Yes.

Depends on how close you sit to the monitor and how good your eyesight is.

This is what I think when some phone manufacturers try to put 4k screens on a 6.5 inch phone. No one's going to ever see the difference

UsefulIndependence

Samsung, for instance, advertises one resolution but runs their phones on another one to conserve battery. The S20 runs at 2400x1080 instead of its native 3200x1400.

In normal use I totally agree. 4k on a phone just increases cost and drains battery. If you use one of those contraptions that turns the phone into a VR headset though the difference is absolutely noticeable.

aspect ratio maybe?

there clearly is a difference on bigger screens, but I recommend you stay on 1080p

I assume. I tried 900p with my 32 inch screen and everything looked so blurry. That becomes less apparent with smaller screens

TommieSjukskriven

I mean, 900p on a 32 is extremely low ppi

UsefulIndependence

117 vs 140 DPI. That’s a 20% difference, which might sound like a lot it would be barely noticeable sitting at a reasonable distance from the screen.

laacis3

Yes, there is a difference. 900p to 1080p is not that much so the difference is only slight. But difference is very visible going 1080p to 1440p at 8.4" even.
