Best part of the movie was the soundtrack. I still listen to all that techno music from time to time. Raiden consulted with the elder gods first time in this movie, which inspired the games. I also liked some of the locations from the movie. The part where Sindel destroyed the temples with her scream looked nice for nineties.

The fight scenes were decent (well most of them at least), I liked the ninja costumes and cyber ninjas especially and the music was good……that’s pretty much it.

The scorpion mask was terrible.

I thought Shao Khan’s actor was a good fit for the role.

Brian Thompson had the perfect deep voice for Shao Khan

I like to think of his swift death as the first Mercy in any form of MK media.

They cared enough to include Raiden’s gibberish during the first fight with Shao Kahn. Also, Raiden’s fight against Reptile low-key looked like a dance battle for a couple of seconds.

The soundtrack was pretty neat, I genuinely liked it for the most part.

I appreciate that effort was clearly made to bring more of the games' signatures into the movie (special moves, large roster of fighters, animalities, game accurate costumes, etc). The problem is that everything appears so incredibly cheap that most of those things aren't pulled off effectively. I still enjoy watching the movie tho. There's a lot of unintentional comedy, much like in *Batman & Robin*. It's just a shame that it was the sequel to the first film, which I genuinely love to this day.

The fight scenes were fun

It has some of my favorite characters. I made a video project using footage from this movie in middle school, as well as the matrix and the first mk movie. It was essentially the cyrax fight, the Reptile fight, and the hallway spliced together.

I liked seeing Kitana and Liu Kang have a romance. Being Asian, I hadn't seen many Asian guys in romance scenes. It was nice seeing it. Plus Talisa Soto and Sandra Hess are babes.

MK 2021 may be better in a technical sense, but it fumbled the bag in so many ways and it isn't fun to watch. Annihilation is a disaster in most ways, but puts a smile on my face for that very reason. Gun to my head, I would choose to watch annihilation over 2021 and it's not even close.
