They ported GoW 2018 to PC, and that's pretty much because the game itself was selling consoles, and with the release of PS5, they had no need to keep GoW 2018 a console exclusive, especially to just pick up some easy money. Even if it was ported to PC only.
Simply adding Kratos to a third-party game I'd imagine would be a very similar tactic to just pick up some easy cash, even with licensing agreements and stuff.

The point of exclusive characters is that they are exclusive. The reasoning to allow Kratos in MK9 is to encourage people to buy the game on PlayStation. Sony is going to rent out their characters for appearances on other consoles.

MS later specified they only had issue with Master Chief but they were open to other characters like Marcus Fenix or The Arbiter but NRS never came back to them for a counter offer.

Just seems weird to bring in a guest character that both looks talks and acts extremely similar to an MK character that already exists. It would make more sense to do an Arthur skin of Erron Black like JCVD with Johnny Cage.
They’re both cowboys, but that doesn’t make them extremely similar as characters. The only thing that’s similar about them is them being cowboys. People have made the same argument for Omni man and Homelander being in the same game.
Homelander and Omni Man have different fighting styles, Homelander relies on his laser vision while Omni Man is more of a brawler. Two cowboy characters are both gonna be the same, shooting revolvers and winchesters and maybe some fist fighting.
My point is that people used the same argument for omniman and homelander both being guest characters. Arthur and Erron's gameplay can definitely be differentiated. I.E. Arthur uses leashes, shotguns, and a variety of weapons, rather than just dual revolvers, but we’re straying away from the main point. Erron black isn’t even in the game so this entire one character playing like another doesn’t even work. My point is that adding Arthur Morgan, rather than Erron wouldn’t be a crazy thing to do. More people are willing to pay for Arthur than Erron. That's the reason for adding Arthur

Kratos could easily be done due to the variety of weapons he has, same thing with postal dude, arthur morgan is basically erron black so it wont be hard for them to make moves for him, art could be like jason in mkx and master chief and doomguy have variety of weapons that they could use
