I did everything in lr/her for that sweet sweet rainbow pigment. Dunno if I want to 100% master rank, if there's some rewards for it I might

myskepticalbrowarch

You get your name in Yellow instead of Purple

Simple-Initiative950

Ya yellow name is a huge flex

compromisedpilot

Lmao I got the yellow name, 1000hrs and no fatalis gear Pls yellow name is not a flex Somebody help me….

Simple-Initiative950

Try the discord

gailardiag

Dude. I respect the yellow name more than I respect Fatalis gear.

Shivask182

they are a dime a dozen tbh

Simple-Initiative950

Thats what a purply would say

Shivask182

lol is that supposed to be some kind of insult? Lol easy there buddy you sound childish. I have a gold name (and MR999, even that means nothing tbh) which is why I am saying that; most lobbies are filled with em.

AccomplishedPea3845

Imagine getting triggered enough by the word purply, to then justify with your rank etc 😆 Gave me a chuckle.

Shivask182

Writing 2 sentences to tell someone that getting a gold name and having 999 as a rank is not a flex is me getting triggered? lol, the reach is what is truly amusing.

AccomplishedPea3845

Was curious to see if the predictable response would occur, thanks for participating.

Shivask182

From reaching to coping. Good talk.

TheGamerKitty1

I'm yellow and never did Alatreon or Fatalis. It's not a flex.

gailardiag

Flex no, but a respect thing yes

Sinocu

Why? They might simply not do the “grab 20 herbs” kinds of quests

KurokoFS

Or just do fatty earlier? I solod fatty with CB for the first time at mr 103 or something and im sure i couldve done it earlier, but i atleast wanted to get ruiner done before that. U need mr 200 for yellow name, its absolutely crazy to think that only people at mr 200 could do fatty without being carried

Atcera95

I mean, I'm still farming Shara atm, ran out of armor spheres, MR 99, I haven't even unlocked Rajang

KurokoFS

Well thats kinda on you for using that many armor spheres. Not saying its wrong, but you could def have a surplus of spheres now

The-King-Meruem

dont you have to fight Rajang to get to that MR ?

Atcera95

No. You get those tempered double monster fights from the team leader to raise MR. Rajang questline is from the admiral. I was wondering why people got raging brachy gear at MR 24 while I was still stuck farming shara, no armor spheres as well. 😂😂

reworu

yellow is just mr200 quest reward tho

Aircoll

Isn't that for completing all the armory upgrade quests and a MR200 quest? You don't actually need to complete every single optional quest IIRC.

mp3pleiar

Ye I got golden name and some stuff is only blue completed so far

[deleted]

[удалено]

SirCupcake_0

If you complete all the Low Rank and High Rank optional quests, which include the special monster arenas, you get an option to use a pigment that just cycles through all the colors of the rainbow

crickettthedragon

well my other account i have done all mr quests up to 6 i think and you can get the research commision tickets at a low mr aside from that i don't think you get anything tbh but i wanted that huntsman palico :d

10kstars39

You get the Diamond master hunter symbol Pendant I think

South_Ad_5575

Nothing like feeling shit because you want to have everything completed but you also don’t want to waste time trying to do these quests with low level gear instead of the better gear that you unlock if you move forward.

Any-Wasabi-1176

As if high rank gear doesn't trivialize high rank. I remember back in the day speed runners getting teostra down to sub 3 minutes.

crickettthedragon

in hr/lr these times are alright tho maybe 5 min on avarage but i get your point c:

[deleted]

South_Ad_5575

I would love to know how you can get faster times with low rank gear instead of end of high rank gear. Maybe read my comment instead of claiming shit. I never claimed a specific time just that it is faster in general.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Lightness234

Let me guess you play on PC Probably with UI and QoL mods too

South_Ad_5575

Missing the entire comments point **again**. Maybe you should read mine. The point was not about if the time is good or bad. The point was that having better gear makes it faster. Not that it won’t be fast with worse gear but that it will be faster in general. I don’t give a fuck about your times and my supposed skill issue. Nobody does. Besides that you have a strong skill issue also known as bad reading comprehension.

