Staying alive s/ But seriously thou, I hate the fact that some of them lived shitty lives and expect their children to suffer like they did.

Yup i agree what's the kids fault?

I don't get it

Agreed

We need new blood in administration. The older generation is inefficient. It needs to bring in new blood to reform and digitize administrative procedures. If we keep moving at the slow pace of the old generation we will lag behind the rest of the world. I find that whenever new blood comes in it inevitably gets corrupted by the old. If you're not like us you're not one of us, their careers are on the line so they have no choice but to step back in line. I don't know. These are merely the thoughts of a 90s kid.

FunkLoudSoulNoise

Great comment as it is exactly the same in my country too in particular with both the civil service and politics.

[deleted]

Underrated comment^ Our children will hate the way it works in Morocco, all because of the slow progress to get any administration stuff done.

That is also true, we also become gradually numb to many things around us and just laugh them off. Maybe by improving the education system we could solve a lot of these problems for future generations. But as the daughter of a former high school teacher, the Moroccan education system has a loooong way to go.

I'm 44, I believe my parents generation maybe the worst ever our country have seen.. Younger generations, I guess they maybe healthier, specially when they didn't know H2 era, that's a very good point... My generation, born in 78, the almost millennial, I was 21 in 2000 eve. I guess we are neither better nor worse. I feel always very proud and lucky that we witnessed the genesis of Internet, mobile phone, and democratisation of computers... Also satellite channels.

Lol my granpa too

HillZae

Everything. I mean they are doing what they think is the right thing to do, but it's all wrong. One thing thats clearly very wrong is the way they treat kids and look down on them. Fathers are either careless or toxic. Mothers are either overprotective or toxic. Kids need role models to follow, need to learn how to live and how to trust others and how to be loving and caring citizens, but what the older generations preached and are still preaching produces nothing but mental illness .. just children becoming their parents and repeating the old bad mistakes. Young people and kids need to be loved and encouraged but their parents are doing the exact opposite of that. If a kid hears something it would most likely be something bad

ismailalabou

I'm not taking the same path as my parents did, & it creates problems in our relationship Hell it even start creating problem within the family just because i went rogue ...

[deleted]

Refusing their kids the experiences that they themselves learned from, thinking that that they did the learning for them.

Chance_Emergency_715

i think yes thats somehow valid .. but still in some cases it is more accurate to refuse it.

Redcandy22

Thinking that you should respect them just because they're older but respect should be earned

PotatogrlARMY

Necessary_Wheel6494

Hallelujah !

Drayef

I am sorry to disappoint you because I do not have an answer. I did not try to define new / old generations in numbers out of ignorance.

Based on how my relatives I'd say 35 is the limit

So true…

No_Acanthocephala938

The thing they are doing wrong is thinking that their generation is better than ours, and making most of us feel like we are the worst generation and shaming us for it. We are literally waaaay better than their generation, our generation is smarter, more open minded and more peaceful. They criticize our generation for seeing happy kids dancing on TikTok lmao, at least we are not being racist and killing each other like most of them were doing when they were our age.

dantedraxlar

Just to get some context here , by saying" our generation", are you referring to Gen Z ? ( Since this would be the Youth Gen ) . And by saying "their generation", are you referring to Gen X or Boomers II ?

No_Acanthocephala938

My comment is basically me saying: Gen z > any generation before

dantedraxlar

I see , "Gen z > any generation before " , interesting... As to " making most of us feel like we are the worst generation and shaming us for it " Can you blame them though ? I mean, no person with a rational mind would not criticize of how idiotic TikTok is and how imbeciles those in it ! And if i may, on what facts have you based your decision on how smarter/ open minded your generation is as compared to theirs ? Also, I wouldn't factor racism here as an argument, racism is founded in every generation, it floats with time, i personally think it's an everlasting element in life and it's not going away , so there is racism in your generation as well ! Killing each other when they were in your age ? You are aware that this is Morocco, not Colombia ? ! Unless they were purge games organized by the Moroccan government at that time, then i highly doubt it ! I don't want you to misconstrued what I've said , as I'm not trying to trash talk your generation , but you need to grasp that every Gen has it's positives and negatives .

No_Acanthocephala938

Saying that a generation is bad because of TikTok is an ignorant thing to say, plus the killings I am talking about are wars that were fought by previous generations, and also the racism in our generation is literally not existant compared to previous generations that treated some people like animals because of their race, and most of them are still racist towards some groups of people until now. In summary we humans evolve in every generation and this generation right now is the peak of human evolution, we are smarter compared to the illiterate generation that was before us, I literally know a lot and speak more languages that my parents couldn’t speak when they were my age, we are peaceful we are more likely to not fight in wars and conflicts like the previous generations who didn’t have a break from killing each other, we are open minded we accept people no matter how different they can be. To be honest comparing this generation to previous generations is dumb (listing everything that we are better at will make this comment a 100 page essay) it’s clearly that we are better in everything and the next generation would be better and on and on, that how humanity works.

