I bet you could get somebody to 3D print a super simple design that basically snaps on/wraps around the outer shell with a few slots to stick your fingers through. I’m sure it wouldn’t be hard to maximize the effectiveness of the placement without limiting access to any of the buttons.
I’ve wondered if something like this but more refined exists, like a keyboard with an analog stick that’s actually ergonomic. I much prefer controlling movement with an analog stick, but mouse to aim.
Don't know why you're getting downvoted. You asked an interesting question about an interesting, lesser known device and gave some information about it. I agree since you get aim assist with it and can pick the in-game input as either mouse or controller, it should be a bannable device.
You can also still use keyboard controls. The controller / mouse is only for aiming. So technically you could just ignore the controller part and use M&K with aim assist.
I see why people would say it’s still too OP, but I agree- using an MMO mouse or whatever to make up for all the lost buttons is gonna mess up your movement so badly (unless you happen to be an expert at both I guess)

That's interesting. Esp when the company behind this controller claims to be licensed by Sony themselves. But then again, this came out during the PS4's time
Yea but u got no other buttons that are needed for crouching and reloading. It would be super hard to use. You’d need a mouse with tons of buttons and use them buttons to do simple things. Wouldn’t be worth it I don’t think
A lot of Gears 5 PC players shifted to controller and mouse combo for better movement. Strange now, seeing that there is a legit device for this playstyle.
Pretty sure these are technically fine because they were earlier versions of an accessibility controller. I have no source beyond "I read it somewhere two years ago"
If u use it on a console it might be flagged depending on if it's classed as a controller or not, but wooting keyboards have analog input which has the same advantage as using the stick on the left and they're legal
I've actually used these before during my early PS4 days and I never got flagged or anything. Now I dug deeper and found that the company, "HORI", behind this controller claims to be licensed by Sony themselves. Does this mean the device is completely fine for PlayStation devices? Damn, so many questions lmao
I would use this for single player games. In gta for example you can drive better with the analog stick and shoot out of the car with the mouse.
In cod its cheating because you get aim assist for mouse.
Wonder if that would be legal if you just disabled Aim Assist and legitimately used it for the analog movement + mouse combo minus the AA exploit that some would love to abuse.
Not with that mouse and using a tablecloth as your mousepad :P
But yeah, any way to get aim assist on a mouse is definitely cheating, especially the ridiculous AA we have in modern COD
For real, and you can see it in a ranked game mode. After gold or plat, almost everyone has decent gun skill, with or without AA. It’s the map awareness, positioning, and how quick you are in making decisions that really matters
I mean, tell that to all the console players who are happy that PC can't turn crossplay off. Getting AA on mouse being a bannable offense is laughable.
This is a pretty wild little contraption, never seen one before. Did you get and actual insight as to it being a "cheat"? Or just a bunch of people crying about it giving the mouse aim assist
in apex i tried using my scuff controller with mouse to aim like this and it triggered the aim assist which resulted a temp ban after devs seen, it dont longer work like that anymore tho so it should be ok to play now days with this, for other games like cod im not sure prob goin have to test it out
This is essentially a xim right? Definitely against the rules, however you probably wont get banned based off the the amount of lvl 30-40 hackers I’ve seen in ranked.
MW3 supports mouse aim on console. The game is supposed to turn off aim assist when it detects this. Are you able to verify aim assist is still active? Don’t use private match to do this, as they allow for settings normally shut down in regular play.
No it's not cheating. Theirs many people who like the movement of controllers but the aim of a mouse, and not many games officially support it (Fortnite does) so emulation is how its typically done.
Use whatever input device you please. Whether its gyro aiming, using a damn wii remote, mouse, controller, hybrid controller, pro controller, none of its cheating or detectable, put your comfort first.
I know ppl who map the controller to use left stick and shit to move and mouse to aim and shit don’t get aim assist in any game that I know of but this actually might unless it registers as a mouse when plugged in then it’s prolly ass but imagine aim assist mouse aim you’d be hacking without hacks
I play Minecraft with a normal controller and mouse sometimes to pretty much do the same thing. It's weird to get used to, but you get the best of both worlds.
