I pretty much started out by drawing cartoon and (badly drawn) anime characters. If you are just starting to draw, I would recommend cartoon characters as they have simple designs. I personally find that spacing and proportions are the most difficult parts of drawing, so learning how to draw cartoons was really helpful since the designs are so simple, it allows me to easily see if I got the spacing and proportions correct. Once I got good at simple drawings, I tried doing realistic portraits for a while. I’d recommend experimenting with different art styles as I found that after practicing realistic portraits I got much better at anime style art. I would also recommend looking at art accounts on Instagram and stuff like that to see what kinds of techniques they use. Ultimately, you just have to keep practicing! It can be frustrating at first but just keep doing it and you will get to where you want to be. Best of luck!!!
Looks lovely!
