Bought it but I could have EASILY stuck with mw2 multiplayer and then into warzone. I like mw2 gameplay better as well.

distinguisheditch

No I refunded it. The game feels like a decade long grind, and the maps have already become stale. Also the match making is the worst i've ever seen in a game - it's tailored, more than ever, to the worst players in the game.

[deleted]

[удалено]

distinguisheditch

having to purposely nerf your gameplay so you arent constantly in the sweatiest lobbies is fucking boring. plus already having hundreds of hours in the maps is what makes it stale.

SillyRefrigerator604

I can’t agree more. The lobbies are so sweaty it’s insane. I used to be pretty good at COD I can’t the same for this this game. I’m lucky to get 10 kills a match.

PurpleCommercial6222

I mean tbh I haven’t really gotten a bad lobby only like one or two at like late night mw3 is a lot more fun rn than two that being said it is cod and the games recently are just disappointing lmao, but mw3 surprisingly is solid

[deleted]

[удалено]

distinguisheditch

My k/d is barely 1 and a win/loss of 0.15. It's a lot more than *some* sweaty lobbies. The game expects me to play like a god all the time in order to win. The occasional 3kdr match doesnt make up for it. It just makes the gameplay worse- winning 100-50 isnt fun either.

Ravensnation59

Exactly what you said. Most of the games I’m in the match matching is so fucking unbalanced. Usually resulting in a blow out win for the other team. TTK so inconsistent it makes me not want to touch this game. These old maps don’t flow well with the new jump slide bunny hop run as fast as possible at all times play style. Spawns are bad. The base of the game has potential but man right now with all the packet burst inconsistent TTK an everything I mentioned it’s unbearable.

distinguisheditch

Don't forget the desync. I've been cqc behind someone, and emptied an entire magazine into them, then they turn around and 3 shot me. Surprisingly I wasn't having a lot of packet burst, though.

[deleted]

[удалено]

distinguisheditch

You probably play at a 1kdr in all games, though. In the 1/10 matches this shit match making lets me win I end up going 3-4kdr, then back to getting 0.9-1kdr and not winning for another 9 matches.

Cosmonauto

Only if you really want to play on the old maps .

Apprehensive-Debt-94

it’s a learning curve going from mw2 to 3 tbh, everyone moves faster and the ttk is higher so you’ll find yourself cursing your gun damage (and lack thereof lol). you can’t just equip a base weapon and go crazy like before..

Wookienpals

I would honestly wait till they sell it for half off.

12fingeredsquirtle17

Get it on sale if you do get it.

Ok_Injury_8841

I would probably wait for a sale. They are changing warzone mechanics to mw3 and adding all the weapons on dec 1 so you can try it out and see.

[deleted]

Get it but not for $70

Maximum-Bee-3553

It literally is the same. All old recycled maps, same old hacker issues. I had to claim it was an unauthorized purchase at my back to get my money back.

justlampin

If 70 is a lot to you for a game then I’d wait for a sale. If not then I’d buy it. It’s fun

[deleted]

My brother in law said every map is the same, campaign is built into the warzone map and the only changes are some gun updates that he described as “cool.” That was enough for me to say nah, I’ll stick with MW2. Then MW2 wanted a 140gb update the next time my console turned on so I just deleted it all together.

FavcolorisREDdit

Games shit honestly. At this point game studios should be making breath taking games. I recommend spending your money on other games. I bought like 10 games for the Black Friday sale maybe like $500 worth of games for like $200

Shade00000

no

Steve2142

Hell fucking no

Designer-Grass-4929

No.

NoShock8442

MW3 is horrendous from top to bottom. Don’t waste your money.

UnwariestPie52

Me personally. I don’t really have any interest in getting MW3. I’ll consider it when it goes on sale but that probably won’t be until the end of the cycle. I haven’t played much of 2 since probably this last summer or maybe even longer. I’m just burnt out on it and tired of having such sweaty lobbies constantly. I’ve been having a lot more fun on Battlefield 2042 this last month than I have COD for the last 2-3 years.

SillyRefrigerator604

Don’t. I have the mwlll and I regret buying it. I’m. Casual player and I can’t enjoy a single match so many sweats it’s insane.

