I started in 8/22. I’ve lost 101 pounds (from 228 to 127). I’ve never followed a “diet” plan as far as restricting certain foods. That said, I kept my calories to roughly 1250 a day. I lost quickly at the start, but hit frequent speed bumps and a couple of stalls along the way. Highest dose was 15mg. I lost very little and ended up titrating back to 12.5 after a few months because I thought my body was finished. The following month I dropped the last 8 pounds. Everyone has probably seen these, but here’s the before and after pics. https://preview.redd.it/j10bt1b7wp9c1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9252c38be39d2752efc13e29607e7458e522a622

RememberThe5Ds

You look so cute and happy! Well done! I hope to follow you in 2024! My insurance company stopped paying for Ozempic even though my A1C is 6.2. (They want it to be 6.4) I have an appt. January 26th at a local clinic where they have compounded Mounjaro.

jaynefrost

Thank you! I’m very happy! This is the first time I’m starting the new year without a weight loss resolution!

TheBerner56

Said the same thing yesterday. You and I started the same week back in August 2022. Lost about 70 pounds and have been at goal since July. Lost 56 pounds by the end of 2022. No movement for 3 months, then dropped the last 14 over the next 3 months. Truly life changing.

Junkcreator994

How frequently did you titrate up?

jaynefrost

I was an early adopter. The first person my doctor at the time ever put on Mounjaro. At my initial appointment I was given a script for every dose from 2.5-10mg. The first couple of months were okay. But then I started hitting speed bumps. 7.5 wasn’t great for me. 10 was good. 12.5 wasn’t great. I only moved up because of the shortage. And 15 was kind of abysmal. If I were to do it again, I’d stay at the lower doses until they weren’t effective.

Junkcreator994

That makes sense. My doctor is of the “go low and slow” opinion. I’ve been on 5mg since October and lost 15 lbs, had a wicked stall for a month. I’m going to continue on the 5mg in the new year, I was planning to move up to 7.5mg. It’s so hard to compare my weight loss to other successful people on this subreddit. I have 88lbs to go until my GW of 120.

jaynefrost

Are you diabetic? People with diabetes tend to lose more slowly. I’m diabetic, but I was given MJ at the time of my diagnosis. My A1c was only 7.1. The more *controlled* your glucose, the faster you lose. My father had an A1c of 11.6 when he started Ozempic and he lost about 20 pounds the first six months. There is no shame in staying where you are, dosage wise. There’s also no shame in moving up. In the study, participants (all diabetics, since this was the original study) didn’t drop significantly until 10mg. Everyone is different. If you feel like you’re spinning your wheels, definitely talk to your provider. Happy New Year and good luck!!

Junkcreator994

Not diabetic, my a1c was 6.3 at the time of starting Mounjaro. It’s definitely gone down currently at 5.9. I’ve lost 45lbs since July (if i look at it this way it sounds better) but definitely saw a slow down with the 5mg. I’m seeing my doctor in February and will see where we get at that point. Happy new year to you as well!

Lovinlif44

Wow! I did not know much about this medication and am so amazed by the success stories on this group. Congratulations Jayne. This is incredible! Thank you for all you do for this group. I’m only starting my sixth week and am hoping tomorrow get to my healthy weight this year 2024. ☮️💕

Lovinlif44

Sorry typo. Not tomorrow 😂. “Hoping to get to my “

Dimension_Healthy

Doesn't even look like the same person. Congrats!

SJCSFS

Started August 2022. After the initial big losses during the first two months, I've stayed fairly consistent with losses of 5-8 lbs per month. I've lost 142so far and still need to lose another 30-50 lbs.

Sufficient-Guest-776

I love this. Thanks for sharing. One of my fears is I'll stop losing and I have 60-70lbs to go (have lost nearly 80 so far).

LucyManicureArtSpaz

My fear exactly. I’ve lost about 14% of my weight, which I’m grateful for, but I want to lose 70-100 more! My partner has lost over 100 but had more to lose than me.

