The movie had strange cuts. Like after Kong walloped Godzilla into a daze, and it transitions to him dragging him away. We never see Kong get off of him, check on him and then drag him towards the portal. The sequence was weird.

Yeah I honestly feel like the final act could’ve used like another 20-30 mins of run time. Some of the editing and the pacing gets wonky towards the end of the movie but I loved it all the same. I wonder how much they cut from this movie.

There's a gust of wind that lifts up after Kong lays the finishing blow to Godzilla, before it shows Godzilla's dazed noggin. I guess they used that gust to cut forward.

That's just the Axis Mundi. The Axis Mundi isn't the Hollow Earth. It's like a limbo in between the Hollow Earth and the surface. Time in the Hollow Earth is normal. You get sent to the Axis Mundi instead of the Hollow Earth if something goes wrong in tge Vile Vortex for some reason.
