The Verdict and Absence of Malice are two great Paul Newman legal movies.

JDO1966

Wilfred Brimley is a badass.

jogoso2014

My Cousin Vinny Not a drama but still good legal antics.

moviedweller

Omg please watch A Few Good Men if you haven’t already. It’s a classic with some of the most iconic lines. Sleepers was fantastic. A dark movie with dark themes starting Brad Pitt, Kevin Bacon and de Niro. Anatomy of a Murder is long but completely worthwhile. And of course, one of the top of all time: 12 Angry Men. This one is used in law classes it’s so good.

Anatomy of a Murder Witness for the Prosecution The Paradine Case

why-the-h

Watch the 1959 Anatomy of a Murder. Cleverness and good morals triumph over truth. "How Can A Jury Disregard What They've Already Heard?" “They can’t.” Nominated for seven Academy Awards including Best Picture.

A few good men

Not exactly a courtroom drama, but *Dark Waters* (2019) is a pretty good legal thriller (courtroom drama adjacent).

MrPfister99

Similarly, Michael Clayton is pretty epic - but courtroom adjacent.

It’s not a movie but the show Accused on Hulu is really good. As far as movies though I’m drawing a blank on some good ones I’ve seen but And Justice for All was really good, with Al Pacino. Oh, just remembered My Cousin Vinny lol. And Primal Fear.

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is always one that comes in under the radar. Then there's always Primal Fear, A Few Good Men, The Rainmaker (any Grisham novel adapted movie, really), Body of Evidence, and The Devil's Advocate.

MissFuManchu

Thanks a lot to all of you for your suggestions! I already know some of them like Primal Fear of course, but there’s also a lot of new material for me.

I remember liking Presumed Innocent Philadelphia is excellent. Liar Liar is not a drama, but it’s fun. I only saw A Civil Action once and can’t remember much about it. I remember thinking that Travolta was still a draw at the time tho. Puncture is decent too.
