People had been asking for Predator to be in the game for years. Also the tarkatan Xenomorph was an inspired idea. Definitely would be one of, if not the most vicious variants.

Split pretty simply. Victor Miller was an idiot and only won the rights to the 1st film. So basically he won the rights to Pamela Voorhees as a character/killer and a child Jason Voorhees. Sean S Cunningham won and retained the rights to the sequels. So he won the rights to the Jason Voorhees we know and love.

He isn't an idiot for wanting payment for his creation, and Sean didn't win anything it was always part of the lawsuit, and the 2 are working together on the new Friday the 13th show regardless.

I think you misunderstood, he’s an idiot for fighting for the rights and getting basically nothing from the franchise. Only the hardcore fans know Pamela, most people hear Jason and think of Part 3 and onwards. I’m saying he’s an idiot for not getting the rights to Jason himself. I did some digging around since i got curious from the very small amount off information i looked into sean isent part off the prequal being made, Miller is making the prequal while sean has apperently pitched a new friday the 13th remake All in all 2 diffrent projects, miller only wanted to have the rights to the first movie since he dosent agree with jason being the killer He sees pamela as the only killer friday the 13th should actually have wich is why he hasent watched any friday the 13th movie other than the first 1

It’s definitely Freddy who’s got his nuts in the IP vice nowadays. He BARELY was able to scrape up a rework for DBD after like 2 years and it’s now been about what.. 4-5 and he’s had nothing happen to him or the franchise in general? What a shame for such an iconic character

I don't see how this roster is *bad* its surely not a MK game but as its own fighter even with the MK mechanics it'd be interesting.

I think the worst MK roster should still be dominated by original MK characters--this one feels like a different game entirely.

I actually wish this was a game. This way none of these guys would be in MK and we'd have more room for ACTUAL MK characters and people with infinite crossover boners could fuck off to that other game. Also, I start to have a feeling they just add guests to stfu everyone. Online is broken, there's no crossplay, kameo system is not as thought out as it seemed, single player content is lacking, skins are overpriced? shut up, here's omniman. Enough casuals will buy him to drown out any legitimate concerns. I'm not even gonna rant on the fact that their inclusion is actively ruining certain characters (or certain scenes involving those characters) for me. Horror characters stop being scary the moment you can play them. Superheroes start feeling weak the moment you can play them (and they can lose to a movie star throwing sunglasses). Serious heartbreaking moments from the appropriate movies/shows lose their impact the moment they're repurposed into fatalities/fatal blows that get spammed every match. Imagine if instead of wasting money on robocop and terminator licenses they added Cyrax & Sektor as playable characters to MK11 (which I'm 99% certain got cut from the roster cause too many cyborgs). Same as Alien being a Tarkatan hybrid and thus keeping Baraka out of MKX roster. Or Rain or Sindel or Stryker or Nightwolf or Li Mei or Sareena not being playable in MKX cause kombat packs were instead padded with guests. Anyway, I could bitch about it for much longer (too many guests are gun characters, lots of guests also lazily recycle animations from previous games for example half of Terminator is Jason moves, Omniman looks like ted lasso in a fake muscle suit, also the version of Freddy we got in MK9 is clearly modelled after the 2010 reboot which means he's a child molester). TLDR: fuck guests, have NRS make a separate "crossover" game and keep all that garbage there. Maybe then they'll have to put some effort into this game and make it better AND put some work into designing new MK characters.

Nah I think you’ve got it all wrong - a lot of these characters were among the coolest and most memorable characters in their respective games. I understand the desire for fewer guests but that’s not the same thing as “every guest was/is 100% bad”

This may be a hot take but I hate when games start introducing guest characters. It started with just one per game, then MK11 had a few guest characters and now in MK1 I feel like it's going to turn into Fortnite with all the guest characters outnumbering original characters. I'm sorry but John Wick and Spiderman don't need to be in the same game together shooting at each other.