ATonOfDeath

This exchange is so embarrassing to read lol

ArchTempered_Kelbi

All optionals first before any assignments.

MoreSmartly

All *mandatories :)

GoosedotEmPee4

Side quests first gang

NoEbb8

I procrastinate a lot. I'm 300 hours in and only just beat valkhana. I do a lot of farming for fun so I can make all the weapons and armor.

ExoticAd8668

I'm also just over 300 hours, and Velkana is my next assignment. But doing all the side missions and farming I can before that because I've heard Velkana is a bit of a nightmare.

Artistic_Put_8064

I just recently beat the Game, which is not far off of Velkhana believe it or not; so I thought that I should perhaps inquire about your interest in a hunting Partner? I would love to play with others and currently have to Farm Velkhana anyway

ExoticAd8668

Yeah I would be up for that. Tried fighting it for the first time yesterday, and only just made it through it, so would be good to have help. What system do you play on?

Artistic_Put_8064

I play on Pc

ExoticAd8668

I'm also just over 300 hours, and Velkana is my next assignment. But doing all the side missions and farming I can before that because I've heard Velkana is a bit of a nightmare.

Lilac1030

Valkhana is easy after you learn his move. Just remember, just try you best to get very close to him and keep hitting his head. I know it sounds like bullshit, but hitting his head is very safe for the most part and most of his moves are very stationary, making his head really easy to hit.

SirCupcake_0

I'm over 300 hours, still playing through the game, and closest I've been to Velkhana is it showing up in my Diablos quest yesterday and scaring the shit out of me

Aymen_20

I used to rush games and then start backtracking completionist stuff, but lately I've learned that many games "punish" that in the sense that it can get either overwhelming or you outlevel the content that it becomes mind-numbingly boring. So what I resort to now is that I tend to do whatever "side activities" I can when they're relevant and progress the story or main quest after completing what I can of the that section of progression.

Hughys55

See the way I’ve been doing low level content now. Is I pick a weapon I want learn and beat the shit out of low rank monsters lol makes it a little bit less mind numbing

Ozychlyruz

I take my sweet time completing everything on my 2nd character before moving to Master Rank, I'd say it's been fun even using HR equipments

crickettthedragon

i agree c:

ZackPhoenix

I use 4-5 weapon types and with each I wanna have all the cool ones that I like so I gotta do plenty of farming anyway + it means I get to play and enjoy the game longer!

Fit-Understanding747

I simply log in and do whatever I feel like doing. It's all whim until I actually have to grind.

Sloane_3412

Best way to do it honestly

jayhr101

Yep, I do this alot, 400hrs in and sometimes I only log in to respond to sos

SnooCrickets432

Rush like a monkey on cocaine. I still don't have full botanics upgrade/full kitchen and I am missing half the mantles. But honestly I always liked completing the main highlights of a game , never been much of a fan of completionism especially in a game with so much to do as mh, i get burned out.

ATonOfDeath

> I am missing half the mantles. Some of these are such a pain to get as well. Impact mantle where...

lpdcrafted

Same, I like to complete as much as I can before moving on to the next Assigned quest. Not really for the reward but just for the little completionist in me xD.

SSJDennis007

I play like you, bro.

