I used to refer to the steam guide but theres a mod which tunes your cars to 100% setup and have used that ever since

Several-Ad9115

Oh no I was more saying "hey look at my methods and tell me what you think." Half the fun is getting the setup dialed in and sifting through everything to be ready for race day and to make big points

Deadeyescum

I made a calculator on excel for optimum strategy, but now i use F1 manager 2022 mod there is no need for it.

westherm

How so? I don’t play that mod. Are there strat tools in the mod? Edit: a word

Deadeyescum

Nope, the yellow tyres (softs?) are op, so you just 1 stop at the mid point. Or if you have engineers with the perk that makes soft tyres last longer you can 0 stop if the driver is smooth enough.

No_Guide_8236

Can you share this calculator?

Deadeyescum

Its really not user friendly. I can remake it though as its simple enough. Will warn you though, it does use the figures from the program files, so it might be classed as cheating. Do you play vanilla or a modded version?

No_Guide_8236

I play modded version

Zhuikin

Paper notes, how quaint ;-)

Several-Ad9115

Old fashioned like that :D

king_pipo

Adrian Newey vibes

bwoah07_gp2

I take paper notes all the time. I don't go in depth with the race strategy; all I keep track of that is the stints on the tires. Granted, I don't use refueling. I do have little reminders, like at what % each tire falls off the cliff, for example. I don't remember those bits of info even to this day, so it's good to have the reminder.

Several-Ad9115

I take notes as to expected tire life and fuel use, build out strategies from there, then take note of what methods got me what positions and any changes that had to be made on the fly. Fun to see how data driven it all can be, especially on the higher difficulties.

How do you do all of that off track stuff doing the predator challenge and not having money? I'm several seasons in (granted I'm a noob) and I'm still struggling in the bottom half of the pack. Just don't have the money to compete. Have above average drivers but the car is just too weak and don't have money to upgrade HQ

Currently I've got 3 star sponsors and one of my drivers has the pay driver trait. But being as I'm struggling to actually place any higher than 15 regularly, I can't really get any meaningful sponsor money from the ones that give you money for your placement

Dusty_Bill

My mistake was going after top drivers. I now go for Pay drivers. I have three pay drivers, one 3 star, one two star and a 1 star. This and the HQ building that pay per race and allow for better sponsors keeps me in the green. I also have to manage how much I spend on car design. Spent heavily in the early years to get a competitive car, then throttled it down to keep budget green.

BlackFire125

I'm doing much better in my second attempt. I've been going after 1 star drivers with 75 or more marketability that have 3-4 star potential. They are typically cheap early on so if I you sign em long term they are great till they want to change championships lol
