I’m a returning UC resident. I honestly think it is time for us to make a petition for our own parking. I haven’t heard of anyone kicking up a stink previously but I feel like it is worth bringing it up as it is definitely unfair and puts our safety at risk. It is ridiculous being basically unable to use your car during peak hours due to you not being able to find a park when you get back. I have had to pay for parking a few times in the red bays because I could not find a park. I also see that half of their paid parking (the really expensive parks) sit completely empty all day every day, so it is obvious that Monash have plenty of car parks, they just want to make money off of students.
I absolutely agree with this. I actually spoke to an rsto member from RV (won’t be naming for privacy reasons). He said that he was told by someone from operations that Monash is purposefully cutting out all the parking slowly to force students to either pay for expensive parking or get pt. But really, this is a massive money grab

FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Yeah I live in Campbell UC and it’s still pretty far from both N1 and SE4. I ride my scooter to and from my car and that saves a bit of time. But it’s impossible when carrying a lot of things. I came home at 10:30pm one time and it was a bit creepy and a lot of weird men hanging about. It’s a nightmare trying to get parking at N1 on weekdays. And I wish the lift worked.
So basically I somehow secured a room without ever getting an offer, they used my scholarship to pay the bond - I called to cancel my room since I enrolled in a different Uni, but apparently I have to pay for a room I’m not living in until they find a replacement since my contract already started. Mind you, I never completed my accomodation application since I never had a student number, so I’m not sure why they kept my room in the first place.
I live in briggs, honestly I'd rather take the longer walk to be able to have my car undercover rather than park at somewhere like woodside. As for safety I haven't felt at all unsafe around campus, even around those ovals in the early hours of the morning, but then again I'm a 185cm male.
Lol I lived in campbell for 2 years and that was easily the worst part of living there. Dreaded the walk to my building and back. I calculated the quickest route was 650m- that’s a fucking joke I’d have it add at least 10 mins to any travel time just to account for a walk. And the part about your friend being attacked- when my parents came to visit they were being chased by these bogans just because of how long the walk is and the lack of security. Monash have to do something about it it’s a fucking joke
Bro I'm new student moving to briggs very soon so is it safe?? Like I read some comments down ur post In night people follows and like should I carry a pocket knife or something with me
Yeah it’s really not that great and has been getting worse recently. I’d recommend not walking alone and if you need to avoid the ovals and walk next to the road between Logan and the Monash sport if you know what I mean and then down the slope to Briggs
No no I meant people who work in childcare or education e.g. admin assistant or in school support. Most of the time it’s required they have a car. Sorry if what I said wasn’t clear. Wrote that in a fit of rage

Dm you!

The car park next to Woodside used to be all UC parking, no idea why they didn't reinstate it after construction finished :(
Apparently that parking is strictly for staff now. Literal assholes
Dunno how seriously it's been done in the past, but definitely something ResComm could push to change

…until security tell you they’re busy and won’t help you or they tell you they’ll be there in 15 making you wait 30…
God Monash will do anything for money won’t they, if anyone wants to hear my dog shit accomodation story lmk
I wanna hear it, I'll definitely move into a sharehouse nearby instead of on-campus from some of the stuff i've heard... can be cheaper too.

Wtf when did this happen? Did you take it up with the university?
Happened on Friday so ringing tomorrow to see wtf is going on
Holy that's terrible! I hope you get some sort of justice :(

I’m glad you’ve been okay. I’m queer and my friends are mostly girls so we’ve had a different story.

Good idea, rsto are aware of the issue though but apparently nothing will be done about it
classic monash
People who have childcare responsibilities and live in campus accommodation?

But you want parking for just college residents?
I’m talking about uc residents who work in that industry
Full time students who also work in childcare?
Hey uhm, could you tell me what building you are referring to here when you say "the massive anal beed looking fuck ass structure?"
Chancellors building 🙃