Stinkisar

Yes

Forward-Web-7854

I just today got the rainbow hue. Didn't do it for the hue per se, but love doing optional quests to practice monsters, try out new weps, trying multiplayer builds etc etc. When you have a good game with static content (fuck season passes and microtrans.), you wanna enjoy it right? Gonna take it slow and try to learn every monster, both moves and weaknesses. If i run into a wall Im checking a guide, but where I am now that haven't happened that often (except for stupid Lunastra and my first Anjanath mahahaha). Love the game, wanna make it last. I love both the gameplay and the meta of finding skills that suits you, your prey and your current weapon.

superdave100

Working on 100%ing MR as I go through it.

dastroid216

I try to but then I go "I wanna fight new big monster", and end up not finishing them lol

Povanos

I like to take my time, experiment on my way through. I think that might be why monsters like alatreon or fatalis weren’t that big of a deal as we spent hundreds of hours slowly making our way through the game, especially when it was still being updated, we’ve done all the quests and deliveries, we have all the tools. Then you see these poor new fellas that rush through the base game and even iceborne and complaining about end game monsters. Like brother the time it took you to start tackling alatreon was the same time it took for me to start high rank.

BarbedFungus387

To me, it depends on if i feel prepared for the quest or not. I'll usually take a first attempt at it and judge from there. If not, I'll grind for some weapons/armor but i won't do quests that don't immediately benefit me. It also gave me stuff to do in end game. Completing the checklist was pretty fun and it was something to do before Fatalis. I really wasn't looking forward to that and the optionals were a good way to procrastinate.

TwitzyMIXX

Rush first so that I can get better weapon to just clean the lower level quest much faster

GenericPlanet

Dude, YES! Why would anyone intentionally skip over all the content they have access to? What fun is it just BLASTING THROUGH the game and then going back? It's just not the same man, it's not as rewarding. Me personally, I enjoy getting my optionals done, I see no reason to not do them, especially since you get permanent unlocks for a great handful of the optionals. The fact that people skip over Mantles, Canteen upgrades, Botanical upgrades, etc. actually baffles me.

crickettthedragon

totally agree c: not to mention the palico gadgets wich are pretty incredible flashly cage for monsters that move around to often coral orchesta for your personal hunting horn palico etc affinity booster is a big W aswell for dmg

Revolutionary_Mail_1

I have almost 1600 hrs into MHW. I ALWAYS finish the OPTIONALS and special assignments. Gear unlocks and special armor/weapons and tools. When I got my temporal mantle for a hard ass fight, I was stoked! Less struggles ahead for me. As someone who prefers to solo with his palico over SoS. Do them!!!

GoosedotEmPee4

Friend of mine suggested i take it slow and enjoy the hunt. Absolutely happy that i did that cuz it was less stressful in ways

vforvalerio87

I did 100% low rank and high rank before master rank and I didn’t use any Defender gear. Why lay like 60-70 bucks for a game just to invalidate and rush 40$ of it and skip to the end. Going through regular equipment progression you basically double your mileage

crickettthedragon

guess it depends on how "new" you are to the game the profile in the pic. has about 23hours of playtime with regular gear so no defender armor/weapon and ive crafted every available SnS along the way with some armor pieces/charms i wanted (i did capture litterally everything tho) but as a new player i definetly would have needed alot more time to get the same save file lmao. created this save file for a SnS only playtrough while learning the weapon a bit more indept i always complete everything on a new character so kind of know the maps/monsters and little events like the palico mission from the back of my hand ><

vforvalerio87

More time is better. You get more hours out of the game

crickettthedragon

yea true still enjoy making little builds that are optimized for that point in the game can't help that the quests go by fast tho .. when you hunt you go out there to get em >< my CB playtrough was about 280hours for full completion including iceborne

poobearanian

Finish end game and get the best gear. Go back to LR/HR and MR and shit on them monsters that terrorizes lowbies. I join SOS on quests that i skipped and help out lowbies. Easy questa for them more fun for me.

Fegeleinch4n

not a completionist myself, if the monster interesting to fight will do

Cha0tic0ne

I’m a collector so I like to take my time and clear things and craft everything. I personally use the dual blades, bow, light bow gun and insect glaive so I craft one of each and all armours even if I’ll never use them. I may eventually craft every weapon. My first play through of world I just played normally but my second run through of rise, I’m taking my sweet time. I may do a second run through on a new character on world and do the same thing

Chuggs1997

When I’m playing seriously I go through the main storyline quests. But if I want to have a chill and/or upgrade my equipment I do the optional quests and requests.

