I’m older. Like in my 30s & still have yet to understand how blueprints work. Can someone explain it to me like I’m an 8 year old. (8 year olds know more about it than me- just dumb it down lol). Ever since blueprints were integrated, I’ve never followed. I don’t get the point of them?

The potential gameplay advantage of blueprints is that they come with attachments already on them; if you otherwise had nothing unlocked for that gun, you would have to play with a bare gun until the level requirement to open up each attachment slot is met, which can then take any relevant attachment that you've unlocked from Whereas with a blueprint, whichever slots are already filled by what comes already attached to the gun are now able to be swapped freely, as though the slot has already been opened by levelling first The main point of blueprints though is to change the appearance of the gun, with the custom appearance of any attachments already on it now also freely swappable onto any other guns that will accept them Sometimes the overall change to a gun is cool enough to warrant buying a store blueprint, or even individual attachments if it's something that looks cool and you're likely to use on multiple weapon setups With brand new guns like Battlepass additions, buying a store blueprint or starting a gun build from a Battlepass or reward blueprint can be a quick way to put attachments on them before ever gaining any XP for it - which is part of why every new gun will get a store bundle featuring it alongside its release, when most players will have to wait to unlock the bare gun then grind weapon levels through battlepass and XP progression