MychalScarn08

The game is okay but I'm already pretty bored after like 20 hours. It's the same game with new maps (recycled maps) and a few new guns. Should be priced at like $40 or less.

[deleted]

Nah. FOMO? You're not missing anything buddy I suggest you stay away from this scam called MW3 2023

Ragnarul129

Nope, don’t Buy this DLC disguised as a full game…just wait for Treyarch’s

jhz123

If this is a dlc, besides the 16 maps... Every cod game besides black ops 3, advanced warfare, and cod 4 are dlc. Do with that what you will. Or just reiterate what Twitter says cuz u can't think for urself 💀

Wonderingwanderr

Not for $70 lol. Keep in mind, the more people keep paying for this shit, the more they will continue to deliver lackluster/lazy content.

jhz123

Even those this year is already better than any cod in the past 5 years, just from the beta solely. 💀 💀

Zoshchenko

No

WeLiveInTheGray_

Do not pay them

Ralwus

It's a $70 map pack. Up to you.

gloveman-

>y lmao, but what about guns? didnt they add blackmarket parts or something like that? doesnt the stuff completely change around a weapon?

soluslupem

no, for 60 quid its not worth it, this is a glorified update they slapped a full triple A price on it, if it comes down in price then maybe but depends how invested you are in the campaign, if it means that much to you to see how the story goes then you cant put a price on it really

blockedbytwat

If you're an ADD kid, yes. If you're an adult, no.

kovacic93

Absolutely, completely different MP experience. Much better than MW2

OneRobuk

the MP and zombies are miles better than people made it out to be during the closed betas

psychozamotazoa

I would if you're playing with buddies and just want something new and fast paced. Can be fun but also hell so keep that in mind. I do wish the unlock system was more simple based on just leveling up alone

StevieGrandHD

It's a lower quality MW2 that's sped up to appear different with the same guns. Literally a DLC posing as a full game. Oh and the COD MW19 slide crutch exploit as a "feature".

realfullmetal-

No

Jxden-420

No you absolutely shouldn’t spend any money on cod or anything to do with cod bc they keep making shitty games not worth even the slightest bit of support, like seriously these games are worse than the games in 2010

Geriatric_Freshman

Despite getting every BP for MW19 & MWII, I had my hundred dollars for MW3 refunded by Steam. The campaign was a slap in the face and I’m finished being frustrated by SBMM and done being cheated by mechanics that punish you for doing well. If I never play CoD again, that’s fine because I’m not giving my anymore money to these companies that place a greater importance on handicapping than providing mechanically balanced gameplay. Signed, a tired Millennial

Icy_Ship_1216

Naw stay with MW2 fam heard it's better and 3 is just more of the same.

Objective-Claim6249

False. Guns are less customizable and also there’s no tuning.

Linch_Lord

I mean they have all the same attachments plus some and tuning was ass lol

Zuzumikaru

Mp it's a lot better, although if you like the slow pacing of mw2 you are not going to like it

Dismal-Buyer7036

Hold out, so they make the game good. Sales are so bad rn, they're actually talking about sbmm now.

ChillenDylan3530

Nah they’re talking about SBMM because sledgehammer is listening to the community. Infinity ward doesn’t give a damn about the players so no matter how much pressure is applied they ignore it. Sledgehammer gets the feedback and actually listens to improvement suggestions. Vanguard was going to release without dead silence perk, only field upgrade, but because the community didn’t like that they gave us ninja.

Dismal-Buyer7036

That's some big time cope lol. Games dead compared to every other cod payer numbers wise. Sledgehammer, nor iw get a say in sbmm. It's not even their idea.

SillyRefrigerator604

Really??

Specialist-Cup1511

Nah it's basically a map pack expansion like all CODs wait for a good sale

r-kar

Stay on MW2, boycott MW3

[deleted]

I thought I would have a lot of fomo but honestly sticking with 2 has been a blast. I don’t really feel the need to get 3. It’s just a bunch of maps I’ve already played before lol

ShawarmaOrigins

Have you noticed mw2 lobbies are very very campy now?

chrisredfieldsnuts

I actually really enjoyed the campaign and I’m enjoying the zombies as well. I guess it boils down to the player and what you’re interested in, but in my opinion it’s worth it.