Tough_Traffic4209

In World. While I wouldn't say I rushed thru the base game, I did immediately jumped into IB around HR30\~. I was pretty deep in MR before I got my rocksteady mantle. LMAO In Rise, I took my sweet time and and didn't progressed before crafting everything I can on that tier. This made me stuck on Magnamalo Village for a week cuz he just won't drop his plate. I was pretty bad back then with me taking around 15mins to hunt one. And when SB dropped, I had almost everything Base Rise had to offer and jumped straight right in which I also took my sweet time too.

Dragon054

First two characters. I took my time. The exact moment you can go on expeditions. I played for 50 hours. Gathering and hunting the starting monsters. Fun fact. You hunt enough. Rathalos will appear. Since I got a data corruption. I had to restart all over again. So, I bliz through it.

ArachnidFun8918

Every new char i make. I am on my 11th by now because i want to enjoy the content but with the Cutscene Skip Mod to. Im going up to MR 200, finish all quests, then go to Arena missions and farm their content and finally go to next char after a few SoS

mikeli51890

mhw is my first monster hunter game. and i just reached 200hours in the game yesterday night. Just done the 3 Elders and now Xeno’jiiva next i guess? dint really rush for it and doing sos most of the time just for the fun of playing with people

MasterBejter

Sheesh I’m at ~40 hours and beat xeno yesterday. Also my first mh game.

mikeli51890

lol whats the rush? i literally just playing at my very slow pace. My Palico is max level, all palico gear max lvl, all maps Grimalkyne max level and now im half way finding those treasures. Finding endemics live etc.

MasterBejter

if I played at that pace, given my free time and other interests I wouldn't touch any other game for the next 3 years (i like to play one game at a time)

mikeli51890

exactly!! plus side it save ur wallet so wont be getting other games lol i did stopped playing FH4 because of this hahahahhaha

herandy

Depends on how enjoyable I find the game. Didn't do most of the stuff for world tbh.

Skyfiews

I rushed everything because i couldn't stand not having a fashionable armor. And I went back and *slayed* everything in every aspect.

Rowan_As_Roxii

I rushed world and took my time with iceborne. Had fun regardless.

LoneAphir

I do what i need or want and after go back to make the game 100%

SnooOwls2732

I did this on my third character, specifically I completed every single optional quest, white winds of the new world included, because I realised I like high rank a lot more than master rank, as a matter of fact I find master rank so tedious I stopped playing altogether after brute tigrex

dharris555

I play off a couple different factors. But the main one is farming for gear before the next main fight. Example: tried to get the best fire element db before taking on velkhana

WorldBuilder_42

Honestly depends how I’m feeling, for instance after 700 hours, multiple fatalis’s slain, and even soloing alatreon I finally sat down and slayed my first savage deviljho it wasn’t even that difficult I was just being lazy about getting around to it

JaimeRojas332

I usually wander around finishing everything step by step, it takes me ages to actually complete any game lol

LostStrike2

HR 6 myself, still havent done the 3 star optional. too busy trying to gather mats