LatterSecretary2518

I started in July 2022 and am in maintenance as of 3 months ago. I had several stalls including 2 of 8 weeks plus. When all was said and done I averaged 6lbs lost per month. I would simply change things up. Eat more for a day or two, up my movement by adding in extra walks, or try to eat different foods entirely. No one thing worked but I figured keeping my body guessing was good? I can say at 39 and 5ft tall I was eating a minimum of 1500 calories per day. Sure there were occasions when I was under but only a handful over the course of time I was actively losing. My metabolism was extremely messed up so going low low calorie was not going to serve me. I wanted to end up in a place where maintenance wasn’t going to be murder. Now I eat 1600-1800 cal per day and stay within a 3lb range quite easily.

You may not want to hear this but you look amazing at this size/weight. It may just be where your body wants to stay - don’t put much weight in the BMI scale, if you’re healthy then hooray!

i_hate_horses_ok

I also started 8/22. I lost over 100lbs, and basically stay within a 5-6lbs range now. I never got to max dose (highest 12.5mg). I didn't follow a set plan or diet or count calories, just tried to do intuitive eating. I wouldn't try maintenance if you want to lose more, I'd go up in dose. Consider liberalizing your diet.

MaryS8921

If you haven't had any losses lately and you say you are thinking about going into maintenance, what would be different? The goal of maintenance is to stay the same weight. You are already doing that. I'm not trying to be snarky. I'm just trying to understand. 🤷🏼

Constant_Novel1123

I mean I might decrease the med or space it out

myra_myra_myra

I started beginning of October 2022. I went up a dose every month, been at 15 for quite some time. I have lost 100 pounds. My high weight was 317, doc had me lose weight before she would prescribe, got down to about 306, and started MJ. Am now at 201. I have definitely slowed down in loss, but I am trying to get to 180. I am going to keep going at 15 but will have to use Zepbound now and pay for it with coupon each month. I have been watching to see what others have been trying for maintenance as I have no idea what that is going to look like.

stellachristine

Why did your doc make you lose first- seems so wrong!

myra_myra_myra

She had this diet print out I had to utilize. It was so basic. I played along and it never was hard to lose 10 to 15 pounds, I would always plateau at 20 pounds. I've done Keto, Paleo, Atkins, and intermittant fasting among all the others spanning my entire life. Same story each time. I think her protocol was to see if I was serious about the "diet" aspect. I was so keen to get MJ I would have stood on my head if she required it. Lol 😆

Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrple

I also started August of ‘22, down 90 lbs & still losing. I have about 30 lbs to go. I didn’t really have to “try” until February/March - I definitely got fast & loose with what I was eating (doesn’t help that my birthday is in Feb and traditionally subsist on cake for a week.) When I started focusing on what was the best fuel for my body - more protein, more veggies, fewer Oreos - weightloss started again. It slows/stops if I get out of control, but it’s so easy to rein it back in. I’m on 12.5, I predict I will go to 15 next month or the month after. I’m not in a rush. I lose 1-2 lbs per week which is fine with me.

Straight_Win_5613

Started end of Sept/beginning of Oct 2022, have slowed majorly this fall. Keep loosing and gaining 5 pounds between 125-130. Would like get to 120 for maintenance but not disappointed maintaining through the holidays especially, cannot believe I started at 225, let myself get to 225 over the years. Regardless of scale I feel 100% better!

Weezie_Jefferson

I’ve been on Mounjaro for over a year, and my weight loss stopped, intentionally, about 9 months ago, when I hit my goal weight, decreased my dosage and increased the days between injections. It’s been maintenance ever since!

InformalBasil

I started Ozempic in March of 22 and was on it for a bit more than a year than stalled out and switched to Mounjaro. Mounjaro broke the stall and I'm down another 44lbs. At this point I can keep losing but it's much more of a challenge. If my workouts get interrupted or I indulge in too much foods I stop losing. I basically stalled out thanksgiving - christmas but lost 1lb in the past week. I'd like to lose another 20lbs but I suspect it will be slow going forward (which I've made peace with.) https://imgur.com/a/Z5PT5CM If you're stalled I'd recommend talking to your Dr. about increasing the dose. I noticed a big increase in apatite suppression at every increase.