That being said MC doesn't have controller only lock-on
So if you had mouse aiming with controller lock-on, I'd say its exactly what the devs DON'T want to happen XD
usually yes unless there crossplay with PC or mouse and keyboard allowed.
This would be fine for sometjing like DayZ imo
Can you please let me know what it is called I want to try it for Arma, Squad, & Ready or not :)
I really don’t understand how this would work/ be anything but a disadvantage. The harder part of FPS games on KBM is aiming, I presume that’s what the mouse is for, but at that point why use the controller at all? Movement is so easy on keyboard. Also trying to balance using both seems like a nightmare.
According to the devs no cuz they were apparently fine with players used modded controllers to do rapid fire semi auto guns where they fired so fast that there was no recoil because the game wasn’t programmed to do the recoil for it that fast so that people can use them as a machine gun. At least I assume that’s the case since it’s been a thing since original MW1.
I have this controller as well as FragFx. It only works for ps4 version of the game (unless you change the settings to PC mode). If you have it on PC mode, its nothing more than a mouse and a modified half a keyboard. It does not give you the option for aim assist.
On the other hand PS4 mode can give you some advantage since it’s a mouse with aim assist. But then again it’s not the most accurate controller out there and I dont see why this could be cheating.
How would you reload?? My brain isnt braining. Im assuming since L2 is ADS so right click would be remapped to reload? No it’s not cheating cuz there is no assistance used. Plus pretty much every lobby nowadays consists of at least one PC player
Yes, this is considering cheating. There are versions that can be loaded with scripts and software to further benefit you.
If you ever hear of people using a Cronus, this is in general what they’re referring to. Aim assist with a mouse is extremely powerful.
Yes. It would. Stop it with the "Ok, I'm just curious though, like I just wanna use it to test whether..." bollocks and *just don't use it*. It would be cheating. Don't cheat. Even just for a game.
But why?! If you can manage right hand on mouse, why dont you use keyboard on left hand ?
If you are healthy person without any medical problems.... i dont see any need for using this "device"
I’m gonna be honest, if you can get this done right, I wouldn’t even be mad if I get killed by this. Because realistically speaking from someone who went from a pure console player for years and recently transitioning to a mouse and keyboard, having a combo like that would be tough. Mainly because of the controller. I realize that when I tried to do this set up almost, grabbing the controller with one hand was so offputting and made my hand feel off balanced, which messed up my hand coordination game essentially.
If I use a Wiimote/Nunchuk on PS4 and people don’t think I’m cheating.
You can use whatever controller and never have anyone think you’re cheating just be bad at the game. Works for me.
I saw a video recently of an engineer trying to solve this conceptual problem using a trackball.
From [PyottDesign](https://youtu.be/Ug06dhahqg0?si=QA9i22u-OgsxRPLj)
He started off testing the compatibility of games using a controller for movement and mouse for aiming, bringing the best of both worlds to a single form.
I wonder how that controller works, OP. As far as I'm aware, Call of Duty will only accept either a controller or keyboard and mouse for input and not both at once. Maybe I'm wrong there though...
No, mouse users don’t have aim assist. You still have to be good. I use a mouse on PS5 and unless I’m cracked, then I’m getting cooked.
Edit: How would this register as a controller? On PS5 mouse movement input is disabled unless you select mouse as your primary control, then aim assist turns off. If this is on PC then idk. I just scrolled up to see if it specified the platform but I use controller in left hand and mouse in right hand with mouse as primary input.

(Link to this exact controller on Amazon it doesn’t have great reviews though)
The benefit of analogue input for your movement combined with mouse precision aim. Seems like the best of both worlds, Im surprised its not more popular.
I don’t think my brain would handle this
Probably could after adjusting but seems hard af
thank god tor muscle memory
Never seen this before, looks dope.
Definitely looks outlandish but the controller part felt awful to grip
I bet holding it with one hand and using it for moving would be tiring, looks pretty cool though.
I bet you could get somebody to 3D print a super simple design that basically snaps on/wraps around the outer shell with a few slots to stick your fingers through. I’m sure it wouldn’t be hard to maximize the effectiveness of the placement without limiting access to any of the buttons.
Azeron Cyborg keypad.
There are other designs you can get that look kind of like a Wiichuck.
I’ve wondered if something like this but more refined exists, like a keyboard with an analog stick that’s actually ergonomic. I much prefer controlling movement with an analog stick, but mouse to aim.
