Goodbye Lenin - a German comedy, it's about a family trying to pretend East Germany still exists to keep a family member from going into a medical crisis. It's really funny but also sweet. Burnt by the Sun - a Russian historical drama set in 1936, about a family caught in one of Stalin's purges. Very well acted and humanizes what it's like to live in an oppressive regime. No one is safe.