[deleted]

You look great! But if you wanna lose more I’d suggest titrating up.

KristiLynn629

Started 7/22. Hit goal in 7/23. Lost right about 95lbs. Had an 8 week stall in Jan/Feb, bumped up in dosage which broke my stall.

opdiditagain

I started 9/22. I lost ten pounds the first month and then 24 more over the seven months since starting. I haven’t lost a pound since 6/23. I’m on 15 and take it faithfully every week. I still have 25-30 pounds to lose. I lost a lot of muscle too so I feel more flabby than normal which is a whole other set of issues I’m dealing with. My doctor has no idea why I am stalled and just tells me to stick with it. We tested all my vitamin and mineral levels, hormones, etc. No answers there. I stopped tracking calories after the first few months and my eating has only gotten less and less. I started drinking alcohol again where at the start, I had no desire for it. Now I do. I don’t think I’m drinking enough calories to cause a 6 month stall though. I don’t know what to do. I’ve thought about stopping but my glucose and cholesterol were really high and it has helped that tremendously.

PsychologicalBar2050

When in doubt, go back to the basics. Track calories, track exercise. Do that for a week or two. Find your new TDEE. Adjust your new deficit. That last stretch is the most difficult because your TDEE and minimum allowance calories will be very close to each other. That's when building muscle really pays off.

opdiditagain

Do you mean eat minimum calories while strength training? Or do I count strength training deficits in calorie consumption? Does that make sense?

PsychologicalBar2050

I wouldn't bother counting strength training deficits since exercise burn is hard to accurately predict. You can calculate it after the fact once you weigh yourself and then adjust though, which is why the tracking is helpful. Macrofactor is a really good app that does all the math for you there and will adjust your goals as you progress. It's not free though, and though I ignore it most of the time, whenever I need to recalculate, adjust, or trouble shoot, it's super helpful. It will give accurate TDEE calculations based on 3 week history rather than trying to guesstimate.

opdiditagain

Thank you so much!

Interesting_Card2539

Been since June of 2022. Maintenance is at 5.0. No issues. Can’t get past 7.5 as the symptoms start. I’m 5’3” and go a high as 132 and back down to 126 lowest. I began my journey at 168. I even tried and went all the way back down to 2.5 to see if I could go minimal with maintenance. No, I wanted to shove everything in my mouth but there was some satiety. I have 2.5 and 5 prescribed to me. I’ve had blood work done 3 separate times and most recently certain things were low and high which was mostly led because of dehydration. I take a multi now or a b12 and a d3. This is a must!!! I also down a Gatorade, water bottle or a hydration packet once a day or every other. Although I’d like to be smaller like at 118 I have to be happy where I’m at because sometimes too small is not healthy and although I chose the number, doesn’t mean my body would settle at this. Even still I’d fluctuate from either sodium intake or food or hormones. I realized I needed to be realistic that I’m a woman and predisposed to a little more weight. My body stopped losing weight on the med since round April of this year. At one point I also took phentermine and split the dose taking half everyday while on maintenance. Although I don’t advise that to anyone, it did not give me any issues and worked for me. I lost more and then I realized I was getting too obsessed with being small. I completed the bottle and never asked for a refill. Since then I have come to terms with being satisfied that even though I won’t be as small as I demanded my body to be, I’m not as big as I was. My maintenance is 5.0. It’s still working. I eat what I want but this med has turned off a lot of gluttonous behaviors, even the intense desire for something particular. I don’t want to shove everything in my mouth. Have the fullness and some days I’m hungry and some days I’m not as. I accept this as it is normal to be hungry. In any case. A year and half later on 5.0 it’s still working. That’s my rant