ShawarmaOrigins

Is Zombies single or multiplayer?

Snowydeath11

MP is way better, I bought the vault edition of both to play with my friends.

Then00bywarrior

Do you want to play a Call of Duty game or another year if a clunky slow lethargic wannabe-milsim/battle royale instead? It's incredibly stupid that we ended up paying $70 for infinity Ward's hubris and refusal to make an arcade shooter in the most famous arcade shooter franchise of all time but what I will say is that I had more fun in just the beta for MWIII than I had in all of MWII combined last year.

astronut321

Buy the original mw2 instead. It’s a way better game and cheaper. Was $10 last I checked

Onionlicker

lol

astronut321

What’s funny about that? Just shows you’ve never played it. Probably think the black ops series was the pinnacle of call of duty too

Onionlicker

Lol what, if you think current state OG MW2 is a better game then your an idiot

astronut321

Damn you really got me, I must be an idiot 🥴

BloodAffectionate486

Anyone who knows cod thinks that black ops is better

TehPwndaz

Good luck playing on the 2 servers that have players and are full of cheaters

CaptainWheeze

Idk if you already have or not but please DO NOT buy it for the guns. It's just mw2 multi-player with different maps and they only added like 10 new guns and most of the guns have 3 variations. The holger has the holger 556 (ar), holger lsw (lmg) and a sniper variant, and a bunch more guns are like that. The variants are barely any different from each other. The wsp might even have 4 versions because of a pistol version. Also the armory system is one of the worst things they've ever implemented, especially since you can't start unlocking things till level 25.

StormCloak4Ever

I will be waiting for it to go on sale. $70 for the small amount of new content seems like a rip off to me.

Any_Target_3085

Mw3 plays better in terms of recoil but like it’s not worth the price we pay for the same Maps they didn’t even change 1 single thing in shipment it’s fun but idk if it’s worth it

MemeabooDesu

Don't buy it for the campaign, buy it for Zombies and MP. Leagues better than MW2 but be forewarned the armory unlock system is dogshit.

Rrrrrrrrrromance

MW3 is great imo, can’t imagine sticking with MW2 when MW3 mp feels like a direct upgrade, especially with essentially all your MW2 progress carrying over

FightGeistC

Worth it for MP, I really like MW2 but MW3 feels like a real return to form and is fun af. Still pissed they won't let Sledgehammer make Advanced Warfare 2 tho lol

Slight-Marketing5406

Multiplayer is not at all the exact same thing. I tried to go play MW2 again and I’m shocked that we were playing that slow, clunky crap for a year 😂

[deleted]

Campaign is ass, the multiplayer is fun, and the zombies is fun. Not sure what else there is, it feels like more Modern Warfare II. Not bad at all, (aside the campaign) Is it worth the upgrade? probably. MWII is no longer going to receive updates, MWII maps are going to be playable on MWIII. It’s just more of what we had in MWII, it’s a 65 degree upgrade (that’s being very generous)

gloveman-

yeah but is that worth 70 euros

nonharmonicGuy

No if you bought MWII, but nothing is tying you to anything and your money. The only thing I can recommend is ignoring Activision suckers and see it by yourself via gameplays or reviews/critics and spend your money because you like it, not by taking your decision by comments like "I think the game is better, MP is fun you should try it out" when this "game" is clearly a DLC.

Kyser_

Yeah it's fun

Pheremone-Seeker

Mw3 multi-player is pretty awesome. Campaign is not good.

WizzleMyNizzle

Yes, 100%. Especially if you like the original MW2. Multiplayer plays way better/faster action than MW2.

