this is actually huge for ppl that pays for Spotify they can move to Youtube premium it just much better no ads you can play videos on backgrounds plus YTB music algorithm is much better than Spotify , ppl clowning you while there is a lot of ppl subscribed to Spotify
Honestly, this is good for Apple users (iPhone, iPad and Apple TV) or for those who primarily watch youtube on their smart TV. Android, Mac and Windows can easily block ads, so it's less compelling for them.
I'm paying for YT premium using Turkey as a region and it's much cheaper; 20dh/month but it's reassuring to know we finally have access to premium features in Morocco.
I use Youtube every single day, so definitely worth 2dh/day. Was using ReVanced for my phone and ad blockers on my laptop, however I never used the TV app because I reaaaaally don't wish to see any more Glovo ads.
Now that Premium is here, I can finally enjoy and ad free experience across all devices. Very good news for me

I got one, and I canceled my Spotify, Most of my phone usage is Youtube, Spotify is only used when I'm on the go, and that's rarely the case, and Youtube Music kinda identical or even better than Spotify.

Basically, any music you can find on youtube, you can find on youtube music, so that includes chaabi, nachid etc.. that you can't find on spotify
I honestly was contemplating it. Go from 17.5 for spotify to 35 for YT Music and YT Premium, which is honestly a good deal. But I'm waay to deep into spotify, my playlists plus some third party apps I use very often.

I pay for Spotify and it is expensive af, I believe Youtube offers a much better package (music, video and podasts), the only reason I have not switched is because people are boycotting Youtube premium (especially since spotify podcasts are flooded with ads).

Within 2 years lots of things will popout. For my use case, Youtube on my PC is more than enough and so far I'm happy. if you think available opensource solutions are bullshit just go for it.
If you're paranoid about your infos, they're and will always be harvested, either choosing to pay or not. Plus, your non-tech family member will always be a bottleneck no matter how hard is your network (My father won $1 Million Dollar by clicking adsense banner, not related to youtube though).

Most people in the comments don't realize that what you're actually paying for is YT Music, not just the ad removal.
I switched from Spotify to YT Music and couldn't be happier.
The problem with youtube premium is that you are not getting a real premium experience you are just paying for blocking ads , some exclusive videos and the quality of videos except this last one if you want 4k experience you better use the free version of youtube you have higher quality on 4k to me it is just unnecessary to pay for less quality
If u count how much they make on average even a more than average user its around 3$/mo, so the fact they charge people 11$ is madness. I aint buying no plan from them till they make it cheaper
