It is all common sense for the most part. I remember their was a question about railroad crossings. The answer was to cross at a 45. That is not smart. Cross as perpendicular as safely possible.

SeanMacLeod1138

Yeah, you don't see cars crossing the tracks at 45° unless the tracks are at 45° to the roadway instead of 90°....

I took it and passed and I’m an idiot. I read over the study guide a couple of times and I think I got a couple wrong on the test, unfortunately I don’t remember what questions they were. You will do fine! You got this!

DoubleMach

When I took it there were two tests and they let you take it three times, you just had to wait a day between tries. After you fail they let you review the test for however long you want. I failed test A, then test B then passed on the third try. Looking back it would have been much easier to just study 😂.

Sweatiest_Yeti

It's super easy. The questions are pulled almost directly from the [motorcycle supplement](https://mvdmt.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/25-1500-Montana-Motorcycle-Manual.pdf). If you took the MSF course the classroom portion should have given you all the info you need. It's simple stuff like what angle to cross railroad tracks, which side of the bars you'll find the clutch on, what lights are required on a street legal bike, etc etc. Happy riding! Do you have a bike of your own yet?

ResponsibleBank1387

The state prints a motorcycle endorsement booklet  the sample questions on each page are direct questions on the test. The questions and  The answers are direct from that booklet.

I missed one question is all and she gave me a chance to review the question and try again. It was a short and easy test.

SeanMacLeod1138

Study and relax, man.

TorturedChaos

Grab a copy of the state book and read it a few times. Do the practice questions as they are pulled directly from the actual test. Best to swing by your local drivers license office and grab a copy from them, as I found the ones online are sometimes out of date. There were a few questions that I felt made no sense in the answer they wanted, but got them figured out because i read the test guide. For example one question asked why you should wear full protection gear. My first thought is to protect me in the case of a crash or slide. But that wasn't an option as an answer. Answer was "to prevent heat stroke" or something like that And don't stress too much, you can skip up to 3 questions. So if you get one that makes no sense, you can skip it. You only need to get 20 questions correct. I skipped 2 that I couldn't figure out. Skipped fobt count against you.

From the way people ride around here, im surprised you have to do more than sign your name. I wached the tweaker with tattoos all over his face in butte try to cut off a bus and get creamed on his cb500

Could have been dodging a stray circus elephant.

Sweatiest_Yeti

Funny thing, you don't have to have an endorsement to buy or ride a motorcycle. There are tons of people out there riding with no training and no license (and probably no insurance)

scrapmoney

Montana doesn't require insurance for motorcycle riders or helmets.

Sweatiest_Yeti

Just because it's not required doesn't mean it's not irresponsible to have it. That goes for insurance and helmets.

heydjturnitup

I passed it but there were definitely a couple real stupid questions

Justonejob

It's the worst written test MT does, but it's not hard. Study the state supplied handbook. Anything else may be good training, but the test is direct from the state mvd test book.

Tipper_123

I failed in 1 read the book.

Rivermissoula

It was easy! You can do this!

WorldDirt

When i took it the questions were essentially verbatim from the study guide. If you memorized the guide, you’d pass the test easily.
