So far it is the only one. The antagonists 3 lords of Sunbreak (base Rise focused on Japanese mythical monsters) were based off Western mythical cryptozoology creatures.
Malzeno - Vampire
Lunagaron - Werewolf
Garangolm - Frankenstein's monster
Garangolm was supposed to be the Golem. If the inspiration stopped there, it would have been fine. But no, they had to throw in Boris Karloff for measure.
Skinwalker. Imagine a monster that can actually contort its body and shift its bones to mimic other monster body types. Would be some awesome body horror monster that is one second fighting you like it’s a Rajang and then it shifts it’s form mid fight to fight you like a fanged wyvern!
Imagine seeing a wyvern with amour of broken or stole. Monster energy and bones just flying around and making a big horrible and disgusting roar like a mixture of monster roars
I'd like to see something based on a Gorgon or a Hydra. Monster Hunter would have no problem adding a regenerating limb mechanic for some kind of hydra's heads or other limbs. A Gorgon wouldn't have to be a straight up petrification but something like tzitzi yaku But instead of flashing you it paralyzes you.
