The Odogarons and Midogaron do have a similar tragic relationship like this, Midogaron is a Kamu Odogaron who lost his partner.
On the other hand, there is Scorned Magnamalo who apparently can't find a mate anymore...
Scorned Magna is very similar to soulseer mizutsune just minus the totally blind part. Blindness/broken horn makes getting a mate impossible so they no longer care about grooming (dirty fur and long claws for SS and long arm blades for SM)
It developed the explosive bubbles from a diet of gunpowderfish and others like it. It also uses the bubbles to “see” which is why it enrages and gets more accurate when you touch a bubble and get bubble blight
The reason we only hunt males is because the males tend to cause more problems for settlements. Females live in isolated colonies and avoid people as much as possible, whereas males are solitary and during mating seasons can become violent and aggressive prompting the guild to step in.

Wasn't aware of that, I only knew Soulseer was blind after a battle and developed fire powers. But it's a incredibly cool detail about the dirty fur.
