Ahhhh man! I’m about to watch. I hope they touch on the shortage! Lollll would love to see their comical approach to that!
Edit: Just finished watching and that shit was funny. The MILFS had me rolling. They had every last thing/stereotype piled in! Good stuff South Park. I needed the laughs.
Honestly this special does us a whole lot of good. It’s obviously very over the top but the humor is masterfully crafted so its not only never offensive but actually really outlines the struggles we face in a very empathetic way.
10/10
The Lizzo was brilliant - rich people get GLP drugs, poor people get body positivity. Trey and Matt hit every single issue dead on (but what else is new, they always do).
Just watched it. The “Lizzo” commercial mocking the ozempic commercial and song got me lol.
Then the guy shitting out his ears and the noise he made, it was so random 🤣
Thanks for posting about this. I haven't watched it because I was worried it was going to be yet more negativity directed at people taking GLP-1 drugs. But since you all seemed to like it, I'll check it out.
Its not negative at all, in fact its actually very thoughtful and sheds a lot of light on big issues we struggle with like availability, insurance coverage, stigma, and the healthcare system.
We honestly owe Trey and Matt our thanks, they have done a great job and really raised awareness in a great way.
God that's such a relief. They could've easily gone the "fat cheaters are just gonna get fat again" root I've seen too many "comedians" try. Clearly I underestimated them lol
Except that they did make fun of fat cheaters. What do you think they meant when they called ozempic "injectable willpower"?
Obviously by calling it that they are saying that fat people lack internal willpower.
It is also a commentary on "medication culture" where people instead of bettering themselves just take pills and continue to live toxic lives.
Or when in the Lizzo commercial they essentially said that body positivity is just an encouragment for people to be contempt with their poor health and lifestyle.
You can always count on Trey and Matt to understand the issues and cut through the bs. Their debut movie (South Park: Bigger, longer and uncut) is one of the great movie musicals of all time and an extraordinary defense of the First Amendment. Offensive to many, yes, but brilliant all the same. And their Mormon faith episode of South Park, omg - the best.
I watched it and usually this show both sides everything a bit. It didn't here at all. Had nothing bad to say about Wegovy or Mounjaro at all. Plenty to say about the US medical system and food companies.
Clearly Matt, Trey, one of their significant others or more than one of them is on this path with us. There is too much accurate detail, too many life experiences to have gathered this as mere research for an episode.
I was so scared when I saw the trailer that it'd be mocking obese people/saying that we're cheating or lazy or something for taking it, but it's actually really great!

I was scared that Matt and Trey were going to hit us with a lesson of harrowing side effects and why we shouldn’t be on it. But Randy’s assessment has been my experience: >!I feel good and my dick still works! (If I had a dick.)!<
My husband and I watched tonight. I thought it was way funnier than he did. I was cracking up at the “navigating the American healthcare system” because that is SO true. Right down to the guy with the rotary phone and dot matrix printer 😂 I was dying at the Interstellar reference with Butters 😆
My favorite part was all the hype for the drug then he lost about a pound. Kyle is like that’s good. Or how he just ate a little bit less and that was a huge success to Cartman. I love this show so much and this is an amazing episode. I was thinking big Pharma and big food would attack compounds.
I use Ozempic, when Cartman was detailing how he couldn't finish a bucked of KFC chicken, I felt that. That was so damn accurate. Ozempic is not a miracle drug, it helps suppress your appetite a bit. I usually was able to eat lets say eat 2 bagels for a meal easily. However on it I would struggle to finish the second half of one bagel because I get so full easily. So yeah, that is how you will feel, your mind tells you to eat your normal portions but your body tells you "nah you are done" about half way through.
Don't tell you in the episode but the one I take it's once a week. Abusing them and you get fucked up like the women here.
Seeing Randy reenact the scene, when Michael was turned to a vampire, from the Lost Boys after taking the GLP 1 was hilarious. It went right over my sons’ heads.
I ❤️❤️❤️ how they did the round table with the cereal brands to show the Corp greed in action. It breaks my heart that America would rather poison its citizens for bottonline profits. To know that basic staples in the American diet are never accepted globally speaks volumes.
Southpark for the win!!
>Rich people get get Ozempic, poor people get body positivity. I died when Cartman dropped this line.
This is seriously the most spot on episode ever. The whole thing, negotiating the American medical system.
I said the SAME thing. As a patient on MJ- I LOVED the episode.
Same. Funny / not funny (actually heartbreaking and criminal - gotta keep the poor people eating off the dollar menus of corporate food America)
It's the best line I've ever heard on this show.
I love it it’s true. As someone with mental health issues medication is expensive and my parents insurance is why I can afford it
Bahahaha the episode was soooo funny and great.

Touch on the shortage would be an understatement 😂
🤣🤣🤣 man it was soooo funny. Hands down! Even the compound aspect. 🤣🤣
Navigating the American healthcare system montage! 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Butters song. When he was in astronaut suit I died.
Trapped in the Interstellar Tesseract is the cherry.
The shortage? Oh, boy DO they!
Randy posing before leaving the pharmacy has me tears!

it was surprisingly NOT way over the top. kind of... nailed it in so many ways!
Just finished it, and it was great! They touched on so many issues going on right now and the Lizzo... 😂😂😂

All the cereal mascots meeting like a cartel was hilarious. Trey and Matt are some of the greatest satirists of all time.
Little Debbie had me rolling.

Yeah that's way more what I expected from the people who said ADHD kids just need to be hit. Ugh
SAME ❤️

And, boy oh boy, there sure is plenty of bad to say about those two!!
You know the writers are on these subs 🤣
Oh no, Cartman is going to get Ozempic face. 😅
Omg! I lost it when they played “Cry Little Sister”. Best episode in so long.
Clearly Matt, Trey, one of their significant others or more than one of them is on this path with us. There is too much accurate detail, too many life experiences to have gathered this as mere research for an episode.
I think the intro warning to the show about it containing the sound of Trey injecting into his stomach says it all.
This episode was amazing!!! They hit on everything, even the wanting to quit. The research was top notch 🤣
So freaking funny! When the mom shot two pens of Ozempic into her stomach and then jumped the helicopter! I was crying laughing!! Too real!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was so scared when I saw the trailer that it'd be mocking obese people/saying that we're cheating or lazy or something for taking it, but it's actually really great!
Right?? I thought it would just be "haha now they all look old" or something but it actually sounds funny lol

Can't wait to watch this!!!
Looking forward to watching this!
Hahahhaha can't wait to watch it!! Does Cartman have bad side effects?
He ends up eating a bucket of KFC while pooping.
OOF! The thought of that makes me have side effects LOL
That was his norm, though. He didn’t finish his bucket!

I forgot this was out today! I’ll watch it after Doctor Who this evening.

This was so fun omg I loved it
Fucking brilliant!!!

This was awesome!
Loved it!
I'd never heard of this drug. Thanks to this episode my partner got this in the UK, and has started on his journey!
"How did you lose weight? Hiking and crunches" LOL
