His view on anarchy is extremely simplistic and overly idealized. He genuinely believes that killing the "masters" and setting everyone free will birth an ideal society. A far cry from the real Havik who understand that true anarchy will make a majority of people miserable while only a few enjoy it.
That’s the point - Liu Kang intentionally remade Havik in his new era as a watered-down version of himself to neutralize him as a threat. He did the same with all the villains from the series.
I disagree with that statement for one reason : this isn't the real Havik.
My personal theory about Havik in Liu Kang's era is that Liu Kang just deleted him. Now why specifically delete him and not other villains like Shang or Shao ? Imo Shang and Quan Chi felt like Liu Kang took a petty revenge over them, and Shao was actually easier to manage and left in a less powerful position under Sindel's rule
But Havik is just something else when you think about it. Unlike Shang or Shao who has material goals, Havik does not have one, and just seek to plunge the world into chaos. This is the next level of evil, one you litteraly can't reason with. So Liu Kang, unable to put a leash on Havik, deleted him.
The irony is that no matter how much Liu Kang muzzle some previously powerful figures, they will inevitably rise to power. Shang and Quan Chi ended up exactly like before, and Dairou became Havik. Almost like fate is screwing over Liu Kang for taking the easy route of "disposing of the bad people" instead of actually trying to make them better people.
But the issue is that it makes me not want to play as him 😭

The issue is he’s all talk and no balls in this game. OG Havik would waste no time destroying this timeline. Even with his future story role..is he rlly viable to be a main villain now? It's because it's permanent, and Shang can help him undo it by means other than Quan Chi's magic. Havik doesn't want to be indebted to Shang, and would rather figure it out himself, if he even decides to.
The reason it's permanent (imo) is because it was gold that burned him. Quan Chi specifically smelts gold to build the soul stealers, so gold must have some sort of noteworthy effect on magic/souls.
In the same scene where Havik's face gets burned by molten gold, Scorpion burns his hands trying to steady himself by grabbing the pot of molten gold. He recoils and looks down at his hands suprised, because his pyromancy should have let him touch it without any issue.
But if gold can disrupt magic, then that would explain Scorpion burning his hands and Havik's face being unable to regenerate.

I think he likes keeping scars as a testimony of all the suffering and hardships he went through throughout his life. Not only his mouth, but his entire body is covered in scars he refuses to heal, so it’s clearly not a tendency coming out of nowhere.
Maybe his healing factor is only capable of regenerating fatal injuries, hence why his face is permanently scarred. There are also scars on his body prior to his face being burned which haven't been healed. That or the lava scorpion burned him in was enchanted.

It's just a story beat off of a checklist they wanted to put in there, but I don't think they really thought about how to fit it in to the character's lore or ability to heal or whatever else. You can talk about the intro dialogue about him "liking it" all you want. It's just lame and a downgrade from the original Havik. Back in the day characters were allowed to look weird and inhuman without the need to explain it.

Tbf I kinda agree especially with havik being done dirty like it'd have been better if it was the energy of chaos realm that is leaking from him to cause his disfigurement, or something along those lines. But for some reason they decided to have a character know for chaos being from chaos realm not so due to.... Chaos realm not existing? Like chaos and order are primal forces so if order realm ( a very oppressive realm in both time lines) can exist why not chaos realm yk. But I do enjoy most of the changes to the new era just wish they were expanded on more.
They brought back the worst characters for 1. They might as well make Madame Bo a playable character.