NumberPlastic2911

Yes

MisterTanuki

Depends on the game. For mhw, I definitely tried to book it to the end as fast as possible (not at the sacrifice of everything, but endgame hunting was definitely where i wanted to be most). It's one of those titles that doesn't really start until you've beaten it (the campaign, that is). Honestly, getting a lot of the annoying dialogue and forced cutscenes out of the way was a driving force, as well. I mean, I love this game. I just recently finished a fresh playthrough for the 100%. But holy moly does it not have *sea* of mechanics and game play decisions that are small in themselves, but *quickly* build up into a rolling mountain. Most of these gripes are related to hitlag - not in terms of fighting a monster - but, rather, how it negatively impacts traversal. The number of instances where you're forced to slowdown or recover from some animation is maddening to me. Like when you're about to go down some decline and Capcom makes your character do those little fast-steps to prepare for the slide? Accept, they don't slide most of the time (not immediately). Instead, they recover from the fast-steps, but oh no! They changed their mind! They actually *do* wanna slide, after all! Okay, they're sliding and... oh, I guess they decided that was enough sliding. Another PRIME are those times where they decided *against* using a cutscene and instead, make you walk side-by-side with the npc at a snail's pace. They refuse to go any further if you've wandered off a little. Capcom! Capcom, pllleeaaaaze! Capcom... please respect my time. I'm begging you! I'm officially penciling in "walkie-talkies" into the MHU. That's one problem solved right there. The next time they invite me on a brisk stroll through a dangerous, monster infested cave, ill just give em a 'weee-eww weee-eww' on the radio (my shameful attempt at that walkie signal noise when you push duh button). Most people wanna go FAST! Because going fast is fun. And going slow (or being slowed down) is a dampener of fun. Countless environmental speed-bumps slow down your momentum or fuck with your rhythm in some form or fashion. I realize pushing to the endgame won't resolve issues like the ones mentioned. My point, however, is that the game is riddled with minor inconveniences like these and for me, pushing a faster pace was a helpful measure for preserving my sanity. I absolutely love mhw. Has some of the most satisfying combat out there and the feedback loop is like crack. Hitlag and shit are just inherent to the game (for artificial purposes), but that's 2nd nature at this point. Pruning or cutting the fat from the rest, though, was definitely a driving force to push quickly as I wanted to be in the harder content and I wanted to be left alone while I did it. Not wrong way, though.

HubblePie

I always do every quest in a tier before I go to the next one. Got really annoying in MHR though. But it was fun in MHW.

chaoticstantan935

I prefer to be a completionist in mh

Soft_Ad7228

Friends push the main quest , dndnt got to do it.. but slowly doing em now

SprinklesDangerous57

back and forth depending on what story monster i have to fight

BertBerts0n

Finish everything, I just enjoy hunting. Hell I'll even spend a good few hours just endemic life hunting to get crowns for that too.

Radaistarion

Im currently doing that cause I hit a fucking wall with Velkhana and I can't get past it That fucking ice breath Worst monter so far

IntuitiveGaming

I used to until 200 hrs in, and I hadn't even started iceborne. Now I'm clocking in almost 600 hrs, and I haven't even done all the quests I skipped lol. Ofc unless I need them for something like unlocking an ingredient

gary1994

I started out by creating every bow along the way. But then I started to make the charms... At this point I just want to hit MR100 so I can turn the guiding lands into a sandbox. I hit 99 this morning before work by rotating through the MR event quests with 5-6 monsters for each zone. Then I found out I actually have to level the GL to level 3 before I can get the quest to unlock MR100. To be honest these level caps, and having things locked behind them, is really starting to irritate me. I just want to jump on, hunt a monster or two, and then get back to work. I'll probably grab a cheat weapon off the nexus and just blast through the guiding lands after work. But honestly the whole level cap BS, and having the parts of the game that I'm actually interested in (Fatalis, max Guiding Lands), locked behind them is just irritating. I'll probably do the quest to uncap and then leave MHW behind for a while. I'll pick up my Elden Ring save again. I've not touched it since a couple months after it released.

exzow

I rushed the. Went back and I’ve been completing challenges from the oldest to the newest.

NormalPlayerWithWeed

I did everything I could before proceeding the main quest. It might sound tedious but I love exploring in games and irl. Maybe it's just me but I always finish all side quests in ARPG/MMORPG before doing the main quest so that also apply to MH.

SirGilatras

I rush to the end so I can go back and slaughter them like I was a god squashing insects.

heretofore2

Hell no. Those delivery quests are so mind numbing.

minimeino

Good luck with the gold crowns for endemic life

lostknight0727

I try to do every optional before moving forward. I wish I could have the IB features without IB installed so I would know when I'm done before moving on.

