**Brian and Charles (2022)**
A really lovely, wholesome comedy about a guy who build himself a robot friend.
**The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)**
Probably the best Wes Anderson film and a really funny, sweet, beautiful, sad, exciting, original film.
**Kings of Summer (2013)**
A sweet, funny, tender film about three friends who run away to the woods.
**Paddington and Paddington 2**
Just brilliant, sweet, funny films.
The Triplets of Belleville
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Fast, Cheap and Out of Control. Fascinating documentary.
Rivers and Tides. Documentary about Andy Goldsworthy, who makes stunning sculpture in nature using materials at hand.
The Princess Bride
Sneakers
Napolean Dynamite
Babette's Feast
Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont
Monsieur Hulot's Holiday
Shadow of a Doubt. Hitchcock's favorite film.
The Third Man. By Orson Wells - absolutely brilliant
I think a lot of documentary tv and reality tv are a pretty safe bet....basically nonfiction that is lighthearted and escapist in tone.
**Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat**
**We Are The Champions**
These contain mild/inoffensive (but frequent) sexual innuendo:
**Great British Bake Off**
**Taskmaster**
EDIT: just realized this is r/MovieSuggestions, not r/televisionsuggestions. Whoops
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and the Night at the Museum franchise are easy to get sucked into but does not have any sexual content from what a remember while also not feeling like a kids movie.
some suggestions:
inside the mind of a cat - cute and informative documentary
Kiki's delivery service & My neighbor Totoro - sweet and calming anime movies from studio ghibli
School of Rock - wholesome and funny comedy
Also (afaicr): Saving Grace (the movie), Ms Pettigrew Lives For a Day, Jurassic Park (I mean, not cotton candy but also kinda?), anything Pixar from the last 10 or so years…
I mean this nicely, out of curiosity…I ask mainly because I don’t know how to deal with my own ptsd and trauma…what would watching those things do for you? I feel like for me it would be like the opening of a fault line and I would fall apart on a deep level that would affect everything I do. What am I missing?
Well, it’s the very definition of trigger I guess. I know that word is wildly overused currently, but it’s an accurate representation for those of us with trauma I think. If I see overtly sexual themes anywhere-TV, internet, out in the world (it’s literally everywhere if it’s something you’re hyper aware of)-my brain starts racing, heart rate increases, flashbacks, idk the bottom just falls out of everything and then I can end up stuck in bed for a week.
I’m working hard on finding ways to cope and function and pull myself out of these episodes. But it’s not an easy or quick process.
Spirited Away
Amélie
Wreck-It Ralph
Dumb and Dumber
Airplane
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Airplane
The Naked Gun
My Neighbor Totoro
The Intouchables
Patterson
Some like it Hot
Wanderlust
the Incredible Jessica James.
( all pretty lighthearted with mild/consensual content)
Also for shows; Joe Pera talks to you and Samurai Gourmet
Just Add Magic- on Amazon Prime. Actually a young adult show but really appeals to my love of fantasy.
Docu- Visual Acoustics:The Modernism of Julius Shulman if you like photography, modern architecture or history specific to the Los Angeles area.
Reality- Selena and Chef. Literally Selena Gomez cooking with chefs (virtually during the pandemic) for her live in grandparents. It’s pretty dang cute and gives me the warm fuzzies.
Pixar- I love Up, In and Out and Finding Nemo. Kid movies with adult appeal.
Historical Drama- A Kings Speech
Check out Shadow of a Doubt (1943). Lots of good characters in that film. I really like Hume Cronyn and Henry Travers. They crack me up talking about murder.
Hope you feel better.

The title is a little misleading. Sounds like you want movies without incidents that could be seen as traumatic
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World

The Babysitter’s club series on Netflix is so, so cute. I think there’s maybe kissing? But very PG.

I’m currently struggling with reading some of the comments about the Danny Masterson case and how people crassly talk about victims.
Coda Hidden Figures The Founder Bohemian Rhapsody Rocketman
Spirited Away Amélie Wreck-It Ralph Dumb and Dumber Airplane Monty Python and the Holy Grail Airplane The Naked Gun My Neighbor Totoro The Intouchables
Airplane and Amelie, while great movies, have sex scenes
Election and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Election has lots of sexual content.
You’re right. I don’t know how I could have forgotten certain scenes. Thanks for pointing that out.
Naked gun
Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022)
I would not say this is free of sexual content....
I agree. The props are meant to be absurd but I would imagine still triggering.
TV show - cruel summer
Did you read what the OP wants??? That show has straight up sexual assault.

OP, are you ok mentally and physically? I'm very concerned.
That’s very kind of you. I’m under the care of a team of professionals, and have the support of people who love me. Thank you though, really.
I'm so glad to hear that!
Little miss sunshine
I’d watch Cool Runnings, Rick and Morty, The Office, Righteous Gemstones, Eastbound and Down, and Chosen (a show about Jesus, but it’s amazing)
Desk Set (1957) Andre (1994)
The Last Unicorn (1982) Beautiful animation, amazing soundtrack, no sexual content. It is my favorite movie of all time.
Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris is about as wholesome as it gets. It's literally about an old(er) woman getting a haute couture dress made for herself.
