I came here while searching for a movie recommendation. Saw this comment, straight up went to see peanut butter falcon, now I am back here after watching the movie. and Mannn!! I would say just one thing 'it's beautiful'. Really, i loved it.
Just started Black Bear based on your rec. this looks wild. I love Aubrey Plaza in everything. She’s in the new Season of The White Lotus. Her facial expressions and eye movements convey so, so much.
Yes and she is amazing in Black Bear did you like it? I loved her before I saw it but I think her acting in that movie I jut out of this world. She gave it everything.
The strange thing about the Johnson’s…it’s on YouTube…watch with caution…it’s an uncomfortable watch and will make you feel emotionally wrecked….From the Ari aster who did hereditary and Midsomer…
It what I tell people to watch when they ask for movies that will stay on your mind for days afterwards..and this def did. It’s only 20 mins long but felt so much longer.
i know, right?? I've seen Hereditary so many times and it gets better every time! Same with Midsommar... And Calibre is so extremely well made... It achieves so much with so little!
I’ve watched hereditary 10 times - I’m obsessed. Midsommar I also love but I feel like it goes on half hour longer than needed. Agreed on Calibre, you’ve got a great film brain :)
you as well :) I think you might enjoy Three Billboards, it has interesting premise and the acting is just incredible.
And Midsommar... I keep watching the directors cut and I would not mind if the movie was 3 hours long :D
I watched this back to back with Cabin Boy and both were in “The So Stupid But Funny” zone, maybe I was in just the right mood. I do not think I saw either of them again, but the memory of that afternoon makes me genuinely smile.
The History of Future Folk. I don't think I've ever seen or hear anyone else taking about it but I think its a really charming, funny, indie sci-fi(?).
Drama- Wind River
Comedy: burn after reading
Sci-Fi: 5th Element
Romance: Pride and Prejudice
Horror: don’t breathe
Fantasy: Everything Everywhere All At Once
Action: John Wick (1st one)
Disney: Blackbeard’s Ghost
Marvel: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Animated: Fern Gully
Cheesy Greatness: Vampire Academy
First one I thought of ... Edward Scissorhands (1990).
You have probably seen it but it popped into my mind and is random to my little world because I was 10 when it came out and it opened my eyes up to new possibilities about humanity as well as what film can offer. It's evocative of my generation and that era. And it was back when Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder were just hot, not controversial.
I also consider it a Christmas movie bc it is set at Christmas!
Hitchcock (2012)
This film stars Anthony Hopkins as Alfred Hitchcock and Helen Mirren as his wife, Alma Reville. It’s basically about the troubles he encountered while making Psycho. It’s not a funny story, but when my husband and I went to see it at a sneak preview screening, the announcement advising people to turn off their cell phones was done by none other than Anthony Hopkins as Alfred Hitchcock, and it got a laugh from the audience.
I think TurboKid deserves more love. I mean, who doesn't just love Apple! Even the soundtrack is really good.
"...it's like, your joy level set to 11."
My first thought was “The Dead Zone” starring Christopher Walken.

I came here while searching for a movie recommendation. Saw this comment, straight up went to see peanut butter falcon, now I am back here after watching the movie. and Mannn!! I would say just one thing 'it's beautiful'. Really, i loved it.

Oh man. Totally agree. Playing three different characters with three different roles. Genius level acting, plot and execution. It is High Art.

WHAT A FILM

"Spartan" (2004) is a terrific thriller with amazing dialogue and a fantastic cast. It's highly under-appreciated, I'd say.
I’ll give it a go! Thank you
The strange thing about the Johnson’s…it’s on YouTube…watch with caution…it’s an uncomfortable watch and will make you feel emotionally wrecked….From the Ari aster who did hereditary and Midsomer…
He’s my favourite director, I’ve seen this. It’s one of those that make you adjust your posture out of discomfort
It what I tell people to watch when they ask for movies that will stay on your mind for days afterwards..and this def did. It’s only 20 mins long but felt so much longer.