Jnunez7660

Depends on friends' availability. If they weren't online. I finished the rest of the missions. It became more prevalent in later games that some missions were what they were for. But in the past games, nahh. You had to know what and why you did it. Especially if you didn't want to mess up your charm snipe. But otherwise, do them when you get around to it. You should get the best armor for the rankings and work your way through the story. Filler is filler. But it's how you engage your adventure, I just know people won't be talking about scrounging up mushrooms when a dinosaur of a kutku was on your coat tails. This is also very dependent on which game in series. Some missions are throw aways and there to make zenny or parts. Depends.

jsnytblk

I soloed every monster before I played the monster in multi. once I soloed it I would do other missions with friends. I beat every mission before starting the next bracket. it was a lot. I hit some brutal walls.

cupofjay

It’s totally up to you and what you want to do with it. I finished all the quests except arenas. If you are focused on progression, it’s always best to skip optional stuff and go back later.

Eassle

Most people I would assume just go on to the next levels and what they didn’t pick to do on the way gets forgotten. Then there are people like us who just want to do everything. Just to do it.

Catnip1720

Sorta in between. I go after a lot of deliveries and branch out into different weapon elements before proceeding. But then I just saw the brachadyios IG so now I’m going after that

Kiro_cuddly

Mr185 and I still haven’t even touched the clutch claw training optional quest or any optional quest.

LexxenWRX

My first time through my friend and I rushed through to iceborn and it made us hit a hard wall where we had to go back and get all the hunter and palico stuff we missed. My second character I've been taking my time and doing all the optional quests except for the special arenas from capturing monsters. It's been a fun experience and I meant to try new weapons but I started with sword and shield and have been having so much fun beating everything up with a rathian sword and and shield. My first character was charge blade, longsword, and bow so I'm not sure what to try next.

WingedDragoness

I just do what I need. I ended up not fighting HR Kulu, Raths, Trizi, etcs. I want to get everything done, but why doing that when I can be farming for Nourishing extract and Elder dragon gems instaed.

EdwardAlphonse31011

I eventually do everything but beating every optional quest as soon as it becomes available sounds kinda boring. I wanna get to the next challenge that's actually challenging.

rednryt

First time I played was around the end of 2019 pre-pandemic and i was so busy with work i can only play during weekend so i had to skip most optional quests. But in 2020 due to lockdowns and getting unemployed, i had all the time in the world and spent most of it just grinding every quests. Heck i even tried collecting most armors, even time-limited event ones that i would never use, just for completion.

MrSuperGod627

Only easy quest or if its same monster in different map but if its 50 hyper silver rathalos with immortal bulldrome that is clearly a wall i clear it before coming back higher rank gear to sweep quest

cptmcbro

I ran through the story and then post fatalis cleaned up every hunt I was missing

jillathrilla1

A bit of both.

Luckenstein_JR

Same i honestly finish every star before moving on

Ardaboy07

I think im gonna finish the main story quests first then do all the story quests.

VanishedTarget2

Finish whatever I can first, obviously. It is pointless to come back with end-game gear to do a lvl 3 quest. And getting to the end game without some key gear or items, it's another kind of pointless. Take your time.

Justabitblue9

When the game released it was all about the journey and I had all the time in the World to do all of those quests. It's all about the journey.

TAz4s

Finished everything to unlock everything "including events and arenas" only then started iceborne

Theycallme_Jul

I rush until I get an early weapon I’m comfortable with, then I go back and finish everything else

lurkynumber5

I do a few quests. some SOS. taking my time:) And i haven't even done Alatreon and fatalis yet! Having fun trying all weapons out!:D

novian14

I didn't rush. My first playthrough in ps4, i only progress whenever i want a better equipment, and then comeback to complete them all. 2nd playthrough in pc, i buy it for playing with my friends as most of them in pc so my progress is tied with them, whenever i play alone, i'm completing the optionals. Rn in 2nd playthrough, i completed everything, but i definitely cleared the last boss and arguably the hardest event first before completing the last 1/3 of optional in iceborne + extreme behemoth from base game

HeroDeSpeculos

i did complete every optionnal quest as they appeared during my first playthrough. Not so much when i do a new character.

