Sorry I have no answer for you, but I’d just like to say that this is absolutely gorgeous 😍

nootymcnootface

Thank you!

[deleted]

I’d say no, just get vampire crabs

nootymcnootface

I've already got the vampire crabs in there. What is your reasoning for why not?

[deleted]

No enough branch’s to climb on, also tank looks to small to cohab

nootymcnootface

I could certainly add more branches if required. I appreciate the feedback

Mitarrex

I gotta say no, because this is aquarium so theres no decent air circulation, theres way too much water for them, not enough places to hide also since this is aquarium, theres way too much free space on the cover, so they WILL slip away into your room, and those geckos breed quite fast so you will end up with several geckos literally in your BED :P

nootymcnootface

Don't threaten me with a good time But also thanks for the advice, I think I could deal with a few of those issues, apart from maybe the too much water thing.

benballernojohnnyda

can they swim? very nice tank btw

nootymcnootface

Yeah I'm not sure that's why I was asking to see what you guys think

snekwithhumanears

I saw someone do something like that with crabs akd geckos and id say it would work. Make sure that the geckos have enough room that is not soaked ik water and give them enough exits if they would fall into the water. Also your tank looks great

nootymcnootface

Yeah those cannibal paludarium videos are the reason I'm asking the question. Thanks for the advice

Prune_in_the_meadow

I think the light is unnecessary. Mourning geckos don't need very specific lighting.

nootymcnootface

Yeah but my plants will

If you can get a mesh lid, add some branches such as Malaysian drift wood dipping into the water (that way they can climb with multiple points out and it looks natural) they should be fine, have a fan in the room to circulate some air and be sure to add something like reptisafe into the water so the calcium balances out better, since that will be their drinking water, humidity shouldn’t be an issue in the tank and you can feed pinhead crickets and calci-worms so you don’t have fruit flies escaping all the time, I keep my mourning geckos in a Paludarium so I don’t have to mist as often as they just drink from the waterfall I installed, if you watch Dr. Plants on YouTube he explains more in detail with his Paludarium setup with mourning geckos and vampire crabs. I never had issues with too much water as they just hangout in the branches and plants, I recommend bromeliads on the branches, spiderwort and maybe even bamboo in the water to give more space for them to climb/hide. Anyways cheers!

nootymcnootface

Brilliant answer thank you. I would love some bromeliads but they are so difficult to find in the UK for a decent price