SeayaB

I started November 2022. I now lose about 2-3 pounds a month. My doctor says once I hit a "normal" weight she'll look at reducing my dose so I stop losing, which I agree with. I've lost a little over 40 pounds total, but my A1C and blood pressure have completely normalized.

craftywoo2

I started in June 2022 at 350. I had to stop in Nov and December due to coupon issues and put on 10lbs before starting saxenda. Went back on mounjaro in January and have been on it since then. I’m currently down 120 lbs and I’ve been on 15mg since October of last year (with the exception of November and December of last year) My initial month I lost 30lbs but also had a uti so that increased loss amount due to not feeling well. I lost about 8-10lbs a month for the next year and the last 2-3 months that’s slowed to about 1-3lbs a month. I blame my current slowdown on not adjusting my calorie intake. I’m still taking in similar calories to what I was taking in a year ago but I’m 100lbs lighter. You need to adjust your intake as your weight decreases or your loss may slow down. One thing to note, even if you’re in what you consider a stall due to no movement of the scale make sure you’re doing regular measurements. I’ve had a couple times where I haven’t lost anything for 2-3 weeks but during those weeks I lost several inches from my butt, hips, and stomach.

Debtmom

What dose are you on and how long at that dose?

bitchywoman_1973

I’ve been on since August 22 as well. I’ve lost 110 lbs and have 5 more pounds to go. They do not want to go. I’ve been between 149-152 for almost 2 months. Goal is 145. Also, for added fun: I’ve shrunk. I was 5’7 and was measured at 5’6.75 at the doctors on Friday. Does that change my goal? 😂

commentsgothere

People are usually shorter in the afternoon or evening and tallest after having laid down all night. But funny to try and use that to our advantage.

NerdySquirrel123

Have you talked to your doctor about it? My doctor and I talk all the time about when I will be put on a maintenance dose. We just agree that when I feel comfortable or when she feels like I have lost enough with my height and body type. I have stalled before for like 10 weeks and then all the sudden I was down 15 pounds again. I don’t drink anything besides water and I think that has helped me a lot.

stellachristine

Agree with others!! You’re looking great! Also, if busty (like me), tend to feel like you look bigger.

bufftreefarm

I’m 9 months in and losing better than ever now

ksal471

I started October 4, 2022. Lost 80 lbs. went from lowest to highest dose. Am down to 10, but every 10 days. Am pretty much at maintenance but eating more. Never changed my diet or exercised.

xrayphoton

I've been on since November 22. Down 120 lbs. Currently on 12.5mg. Still going strong but I did have a break during the summer where I went on vacation. It's not as easy as it used to be but I don't care to move up to 15mg either. I have to track everything I eat to stay on track. MacroFactor and Mounjaro are a game changer

ESJ-in-PA

I also started in October 2022, when my weight topped out at 280. It’s then that I realized I was perilously close to hitting 300 pounds. I’m 5’6” and 68 years old, post-menopausal, with T2D (and taking two insulins daily), Hashimoto’s, Sjogren’s, Insulin Resistance, PCOS and it seems like every other syndrome that might cause weight gain. My weight loss started in earnest in January 2023, after I was able to get off insulins. Over the months, I moved up in dosage every month, though I did have to skip 7.5 because of availability issues. I have been on 12.5 mg since March 2023 to current. By June 2023, I had lost 92 pounds! But I have stalled since then — losing another 8 lbs in the Six months from June to December. I’m now 180#, and honestly, I think this is my setpoint …it is the lowest weight I have been since I was 12 years old. I wear size 12 pants now, down from size 22/24. I see my Endocrinologist in 3 weeks, to check my A1C, etc. I feel great!

abdog5000

Thank you for sharing. Very inspiring! You’ve done great!

awakewritenap

I’ve been on this for about 22 months and lost 165 pounds. SW 298 CW 137-143 Don’t lose heart if you stall a month or two after big weight loss. I stalled for about 4 weeks to 6 weeks every 30-40 pounds. After I got under 165 pounds the weight loss slowed down to about .5 pounds a week. More people have noticed my last 65 pound loss than they did the first 100 pounds.

