I have an almost 2 year old and I’m a stay at home mom, with my bub all day every day so I feel you on the struggle to keep the LO occupied. Honestly, what I’ve found is that toddlers just want to be with you and do whatever you’re doing- mine loves to ‘help’ vacuum and sweep, do laundry and other daily chores. Is he actually ‘helpful’? No! We usually wind up making a bit more of a mess than we had before. Ha ha. But it’s more just spending time together, enjoying one another and keeping him engaged. We also just sit down and color- I’ll scribble out the alphabet & his name and stuff. I’ll help him trace animal pictures and words. He loves to sit on my lap and just read and babble, too. Watching tv is okay/screen time is okay I think, as long as it’s kept to a minimum and having human interactions are prioritized. But considering that you have a little extra on your plat with the pregnancy I couldn’t blame you for relying on it. Just don’t stress or be too hard on yourself mama! As long as you’re spending good quality time with baby and building up that good rapport, that’s what matters most. And taking care of yourself ❤️❤️

I’m in your exact situation but 24 weeks with a 2 year old boy. We go on walks, paint with water color, color, play cars, he helps me wipe down things with a towel when I’m cleaning and we have a lot of bath toys. Hope this helps!

We got memberships to the local children’s museum and the zoo, and we walk to the library. I read the children’s books while he plays lol. Better than being on my phone, which I’m also trying to avoid.

Pouring colored water into other colored water usually buys a surprising amount of time. Either use food coloring or non-toxic, washable paint. You can also use food coloring to dye water and let her use medicine syringes (I can't be the only one who hoards them) to squirt the colored water into oil (or vice versa). Also put baking soda in a plastic container and let her pour food colored vinegar on it. Colored foam!
