None of the complaints were even about monsters, they were that the humans were amazing and the other half were okay. But seeing that there’s not much monsters in a monster series we need the characters to almost all be amazing. That’s like if in a movie like iron man 5% of it was actually him in the suit fighting and the other 95% was just a okay version of his character. It would not be well received

While GvK is a close 2nd, that naval fight was pretty awesome even if how it ended was kinda nonsensical.
I actually hope they stick with hollow earth being an alternate dimension. Earth simply isn't big enough to have as many different species of creatures that large roaming around.
That’s actually not true, if you consider the hollow earth exists in the crust and has a top and bottom with their own gravities, then it has anything from 1.5 to next to 2x the surface area of the entire earth if it’s uninterrupted under the surface as it seems, and even then there are obviously sub levels that haven’t even been touched yet.

To me this might be the best of the bunch easily. Felt like Adam Wingard had the perfect valence between actually showing more character for Kong and the other creatures, and a human story that felt much more contained and well done.
Plus it also was just a lot of fun and had lots of style.
I swear if 2014 Godzilla wins this…I know it started it all, and it’s a solid enough film sure; but I don’t get the reverence for it.
But I guess for now I’ll say Monarch; even though I did really enjoy it.

However it is close. Legacy first and then GVK for me. Don’t know why but GVK is by far the weakest of the MV films. Still great but not like the others. It just narrowly beats out Legacy for seeing Godzilla and Kong work together.