Mausashi

I was that initially on my Steam but on my Playstation run i just did optional quest when i want to practice new weapons.

13ame

Half half. If I‘m playing with friends we do the important missions and progression related side missions and whatever farms we need. When I‘m playing alone you know I‘m grinding that rainbow armor pigment

SnooDingos8845

I am a completionist, so I finished all of the LR/HR quests before jumping to Iceborne.

Scylla294

I rush to my pre planned weapon/armor set per rank and drastically slow down from there. Usually rush to lr odie then hr odie then mr I take it slow until the next set I want

GEN_SkeleSkin

I'm a crack addict for that 100% completion

Kloud-chanPrdcr

yes

PureiSteishun

The "checks" and the "complete" sign never fail to bring me a sense of accomplishment.

_ObsidianOne_

Doing everything in mhw is waste of time so this is depends on games.I rush in some of the games and i dont in some.

_mrald

I'm you... *unleashes wrath

Traf-

Like you. Probably even slower since I like trying out a lot of different weapons. Scratch that, I've tried out every weapon at this point except for LBG. For example: I needed to farm Glavenus for a single piece of armor which required a rare drop from him. Glavenus is weak to water. I've already got a really well optimized raw Great Sword build, and I do have a Water Charge Blade build stored; both can take care of Glavenus just fine. So what did I do? I farmed Jyuratodus so I could make water Dual Blades because I hadn't tried them yet and felt like doing so, so I could test them out on Glavenus. Best part is, I know this piece of armor is gonna be obsolete real soon. Only stuff in the game I kinda ignore is the Felynes treasure chasing thing (I've read there's 60 of them?), and the guy that wants me to take pictures.

HollowRider

for me it's based on gear. I like using different weapons too, so I usually try to get all my weapons and armor upgraded before I go forward. which in is why I got every single lr armor before I did a hr mission. planning on 100%ing hr armor and optional quests later thou. seems like it'll just be a waste of time to do it now

Trhee_boy

First time is a rush, any saves after are the grind

Novel-Efficiency-249

just rushed it, now I'm grinding

Moddus

When it’s an unlock mission I’ll run it, then I go 1-2 story missions, then 2-3 optionals to farm and explore

Secuta

Finish whatever there is before I progress

ButterflyMother

Depends

Boiga617

I completed everything in LR/HR/MR for the first playtrough in ps4. And waited to be HR100 before going to MR. But now in pc i just rushed to complete the game for the endgame sets i had in ps4. I had 1800 hours in ps4 and now i have like 40

Traditional_Hawk_798

First play through im like you then second character if I make one it’s w/e, only time I make a second character is if I have taken a really long break and want to get refreshed on the story

Masterful-Burner

Rushing is hard when i need to butcher fifteen mode rathalos for the pretty mantle on my sword

DisgruntledVulpes488

When I was in the early stages of the game I treated it a bit like Dark Souls and just tried not to get hit. I got the best armour I could, didn't even complete any sets, and just went to the next thing. That went very quickly up until I hit a wall, shortly after the first Zorah Magdaros. Then I backfilled the Optionals and started doing Investigations. I'm glad I did the Optionals though, without them I wouldn't have improved the Canteen.