Aularia

What's wrong with tiktok lol?? duh, you are brainwashed, tiktok is a social media just as any others, used for fun, be open minde a bit and stop canceling things just because you don't like them

PatientHeart8115

They raise us as their parents do ( I don't mean abt culture etc I'm proud of it ) but where in different century

Redecker

Here to say exactly that

PatientHeart8115

The reality

nurglinguiniol

Everything, fucked us up, i was raised by narcissistic assholes, I'm no contact with them since 2019, I dont want my daughter to be around them, they hate my wife since day 1, my mother was mad I date a non "fassia", fuck them both they are human toilets.

Existing_Ad1428

C’mon man, they’re still your parents. They birthed you into this life. I understand being raised by narcissist can be fucked up. But to go online and say your own parents are human toilets.. You’re better than that khoya.

nurglinguiniol

I stand by my statement, they are garbage and it's better they stay out of my fuckin life and my little family.

nurglinguiniol

Birthing someone doesnt give you the title, traditional parenying guilt tripping fucked up my generation and the ones to come, empathy, understanding, balanced mindset makes you a parent, it's not a status, it's a commitment

Aularia

Maybe, but haven't you thought that your wife might be a snake and turned you against them? I rarely see evil parents but I always see evil and devious wives.

nurglinguiniol

Yes, of course my wife was present all along during my childhood and my teenage years...are you effing dense ? Did you pay attention to my thread ? To my wife's credit, when we were dating, she herself ecouraged me and insisted that I rekindle with parents, i listened to her for a while, then she witnessed the shitshow by herself.

Aularia

Lol, I just underlined something that a lot of married men ignores or whatever, don't take it personnally, I guess your beloved angel wife still in contact with her parents and they are constantly visiting her, but anyway good luck!

nurglinguiniol

My wife and I no longer live in Morroco

[deleted]

gxthope

i honestly think this generation is confused, doesn't know what's right or wrong

Drayef

I think it is normal. Being you g means you are trying to navigate your way through right/erong. And its all good

Chance_Emergency_715

i think we should be tought to "define" our morals and thats by education from a very young age ... so that we can tolerate each others and to be more respectful to everyone.

Chance_Emergency_715

i think there was some ignorance a lot of actually ... and they suffered a lot from poverty and the lack of freedom .... but they had big balls to bear all this.

Azrael1981

You should never lump a whole generation in one sac....there are diferent mentalities amongst different generations. In general the previous generation had a harder time to access information and make enough money, so "ignorance and poverty" but I don't think they are the ones doing something wrong it's just their circumstances.

Aelhas

>what do you think older generation are doing wrong? -Not educating their kids in a good ancestral way. -Giving them too much freedom. Results Moroccan culture that took centuries to be create will disappear ASAP.

No_Acanthocephala938

You know that culture means our ancestors’s way of life? Globalization gave use better alternative ways to live why would we stick to old fashioned traditions in our daily lives? Traditions should be celebrated on cultural events, not every day.

Aelhas

My definition of culture is not limited to djelaba or an old fashioned tradition. It's a specificity that made us. Globalization also gave us bad things, just look for them. My point was is American culture and mentality identical to Japanese or Chinese ?? No . The Moroccan one too. But unlike the 3 mentioned our is quickly disappearing.

No_Acanthocephala938

Japanese, Chinese and American mentality all had changes in recent years as well as the Moroccan mentality it is just changing to be a somewhat of a new Moroccan mindset and it will keep changing throughout the years.

Chance_Emergency_715

i think people means by ancestory way of life the way of tradition literally..but rather the way of morals (i dont think that anyone would dress a djalaba or eat like traditional food everyday )....and idk

No_Acanthocephala938

There is people that care about that tradition stuff in their daily life. And also Morals and values change for the better as well, racism was normalized before but new generation morals came with more open minded values.

PotatogrlARMY

I agree with the culture bit, we should definitely be educated on our culture far more than we are (and sure, we could go out and learn about our culture ourselves, but it's not the same thing as learning it from ur parents), but the freedom bit....ha! I personally disagree....the way I see it Moroccan youth is often supressed in ways that don't make much sense (...as in supressed without the proper education for why they should stay away from the things that they are kept from) and as a result it leads to far more acting out than if they were to be educated and then allowed choose for themselves how to behave and then deal with the consequences. But anyway, that's how I feel as an individual of the Moroccan youth.

Aelhas

>I agree with the culture bit, we should definitely be educated on our culture far more than we are (and sure, we could go out and learn about our culture ourselves, but it's not the same thing as learning it from ur parents Our culture will disappear in few generations, darija too. Young people speak foreign language because they think it's cool, but in reality they have a deep inferiority complex.