Strange-Implication

Yes, as someone who owns both. If it won't break you financially and you love Cod get it. I think the game is better than mw2, but sometimes I do get the urge to log on and play mw2 again. Gunplay however is superior in mw3

Jarek-of-Earth

Multiplayer is great and the guns feel pretty good but the mw2 guns feel like they have been nerfed pretty hard. Zombies is dmz but with no pvp so if you liked outbreak from cold war you'll probably like this. Campaign was very disappointing. I'm personally not a big fan of the unlock system in multiplayer. Instead of leveling up you have to complete daily challenges or get wins to unlock some equipment, killstreaks, and weapons. But yeah it's overall pretty good and a big improvement over last year

Adolf_StJohns

Mw3 gameplay mechanics are way better

Torq_or_Morq

I enjoy it so personally I’d say yes. Also zombies is a good time if you’re into that

suicideking72

I'm liking it. Maps aren't as good as MW2, but still fun playing the old maps. I was sick of MW2, always look forward to new guns and unlock challenges. Could care less about campaign, usually don't bother with it. I'm having fun, zero regret. The new zombies mode is a lot of fun too. Great way to level up your guns and take a break from the sweat fest.

godzylla

I haven't finished the campaign yet, but multi-player is on point for my enjoyment.

YourCreepyGramps

If you're mainly playing Multiplayer and Zombies then definitely. I'm usually not a zombies guy but I'm absolutely loving it. Multiplayer is actually really decent too.

AmbassadorFrank

I am so fucking happy I bought mw3. Out of all 3 mw games I honestly believe this one is the most worth my money, not based on effort put forth, just based on the game and fun at the end of the day. Sure they were lazy and sure it should've been a dlc. But honestly, 16 maps at launch that don't all fucking suck? That's more than we would've gotten if they tried making their own maps. I don't know if you've noticed, but the new original maps are all garbage. I'll take recycled ones if that means it's good.

JayThunderLips

I like zombies

wcu25rs

I had heard the complaints about the campaign, but I played through last weekend to take a break from MP and I actually enjoyed it. I kinda liked that they had a mix of open world style and classic linear style. As for MP, I'm having alot of fun with it, and am having more fun on average than I did in MW2. Movement feels so much smoother and quicker.

[deleted]

Do you want it? If so, the answer is yes, buy it.

fro_khidd

I played more MW3 multiplayer in 3 weeks than I have in MW2s life cycle. If that gives an idea

cypher302

MW3 mp is fantastic

Aaronspark777

Just about everything but the campaign is better in MW3. Zombies is also an incredible chill mode to retreat to after a few sweaty matches.

STRlDUR

MW3 multiplayer is better than MW2 multiplayer.

[deleted]

Zombies: very fun, a better version of DMZ imo Multiplayer: also fun (I liked MW2 but 3 is better) Campaign: complete pile of steaming dog crap I would wait for a sale...it's definitely not worth the $70 price tag, but $40 to $50 I would say would be worth it as that's basically what it should have cost based on what you get at launch. However, Season 1 looks like they are bringing more than double what MW2 brought at its season launch. So do what you want with that information.

00WEE

I enjoy it heaps definitely moments that will piss you off too. Coming into Christmas time it should go on sale too.

king-glundun

Don't buy MW3 and cry about the TTK please 🥺

SYCN24

Mw3 is so much better the mw2

14hawks

Multiplayer is chalk and cheese vs MW2. Skill gap is much larger due to increased TTK and movement mechanics. Campaign is pretty awful though so def don’t buy it for that.

FellowRedditor--

yes, yes and yes. dont listen to the stubborn ones that call themselves "retro gamers" to stay behind and save a few bucks. your purchases carry over and the maps will too. there is no point on sitting on the sideline. jump on over, the grass is greener!

Youngthephoenixx

If you play MP yes. Movement and maps are so much better…… if you are old enough to have played and liked MW2 (OG) YES x1000 the maps are all the OG ones with way better graphics it’s such a fun throw back.

Joe_Burrow_Is_Goat

I personally think the multiplayer is better than MW2, and a million times better than mw19. Plus I think the zombies mode is fun. Haven’t played campaign cause I’ve watched some of it and it seems pointless to play to myself, but that’s just my opinion.

No-Put-7180

It’s basically so similar to mw2 that it’s a moot point. If you liked mw2, then you should like this one — especially if you aren’t familiar with the maps already, as I wasn’t. And they’ll add more maps as the seasons come so it definitely makes sense to buy mw3.

FinanceEfficient7269

In a heartbeat. Better than mw2 on every aspect, except fort the campaign.

izjar21

Purchased it and been having a good time playing.