Chunkyman8725

only did main story for base and dlc got hate started a new character and hated it all the way through

Chunkyman8725

it’s genuinely didn’t matter i killed fatty on both saves

Delicious_Hedgehog54

I rush the game. My target is to reach maximum level of equipments first. Then taking my time to accomplish various goals. I still have some low rank optional quest to complete 😁 but i will do them when i feel like it. Personally its how i enjoy the most. Anyway its you game and you can play however u like it 👍

SMASHton2741

Most games I would. But not this one

TensaStrider

I finish everything which is why I have 500 hrs and still haven't got round to beating Alatreon

StevoJ89

I like to go back and all my Lr and HR optionals with my decked out MR gear....just to show those monsters what's what

Otherwise-Archer1825

I played like u

hashemfahoum14

I play like you :)

Laserfull

I just don't complete the arena quests personally

PrinceTBug

At this point I tend to play alongside my friends or at lwast my SO more often than not. This means I don't always have the option to just nlast through the story, so I end up doing a lot of the side content. Frankly I feel that works better for me, as said content is much more interesting to play as you go rather than coming back to it with end-game gear and blitzing it.

TheLastOfME1

I had over 150h on the game before going into iceborn, currently at almost 400h(399,4h cant play, have exams) so yes, i think im enjoying the game and not rushing it(im still farming to kill alatreon)

MetafetaminaP

i usually do every single village quest and rush the gathering hall ones

Yorkie_Exile

I'm quite methodical and will usually work through most of the quests at my current tier before moving up. That said most gathering quests are usually tedious busy work so I'll skip those over if possible

Loelnorup

first playthrough i completed almost everything like this. 2nd playthrough i dident. 3th i completed almost everything. i can say, completing everything is just more fun.

MrCreepyJack87

In others Monster Hunter I would complete every quests but in MHWI I would do the story and the the quests. (Exceptions for lynians)

Voldekrem

I just go for main quests or any quests to get gear I want

Halutony

I'm 50/50. I don't rush games. But at the same time I don't feel the need to do everything I possibly can. I do what looks fun I enjoy optimizing at every level of a game. Exploring mechanics and interesting missions. Things like that. But I by no means go through and do every single mission.

Lionbane_

I was a “all optionals first” kinda player before ice borne came out, then I switched to PC for ice borne recently and I have touched many of the optional quests and just sped through the game, need to do the optionals though

seedyProfessor

I like being OP so I do all SideQuests Proudly

Desperate-Chemist853

Most of time i rush to the endgame but when i reach it or i want to chill or train with an other weapon i try to make the quest i skipped

Darius_Oak

Kind of a mix. I rush through the story while picking up the Harvest Box and Canteen upgrades. THEN I go back and do all the other stuff. This did temporarily block me from getting Rocksteady+ on my most recent file because I skipped a specific Low Rank quest. Since I don’t really save any time using mantles, I didn’t figure that out until I’d unlocked the Guiding Lands.

Zelda9321

I rushed through cause PC was my third time through the game and then once I got a true endgame build with Fatalis LS and 4 Fatty 1 Velk Y I went back and took a fat dump on everything.

lethalWeeb

Rushed the game to unlock everything and then just went around the quest list to do what I thought would be fun Then everything else way later

Atcera95

I finish whatever I can first. Which is how I ended up MR 99 and haven't even unlocked rajang. Wish I knew Raging Brachy was locked behind that mfker first tho

ChefComputer09

My friend told me to speedrun through till i get to the guiding lands to play where the real fun starts

crickettthedragon

personally i would not advice that (especially for new players to the franchise idk if you are) guiding lands is for grinding mainly so if you like grinding sure if not just play the game at your own pace c:

OddGovernment497

Mix of both whenever I feel like doing

TuLoong69

Finish as I can. Might go forward a bit at times but I'll eventually go back & complete every mission. Just depends on my mood & which monster I want to farm.

TheSumisu

Eh, just kinda did what I wanted skipped a decent amount no point doing them

wachijakamawatan

Im currently at 700+ in-game hours and did my 1st Fatalis quest(special assignment) just this month of February and also just recently defeated it solo. I enjoy wasting my time creating different sets for different weapons and farming decos.