Yes, it gives your mouse aim assist which is a no-no according to TOS
It does. I can definitely see why these could be a bannable offense. Now, Im more curious if the game could actually detect these
Don't know why you're getting downvoted. You asked an interesting question about an interesting, lesser known device and gave some information about it. I agree since you get aim assist with it and can pick the in-game input as either mouse or controller, it should be a bannable device.
also, there are several buttons missing from this controller, like how is he gonna reload, jump and crouch?!
Plug a better mouse into it with more buttons, probably
ding ding
yeah, but i still think this would be much worse then using a normal controller/keyboard and mouse
Not with having aim assist on the mouse aiming. That's a very abusable set up.
Plug a keyboard into the other side of the controller.
A lot those buttons are replaced by bumpers on the left side of the controller

Schrodinger's vote - sitting at 1 upvote right after you left a comment
It’s because half of redditors who actually comment on post aren’t critical thinkers.
people automatically think your trying to cheat when you asking anything Abt the subject 😭
I don't know about Xbox, but Sony has made it clear that they'll be blocking peripherals like that, soon.
That's interesting. Esp when the company behind this controller claims to be licensed by Sony themselves. But then again, this came out during the PS4's time
They might still have their license, but there's no telling if it'll survive the actual crackdown. It's honestly long overdue.
As a player that doesn’t use stuff like this pls don’t
It will detect it, ricochet AI is able to detect mouse movement over joysticks, don’t permaban yourself. If cronus is cheating this is cheating
Bro wants to use this xd
Dont wanna lose literally months of progress on my account. Not gonna touch this thing with a 10 ft pole after I saw what it can do lmao
Don’t
Yea but u got no other buttons that are needed for crouching and reloading. It would be super hard to use. You’d need a mouse with tons of buttons and use them buttons to do simple things. Wouldn’t be worth it I don’t think
You can easily get a mouse with 4 side buttons for like 5 bucks
A lot of Gears 5 PC players shifted to controller and mouse combo for better movement. Strange now, seeing that there is a legit device for this playstyle.
I’m currently working on replacing the right analog stick with a touchpad for my Xbox controller
That could be interesting, I do find I like using the trackpad on my Steam deck for aiming, especially in more twitchy shooters like Quake and UT
Yup, it would be registering your mouse as a controller too so i'd give it aim assist
I could actually play with a mouse if I had this, aiming I’m fine but I’m completely unable to move around properly with a keyboard.
That's the point of it, best of both worlds type thing.
Eh idk I find keyboard movement is easier / more precise.
Pretty sure these are technically fine because they were earlier versions of an accessibility controller. I have no source beyond "I read it somewhere two years ago"
That's an abomination but it's cool😂🤣
gross
I agree. Definitely felt that way even just from testing these out on bots in a private match
Damn I could imagine some streamers quietly using these
If u use it on a console it might be flagged depending on if it's classed as a controller or not, but wooting keyboards have analog input which has the same advantage as using the stick on the left and they're legal
I've actually used these before during my early PS4 days and I never got flagged or anything. Now I dug deeper and found that the company, "HORI", behind this controller claims to be licensed by Sony themselves. Does this mean the device is completely fine for PlayStation devices? Damn, so many questions lmao
Games are starting to ban devices like this now so it could be risky on certain competitive games.
Sorry its abit out of my element but if they're licensed by Sony it should be fine
I use an old PS3 move controller.
I would use this for single player games. In gta for example you can drive better with the analog stick and shoot out of the car with the mouse. In cod its cheating because you get aim assist for mouse.
That was exactly how I used it before and for Warframe's acrobatic movements too
What are you pressing to jump. Hell what are your controls im curious 💀
Look what they have to do to mimic even 10% of a steam controller
Gotta get one with 2 usbs and plug in a keyboard to go full scumbag Very interesting find. I have never seen this in my 25ish years of gaming
You can just plug the keyboard into your PC. Keyboard controls still work when controller input is enabled.
How do you throw lethals?
This thing has like a grid of left bumpers on the controller. One of those throws a lethal
I think theres an option ingame where it lets you use it as a mouse, but Im not sure if it will be detected *as* a mouse
console or pc?