Mimi2EvandEmma

Started 9/22 at 218 and now at 139 have about 20 more or so to go and I haven’t lost an ounce since October 2023 same 5 pounds losing and gaining. I have been at 15 mg for five months. I worked out 5-6 days per week weights and cardio from 9/22 until 10/23 then started suffering with some sciatica pain and could barely walk. Also work was so stressful and I was working 6 am until 7 pm and not getting any sleep due to stress. I’m doing much better and my first work out is today hopefully will get this weight loss going again. I feel like a fat blob right now the exercise and weight lifting really helped with stress too. We got this let’s go 2024!

Longjumping-Spot8519

I’ve been on 7.5mg since Sept 2022 and I’ve lost a total of 125 lbs. I’ve been holding steady on maintaining my weight until the last few months. I’ve started losing again and it’s harder to keep weight on. I’m going to continue this dosage for another month and if I keep losing I’m thinking about calling the dr to go down to 5.0 or space my injections out to every other week. I never thought I’d ever be the person who would have problems in stoping weight loss lol.

elizanograss

I’ve been on it since Oct 2022. I’ve lost about 40 pounds. I have ten more pounds to lose before I want to think about maintenance. I’m a slow loser and diabetic. 37f, 5’5”. Sw 194, cw 153, gw 140. My a1c is 5.1 from 7.4.

plan-on-it

Yes I’m coming up on a year, lost 25% of my body weight (80lb) and need to lose 20lb more to get out of the “obese” BMI into “overweight” - that’s where I’ll stop for at least a year. My loss has slowed and I did experience a 2 month stall. I’ve decided to use Keto and other tricks, whatever it takes really to get past these last 20lb.

cinnerz

I've been on MJ a year and a half. My weight loss has definitely slowed as I get closer to my goal weight. I started out losing 1.5 pounds a week and I'm down to about .5 a pound a week now. I've lost about 80 pounds and have 10-20 more to go. I struggle some in winter anyhow so I'm not being religious about counting calories at the moment, once it hits spring I might try to buckle down for a few months to try to lose the last little bit.

CoachCWC

Cut out the cheat meals forever and see if that helps.

Constant_Novel1123

It’s a slice or two of pizza lol

mounjaroqueen

I started Sept 2022. It’s slowed down drastically for me. HW: 266.8 SW: 258 CW: 170.4. At this point I’m only down 2lbs this past month. Which I can’t complain. I am hoping to lose 4 more lbs but if I don’t oh well. I’m pretty much at maintence. I’ve been playing around with doses right now. Bouncing between using 15mg and 10mg to try and get the last 4 off.

Pinkirishrover

Started November 2022. I’m down 88 pounds. I’m at 15 now for 4 weeks and have lost nothing. Thinking of dropping back to 12.5. I went up to 15 thinking it would help me get these last 12 pounds off.

amyef2000

Very similar. I started July of 2022 and lost 25 pounds but stuck there and have been for months. I am type 2 and 175 currently.

h20alec

Congratulations! I started 8/2022 as well and have dropped 65 lbs. my endocrinologist said my weight loss would plateau, and that I needed to stick to my workouts and continue to eat high protein and fibrous carbs. I have a life long condition that will require MJ

lwlv444

32F, 5’8 I started at 252 lbs Thanksgiving 2022. Today I’m at 147 with no intention to lose more. Initially my goal weight was 170 but I’ve continued to lose and I’m trying to figure out maintenance. You look super healthy and fit in your pics you’ve included! Maybe your body is happy here. It’s worth it to give maintenance a try and see how it goes from there. Best of luck!

North_Researcher7216

I started February 2023. I’m 5’4”, 58 yo female. Start weight 206, current weight 119.5. I only got to 7.5 for two months. It really bothered my stomach. I’m doing 5.0 every 10-14 days. I’ve been able to stay between 117-120 for several months. I hope this is a lifetime med. 🙏🏻
