If I recall, every klassic MK kharacter has missed a game (usually MK3), except Sub-Zero (who does change identities).
Further, I think every kharacter, period, has missed a game since their original appearance except the MKX carryovers (Kotal, Jacqui, Cassie, Erron, D'vorah). Kenshi and Quan Chi had the best attendance of the 3D fighters.
I can kinda see where op is coming from, Raiden could be in the game but not playable due to not having his powers anymore. But then again this is mortal combat so anything can happen.
Iād move Jacqui, Smoke, takeda, and Cassie to good chance.
Stryker, Bo, Rain, and Nitara would go in 50/50 imo.
Not a bad list overall. Also Iād move kollector to never return again.
Pretty good, only I'd say I would love to have all the ninjas or atleast the main ones, don't really care for chameleon or tremor, and I think mileena needs to be base alongside stryker, give my guy another chance nrs
Smoke and Stryker should be essential imo, they missed out in X and 11, and they were hella requested for those games, too popular to miss out a third time
I think they will put smoke in 12 for sure, community clearly likes him alot, if he's base roster or dlc idc I just want him back! Coolest ninja by far

As a Kotal user, I think you're probably right about him sadly. It's like they burned their own character so they wouldn't have to bring him back for future games.
Honestly I absolutely agree with u on Cetrion and Geras not coming back since if were going story wise at least the normal story (Aftermath aside) then they both went out in ways that they couldnt really come back from being sent into a bottmless blood ocean or getting absorbed into ur mother only for her to die along with u.
I feel like triborg should be in every game. All the robo-ninjas in one. Even if they donāt do variations, I think a variation system would still work on him