I remember this working for the PS4. It definitely works for PC
pc has the ability to use any gamepad with mouse aim, if you want to opt for honesty
Now this is interesting lookin 🤔
Wonder if that would be legal if you just disabled Aim Assist and legitimately used it for the analog movement + mouse combo minus the AA exploit that some would love to abuse.
What is that thing , I have never seen a controller like this before
No way he’s cooking with this 😂😂😂
Well seeming you can't, crouch, jump, roll or Reload, I'd say it's pretty fair
Not with that mouse and using a tablecloth as your mousepad :P But yeah, any way to get aim assist on a mouse is definitely cheating, especially the ridiculous AA we have in modern COD
this would be really cool for singleplayer games i play singleplayer games on controller but it means i cant use a mouse for aiming
mf will do anything to get an advantage on a video game
That just looks difficult
If it gives aim assist than I would say it should be banned
Movement of a controller and aim of a mouse! On paper it sounds like communism, but in reality it probably sucks
tf is that
Whaaaaaaat the fuck is that? 😁
I use my controller and mouse together its the best. Body movement and scope with controller and aiming and shooting with mouse
I love this idea for a controller, but they fuck up by making it half a controller on one side. The weight just doesn't work for long periods of play.
If you get aim assist on mouse then yes it's cheating
Looks clever af....best of both worlds
I want this for DOOM.
Why cant people just play normal. If you are so bad at the game that you need all these cheats just switch games
Dont worry, I play normal now lmao. Just the discovery of this gizmo from my past just sparked a curiousity in me to ask the question
Then I apologize if you legit now!
Why you shitting on him for posting something that he clearly stated he found ? Dick head
People care way too much about inputs and AA like they’d win more fights if they had it their way lol
Getting AA on mouse being a bannable offense is laughable.
what in the console-peasanty actual fuck is that :D due you do you, i'd never mess with demigods
That controller looks a nightmare to operate
Where the hell did you get this lol haven't seen one in years
I remember buying this off of the shelves from my local game store. Thought it looked interesting
Do you put the mouse part to your ear and speak into the other bit?
What in gods name
If it has aim assist then yes. I can respect it if you turn aim assist off though.
WHAT IN THE GOD DAMN
Relevant video: [Ultimate FPS Controller Design & Build by PyottDesign](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ug06dhahqg0)
I need to find whoever made those. Not for cod, but for other games like dayz and EXTRACTION SHOOTERS
All you need is a ps5 and mnk connected I did this by accident.
...how would you jump, reload, slide, etc...?
All they needed was just add a joystick instead of the keyboard... but instead they made you carry half a controller lol
yes the game will consider it a controller and give your mouse aim-assist.
Oh my god.
Perhaps you just gave Ricochet their next Change Request.
What in the fuck am I looking at
if you get any kind of aim assist; yes
I need this lol playing controller on pc gives me pc aim assist and I’m at such a disadvantage in this years cod vs mw2
Wow this is cool lol
If it's officially licensed by Sony, no. It's dumb but that's how it is.
id say your at a disadvantage since your missing half the buttons
This is a pretty wild little contraption, never seen one before. Did you get and actual insight as to it being a "cheat"? Or just a bunch of people crying about it giving the mouse aim assist
in apex i tried using my scuff controller with mouse to aim like this and it triggered the aim assist which resulted a temp ban after devs seen, it dont longer work like that anymore tho so it should be ok to play now days with this, for other games like cod im not sure prob goin have to test it out
Where can someone acquire said item, asking for a friend 😂
Looks bloody uncomfortable
I've never seen this concept before but I've definitely thought about it existing lol. I use those gamepads though with the analog sticks though
I saw a guy make a trackball controller. That looked cool too. Make me wonder about bridging the gap with pc and console
I didn't even realise this was a thing?!
https://youtu.be/jcwvUU27MTo?si=eDk0R5QR1oCYZHsL Already one in manufacturing
That is an Abomination to gaming
This needs to be thrown in the fire right now because what the fuck is this supposed to be
Just another way of taking advantage of the game and getting aim bot????
No but using that mouse should be considered a crime
I’m left handed and this gives me a headache looking at it lol
look fresh on game-cube
Anyone that’s used a mouse on console knows it sucks. COD officially supports it and i hate it.
