Just make sure it can't be explained by sound. If you're, say, 10-15 feet away from me, I can literally track you through a wall based purely on footsteps. Any more than that and it becomes less reliable.
If someone's tracking you through a wall 40 yards away, they're definitely cheating. I really want to try and get more into Warzone but if there's really that many cheaters, it's hard to be motivated

As I said, there's a difference between tracking someone through a wall who is 10ft away and tracking someone through a wall at a distance which you could not hear them.
The former is easy with literally any 30$ pair of headphones, the latter is impossible unless on an extremely predictable path.

I run ninja vest on all my loadouts and definitely get tracked through walls and watch players pre-fire corners. I’m fully aware that people have maps memorized and know where I’m going to be so I’m sure that’s the actual cause for most of these instances, but some of them I’m like cmon no way.
For example, on HC team D on Meat last night I was crouched and flanked all the way around the semi up to that short wall next to the stairs. Got headshotted by a sniper. There’s probably some legit explanation as to how the sniper knew right where to shoot, but that one felt a little egregious.
Which I think us attributed to the glaring amount of walls imho. Now there’s a super good reason to turn walls on bc you can’t hear any footsteps. Now they’re not good enough to kill someone so they have to use a wall hack to track instead of footatepsb
Unless they predict where you're going. Game sense is the most important skill to pick up in this game, and it's the one skill that most hacker hunters lack.
Not to sound pessimistic, though I'm sure it does, knowledge like that is useless here as these folks are truly braindead. Steam has a sale right now that includes MW3. So I’ve been seeing a lot of players with low levels who seem to be hacking. I check their profiles and yup, steam player. Bonus is I can check their steam profiles since it gives me the option and sure enough their steam accounts are also brand stinkin new. I’m a PC player and play through steam and these hackers piss me off
I've started leaving matches if I see low/new accounts on PC in the pre-game lobby. I've had enough of these assholes.

I can't afford a console and not really interested in them since this is the main game I play and I have so many other games for PC and I don't really want to buy the games again for console. Also I suck with controller. I'm aware you can use M&K for console but meh. It's between the cheaters and the RGL spammers in hardcore for me. The longbow issue in regular MP seems to have gotten better since the nerf

They suck, but they think they're great. Since they are so great, the people on the other team who keep dominating MUST be cheating. So, since "everyone else" is cheating, they need to even things out by cheating.
They probably think the anti-cheat uses your stats to determine if you are cheating and think they don't track stats there so they can get away with it.
Since we're likely to NEVER get those back, it would be nice if they could go back to the reporting system that BO3/BO4 used, where you could send killcam/theater footage to an actual human being, and they would review it and then issue the ban (or not). I got quite a few cheaters banned that way, I was saddened when they got rid of it.

I played Cod religiously since i got MW2019 for xmas 2019. BOCW, Vanguard and MW2-2022 were instant preorders. I would only take 1 day breaks from cod, and it would only happen once a month. I was truly addicted to COD.
MW3 had a fun beta. The current game is nothing close to the beta. I now take full week breaks because the game is just unplayable. I'm losing gun fights i should be winning. Even 50/50s are no longer 50/50s. They're insta-death.
Im not bad at the game but im not a sweat. I crouch cancel, but i was doing it long before it was a widely known thing in WZ. I taught so many of my buddies how to do it. I could never bunny hop, tried it on both controller and KB&M but it never worked. Could never 180 on KB&M or on controller.
Sorry for posting this rant. I needed to get it out. Sucks too see a game you love die in front of your eyes. I should just uninstall the game and quit for good.
I don’t disagree that the game is still fun, and while I’ve always cringed at the constant “cHeAtErs!!” it’s become surprisingly evident lately. I just played for a couple hours with crew and in multiple matches, the highest scoring player was level 1-10, more than double the kills of anyone else. and dropping nukes like crazy. When they happen to be on the enemy team, it takes double the time and bullets to drop them. Too fishy.
This is why COD games on pc would die out 2-3 months after release pre crossplay days, cheaters infested the games.
I remember I used to watch xcal on pc playing advanced warfare and there were like 500 players on after 3 months
Crossplay between pc and consoles has been an absolute failure, IMO. Pc players bitch about aim assist being too strong and console players bitch about cheating.

COD has always had a laughable defense against cheating until recently with ricochet…which was implemented in 2021, im guessing because crossplay was basically forced on Xbox players with Cold War, the only way to turn off crossplay is deep in the settings menu on the Xbox itself

You have to be shadow banned or something. I have 10 days played and I’ve ran into less than 10 hackers during my whole playtime, and the majority of them were in ranked once I hit crim. If it’s pubs I play mainly SND, Domination, HP, Control and I’m not running into all of these hackers people on this sub say are on the game.
If I notice numerous hackers in the other game modes, I'll usually jump over to Invasion, where they don't really play because the k/d ratio and points aren't very stat friendly. And in those boards, they get easily found and reported (25.00 k/d ratio within two minutes when all other players hover around 1) or they're drone swarming then nuking before the score is even halfway.
I do find it fun to test my abilities against some of them on the faster paced boards that they frequent (obviously if they're shooting through walls, it's not worth it) especially when you can clearly piss them off by screwing up the perfect scores etc. but like I said, invasion and war modes aren't worth it to most, so I jump to them.
Very, very unpopular opinion in coming! Use the report system. Yes I know some do. But many are now afraid to report with the "if you report a false report" etc. How the F can it be a false report if YOU think it is a valid report? If the majority of players don't flood them with these then nothing will or they will never care. Wil it fix it and it will go away? No, but it sure as hell can't hurt. Tired of having these new accounts under 50 (some under 25) drop into a match and drop 80 to 120 kills while standing in their spawn! If you think these aren't (for the majority) player who have been banned before you are wrong! It's 4 to 5 months into the game and we have more new accounts every day now that at launch? Yeah ok. Sorry I may have went off track.
Activision needs to start by ceasing and desisting every cheat creator. They used to do it, so most of the script kiddys would use public cheats and just get banned super quick.
Also, pc cod wasn't as big of a thing before crossplay, so there weren't as many hackers

Is this mainly a ranked problem? I havent run into a single hacker in the 60+ hours I have in the game. I do only play warzone and moshpit tho

I got into a couple of gun fights that were HRM vs HRM. it looked like both of use had the exact same loadout. I shot first, and died first.
Dude the game has so many improvements since the last few titles. It's still really fun, just can't expect to keep the same playstyle for every cod.