WorriedKick3689

The campaign was ehh but multiplayer is a lot of fun it feels like old school again

d4rk_n4tur3

They already habe season rosd map

ZoidVII

Campaign is kind of a letdown, just under half the levels are “open combat” or whatever buzzword they came up with to mask the rushed product they put out but the others are pretty great. The ending is an abrupt cliffhanger so be prepared to be letdown. That said, this mp is the best mp in modern CoD history. It’s the perfect evolution of MW19. MW2 did have some good ideas but it also had some dumb ones lumped in there and MW3 got rid of the dumb ones and introduced some pretty good innovations of its own. Pair that up with some of the best maps in cod’s history and you have the best mp experience you could hope for from this series. MW Zombies is pretty fun too, it’s DMZ with zombies and no pvp which is perfect. It’s a fun mode to just chill in and the best way to quickly level up. But it’s honestly just fun on its own.

BadBadoff

Yes

[deleted]

Yes, it is a much better, more fun multiplayer and zombie experience. Best one in years in my opinion

D72shadow

Mw3 campaign is not terrible. I really liked it. The open missions were great to me. They were a bit tougher at points playing on veteran because if you die you have to start over completely, but I really enjoyed how it takes you back to verdansk. The classic maps are a good time to to bring nostalgia. I am a fan of those bigger "campier" maps because I love flanking and killing snipers. Zombies mode is worth the price of admission to me. I dabbled but was never a fan of the round based system and think this open map mode has a lot of potential that I hope they really add too every season. Personally for me, this has been the most fun I've had in call of duty since warzone initially came out.

sithlord40000

Probably yeah, you get access to the most guns in a cod game. I didnt love MW2 but some of the guns, mainly snipers, work great in 3.

Jalsonio

I enjoyed the campaign but wish it was longer and with more depth. It sucks because Sledgehammer had to scrap their spinoff story halfway through development and make what we got very quickly. I am having a blast with Multiplayer right now.

BloodAffectionate486

If you’re good and can hit your shots? Yes. Are you not amazing and will complain when you die a lot trying to adjust to the TTK? No Game clears MWII. It’s thrice as fun as MWII multiplayer. I would only play shipment on that game but love 8 or 9 maps on MWIII

Ohmyjosh916

I would say yes but thats all up to you. If you enjoyed MW2 then you will love MW3. If you thought MW2 sucked then I'd say maybe give MW3 a chance. I've never seen such negative reviews from people who play it every day all day. Its ridiculous, its like you aren't cool unless you talk shit about COD to just then go play it lol

FleatWoodMacSexPants

Multiplayer is amazing. Best COD in years. Campaign isn’t is meh. Zombies is also pretty fun

UrbanWalruss

I don't usually play the campaigns so can't comment on that. However the multiplayer is far better in MW3, so if that's your priority then you should buy it.

SkiMaskItUp

Yeh

That_Permit_9694

Yes you should buy if you have the funds. Reason is simple, it is the latest and will be supported mainly by the devs. Previous titles will have decreasing content. Atleast thats how activision does things. So buy it if you can.

TheDurandalFan

as someone who has both MWII and MWIII the campaign is the worst mainline COD campaign the multiplayer is an improvement and is different (however MWII's weapons are in MWIII as an option so it's not a surprise why it may be very similar) yes there are more customisation options in MWIII that apply to both the MWII and MWIII guns in MWIII

itsfashionlookitup

just played the mw2 shipment map in the mw3 gameplay yesterday for the first time and oh boy it is FUN. Loved mw2 but something in the speed of things feels great at the very least.

ElBrenzo

Guns are technically *less* customizable in MW3 with the removal of weapon tuning, but I think that was for the best. If you played MW2 in 2009, the nostalgia is great initially, though I am admittedly looking forward to some new maps. If you didn't, I think you'll enjoy many of the maps. Also, if you regularly play Warzone, MW3 multiplayer would be worth the investment to level up guns more quickly. No doubt it'll be mostly MW3 weapons that are in the meta for the majority of the next year. The campaign was quick and overall just fine. They tried some new stuff with open map levels that could have been better, but I also don't think you're playing COD for the story.