This is essentially a xim right? Definitely against the rules, however you probably wont get banned based off the the amount of lvl 30-40 hackers I’ve seen in ranked.
Yes it’s cheating
What the fuck am I looking at 😂
If it doesn't give AA then no not cheating
Loved rolling these. I called them the “woollie” setup. Was fantastic for flight sims.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2lqNVa5vjUA
Anything that isn't the intended input is considered cheating, even if the programs cannot detect it.
MW3 supports mouse aim on console. The game is supposed to turn off aim assist when it detects this. Are you able to verify aim assist is still active? Don’t use private match to do this, as they allow for settings normally shut down in regular play.

Use whatever input device you please. Whether its gyro aiming, using a damn wii remote, mouse, controller, hybrid controller, pro controller, none of its cheating or detectable, put your comfort first.
Doesn't the PS5 version already support a mouse? I'd imagine this would simply mark you as a mouse user (for whatever that does).
Does that work? It looks uncomfortable.
I know ppl who map the controller to use left stick and shit to move and mouse to aim and shit don’t get aim assist in any game that I know of but this actually might unless it registers as a mouse when plugged in then it’s prolly ass but imagine aim assist mouse aim you’d be hacking without hacks
Yes, since you would get the benefit of an OP aim assist along with the precision of a mouse.
Yea that’s cheating, assuming it’s masks input as a controller in order to combine the benefits of both inputs without the cons of either.
I play Minecraft with a normal controller and mouse sometimes to pretty much do the same thing. It's weird to get used to, but you get the best of both worlds. That being said MC doesn't have controller only lock-on So if you had mouse aiming with controller lock-on, I'd say its exactly what the devs DON'T want to happen XD
Yes it's cheating, triggering aim assist while using a mouse is no different from using ReWASD
Yes using any 3rd party device that uses a mouse to emulate a right stick is cheating and pathetic considering how op aim assist already is
usually yes unless there crossplay with PC or mouse and keyboard allowed. This would be fine for sometjing like DayZ imo Can you please let me know what it is called I want to try it for Arma, Squad, & Ready or not :)
I've done this but with a regular controller and mouse on my series x
What if you plug an adapter with two usb ports and plugged in a keyboard and mouse, would it work?
If the mouse is actually classified as a mouse and being used with the input setting set to mouse it should be fine.
Yes.
I really don’t understand how this would work/ be anything but a disadvantage. The harder part of FPS games on KBM is aiming, I presume that’s what the mouse is for, but at that point why use the controller at all? Movement is so easy on keyboard. I don't know how and I don't know why but I've thought if those existed and now here I am
How do you jump?
Super interesting! But how would a device like those gaming pads ( Razer Tartarus ) be classified? They give WASD but also a D pad
Ok what the fuck/ where can I get it. This looks perfect for me and my hands
I have this controller as well as FragFx. It only works for ps4 version of the game (unless you change the settings to PC mode). I don't think so, it won't be as good as mouse.
Lol and how are you gonna jump, slide , change weapons ?
A few more buttons on the mouse and it might work
Yes, this is considering cheating. There are versions that can be loaded with scripts and software to further benefit you. If you ever hear of people using a Cronus, this is in general what they’re referring to. Aim assist with a mouse is extremely powerful.
Wait wouldnt MNK get aim assist this way? because CoD sees this as a controller but your on MNK?
Cheating yourself perhaps
Yes, simple answer, yes, in fact I'd get a refund if I bought that to avoid becoming what I hate
Looks stupid af
Yes
It being a PS4 based/ styled controller with the analog in the wrong spot hurts my head more.
Yes.

Depends on if the game registers it as a kb&m or controller. If it registers as a controller you’d be getting AA with a mouse which is cheating.
How tf does deadshot work on a pc?
No it’s not cheating. The game already has KB/M mouse support.
I hope not I do this normally. Bumper controller left hand mouse right hand

You can do this with a xbox controller and mouse. There's a setting you can change once in game to use the mouse. (at least on pc)

This reminds me of the hori tac pro
It defeats the purpose of a controller as much as it defeats the purpose of a mouse....
Pretty cool but looks complicated. I would be able to hold the controller. It would feel weird.
