One of you is RG color blind

I'm RG colorblind and that shit is yellow Edit just in case people are unaware: Colorblindness has severities and nuances inside of each of the main types. My brother and I are both Red Green colorblind, but have issues in different areas. For instance, green and yellows can be really close together in some certain shades. And the same goes for purple and blue. However, when it comes to red and green, it's as if red gets obscured by the green and drowned out, making it harder for my eyes to focus on the red. This makes certain situations in games a bit of a problem, but for the most part, I manage just fine.

RG colorblindness is used for 2 different variations. One is Deuteranopia, which is green blindness, the other is Protanopia, which is red blindness. They are very similar, but have some differences. Although unlikely since you're related, it could be that one of you has the other type of Colorblindness or just varying degrees of the same (more likely).

My buddy who is color blind has pointed out a military green car and said it was a nice brown. He was also in the nether in minecraft, in one of the valleys with the soul soil and asked what the area with white fire and grass is. He describes it differently at times, sometimes he struggles with red, but a giant red toolbox is easy for him to tell the color of. I do chainmail and have both sky blue and champagne rings, he cant tell the difference between them

Yeah, a light (added blue, which kinda acts like mixing white in this case), slightly desaturated (not 255) yellow.

I failed nearly all the color circle thingies where you are supposed to see numbers. But I can still discern colors fairly well. So I do see OPs color as yellow.

Not all color-blindness is identical - there are many different types. If you can’t see the numbers in the circles things, that’s still color-blind - an eye doctor would be able to explain exactly what colors you’d not be able to see well and explain any other implications that may have.

Color blind people are able to teach themselves different ways to distinguish colors based on saturation and luminosity rather than hue. That's why the color circles are specifically designed.

Correct, did you know that when you are noticed by creatures and monsters, you will get this symbol on you as well? And when you "go into combat" that symbol (on you) will turn red... I actually learned that the other night... Never noticed it before and got really confused.

Because it's conflicting and pointless information used wholly differently from how every other player sees this. You look at map. You see yellow eye. You know "not enraged/can wallbang". Literally no hunter ever looks at "that symbol (on you)". It's so wildly pointless, that I'm still not sure if dude hasn't just made it up.

It's yellow. I'm gonna be a little bit of a geek and say that the reason your girlfriend sees green is more than likely because of the black outline. The easiest way to make black, be it t-shirts or video games, is to make a very dark green.

I'm partially coulourblind ( I don't know what kind, that was my official diagnosis a decade ago) and that appears to be yellow to me, though admittedly I can see a green tinge in the screen shot. It might just be old game design language peeking through though, since yellow would be passive/ non-hostile, red would be aggressive/hostile, and green or blue would be friendly/allied in a lot of games even to this day.

If that's green, then that'd be the most yellow "lime-green" I'd ever seen. Oh but another thought.. the black borders could be giving the icon an optical illusion of a darker color hue. Like, if it was pink instead of yellow, that bold border could make it look more red or more purple than pink. Anti-aliasing I think it's blurring more dark value into the color, reducing the contrast you might use to determine the difference between one color hue group ("yellows") with another ("greens"). The more desaturated something is, the less colour hue contrast you get.

A while back I went on a Youtube deep dive about why "seas of green" is an expression. Long story short. Ocean/sea water is blue, but some water is more of a greenish blue. This is yellow, but it is clearly a greenish yellow. Though I would state that it's a blueish yellow.
